Chapter 400: Changed The Dates!
When Chris returned to the company, he looked much in control, he watched Nora still working in her office.

He paused in his tracks and watched her for a while. Though the desire was still there, he did not lose control like before.

“Why is she still here?” Aiden looked at the woman working with uneasiness.

“She claimed that since you are ready for the transfer of shares, she should come often and learn everything before you leave.” He watched his boss closely, as if waiting for his outburst. His mind is overworking to salvage the situation.

But Chris did not burst out. He only stared at Nora wirth a smirk. He extended his hands and Aiden instantly took out a cigarette and lit it for him.

“Sir, the deal is good for us. And I am sure that Miss Stone could never learn the tasks completely. Her speciality is in science, I have confirmed it myself.” he rambled hastily as if he was afraid that Chris would refuse the deal. They needed that money desperately.

Chris smirked as he took a drag of his cigarette.

“It did not have anything to do with us. We will take our money and leave this cursed company.” he threw the cigarette on the ground and trampled on it with force. Aiden was perplexed looking at Chris.

For the first time, he did not know what Chis was thinking. But as long as he did not back out from the deal, Aiden was relieved.

“Sir, then the deal..”

“Yes, let’s complete it fast. We need that cash. I will ask the finance head to make an estimate for every company. We need to salvage the situation.” a bright smile appeared on Aiden’s face as he nodded repeatedly.

He did not know where the boss had gone, but he had returned to a better state.

Chris returned to his office. He saw a pile of files there. A smirk appeared on his lips. He pressed the bell and a young girl entered the room followed by Aiden.

“Since she is learning. We should help her.” Aiden looked at files and sighed.

The girl looked perplexed instead.

“Samantha, pick all these files and transfer them to miss Stone’s office. She will handle this work now.” The girl was stunned and looked at Aiden as if he had grown another head.

Did he not tell him to not let Nora participate in an important task!? Did they not want her to isolate her in her own company? But now they want to transfer all the important decisions to her?

If she would wield so much power, would she not be given more importance? What if she proved herself then? This could be a disaster!

But she knew better than to speak all that aloud. She slowly nodded and picked up all those files. She was walking slowly as if she was waiting for them to change their mind. But when it did not happen, she could only walk away.

When Nora heard the knocks, he paused before letting the woman enter. She was stunned to see so many files in Chris’s secretary’s hands.

“Miss Stone,” the woman offered a professional smile, “boss said that you are to handle all this work.” She had no idea why. But Nora only stared at the files with a smile as if she knew that was going to happen.

“Yes, please put all of them here.” she nodded and Samantha could only follow.

Samantha still did not know that Chris had decided to sell his shares and she was going to end up with Nora eventually. She was perplexed with the situation. But as a good secretary, she wanted to prove her loyalty.

So, she smiled brightly, “if you need any help you can always call me. I am sure the boss would help you with any difficulty. After all, he had been in the company from the start.” from the start? From the start, the words started to echo in Nora’s mind as if on loop and then stood up suddenly.

The force pushed the chair away startling Samantha. She took a step back instinctively.

“You mean Mr Benard was the founding member of the company with my father and he did not join the business when my uncle took over it.” Samantha was stunned. She opened her mouth and closed it.

She knew that Chris was there from the start since she was working as his secretary from that time. But after a decade of working here, Chris had changed the documents one day.

She did not know why, but he had changed all the documents and proved that she had joined the company after David took over it.

“No, of course, not. Boss had come later than Mr Stone. But he is still the oldest person left now. Now, I should go. The boss might be looking for me.” Smanatha spoke nervously and left the room. She looked like she had seen the ghost.

“Sure. go ahead.” Nora returned to her seat in a composed manner. She had already started reading the files. Samantha took a breath of relief. Her lie was not caught. She left the office in a hurried steps. Only when she was gone did Nora raise her head. A tempest was storming in her eyes.

Samantha hurriedly found Aiden working on some document.

“Sir, are you busy?” Adien shook his head and waved his hands asking her to continue.

“Sir, Miss Stone is too suspicious. She was asking me strange questions like when the boss joined the company and all. You should not have transferred the work to her.” Aiden’s hand paused on the file and he looked at her with wife ‘s eyes full of rage.

“And what did you reply to her?” Samantha gulped. She did not dare to tell the truth.

“Of course I mentioned the date written in the documents. But sir, she is..” Aiden gritted his teeth. “Samantha, you should not poke your nose where it is not needed. And do not report about this to the boss. Did you get it?”
