Aiden held the phone with an ashen look on his face. His eyes widened with shock and he held the phone tightly until his fingers were numb.

“Sir! Our godown had suffered a raid. Somehow they knew that we had imported goods without paying custom duty. The charges of smuggling are attached with many other charges. The manager did not know how to respond to them and ran away. We are in a big mess.” Chris, who was sipping his tea and reading the suggestion given by Nora today, paused.

While the whole office was already empty, he did not leave. For some reason, he did not want to leave the office even when Nora had left.

He instinctively watched the time. It was too late. Most of the time, they only raid at this time if they have received an end moment tip.

He stood up with force. The file tore and fell on the ground at once. The air in the room shifted and Aiden was afraid to even breathe.

I had no idea they even existed. If someone asks, tell them I have no relation with those deals. Did any of them have my signature?” Aiden shook his head at once.

Chris had always been known as the best boss because he gives his employees a lot of authority. The manager and CEO of that business had full authority to do the transaction. They only discuss the matter on the phone. Even if they have meetings, Chris let them sign the papers. Who would have thought he was preparing for this day.

As the thought Dawned on Aiden, his hands clenched into a fist. Not only that manager and Ceo, but even had sighed many documents on behalf of Chris. He handled all the underworld business for Chris in exchange for a genius pay.

Chris watched his expressions changing. His eyes narrowed and he smiled.

“Aiden, I know that you will feel I am ruthless. But I went to jail, none of you have the power to bring me out. But if they both go to jail, we can wait till the matter cools down and then take them out.

I am sure after adding some bribe, the goods would be returned too.” Aiden’s gaze shifted again. That indeed seems possible.

He nodded at once with a gloomy face and dialled a few numbers.

Chris watched Aiden with a deep conflicted gaze. The man had been with Chris for a long time. He had helped him in securing many deals. He did not want to betray him. But he was too naive and kind for his own good. Chris slightly looked away from Aiden and fell deep in thoughts.

He had been an enemy of many businessmen from the start. But no one had ever succeeded in plotting against him and it was all thanks to the few men behind him. This time, everything was going the opposite.
