Chapter 413: Lost In The Past!
“Max! Why is she not waking up!” Max frowned as Alric shouted again. He stared at the girl with a frown. Her skin was cold dead. Her heart was beating and her pulse was normal.

“She has a fever. She is underwater for a long time. Her body must be exhausted.” he explained but Alric did not buy random excuses.

“It had been the whole night. You have already given her shots and I have changed the wet strips on her all night. It had been fifteen hours. She should have woken up.” Max sighed. Sometimes, he wished, Alric had not learnt basic things about treatment.

Now he treats himself no less than a doctor.

“Everyone had a different body, Alric. She only has a fever. She will wake up soon. If not..” he went silent.

Alric’s heart reached his throat and he looked at Max anxiously.

“If not?” the words felt like explosives had fallen on his body. He had confirmed the doctor and other staff. She had been home all day. Later, she was told that one of her friends was pregnant. There was nothing that could worry her to the limit that she stood under the shower with her clothes on.

Alric felt like a fool! He claimed that he loved her but there were so many things he still did not know about her. He did not know about her at all. And the thought had scared him for the first time.

As he watched her serene face, he felt uneasy. She only looked like she was sleeping yet he felt fear and trepidation. What if she never woke up? The thought was so strange yet it left his skin crawling.

“Then you must check with the psychiatry department. Perhaps she had received some kind of shock that her body failed to respond to.”

“Mommy! I am scared! I do not want to be beaten.” the little innocent voice was shivering, breaking Nora apart. She held the young girl in her arms and wept bitterly.

She hated herself for being this week. She hated to not be able to protect her daughter.

“Do not worry, baby! Mama is here, she will take good care of you.” she promised the child. The girl looked at her with her big animated eyes and slowly nodded.

“You should not be scared too, mommy. I will take care of you too.” the girl smiled and Nora’s heart ached.

But as she watched the beautiful face of her daughter, the screen around her changed. The girl kept holding Nora’s shoulder with a smile.

“You have to live a good life, mommy. We will meet at some point in the future.” the voice scared Nora. she looked at her daughter in confusion. As they were together! Why would they meet in the future?

But before she knew it, many images started glowing in the background: Max, Emma, Lucy, Victor, Alric.

As if a strong invisible hand had been pulling Nora away from her daughter. She tried to struggle but failed.

“You live a good life, mommy. I will come to meet you one day.” Nora struggled hard. But her body did not move

A strong pull was pulling away from her child.

“Ivy!” a loud shriek escaped her lips and she forced herself upon the smiling girl again. If she left, Ivy would be harmed by that monster.

As if the little girl had realized her mother’s struggle. She shook her head.

“It is time to let go, mom. Someone is waiting for you at the other end. You need to let go.” she touched Nora’s face with her tiny and soft hands. Nora closed her eyes at the touch and tears started to fall from her eyes.

“Nora! Nora! You need to wake up.” as the face of her daughter blurred. She heard someone screaming her name hard.

The voice was filled with pain and anxiety. A voice strong enough to shake her out. She looked around but her daughter had already faded as the images in the background.

She laid there in the dark, surrounded by nothing but darkness. When she heard the voice again.

Who was calling her with such pain.

“Nora! Wake up please.” the soft drops fell on her skin and she frowned. The dark cave suddenly lit with a ray of light.

And even though she did not want to, she was compelled to follow that light.

When Nora opened her eyes, Alric was holding her hands tightly. She tried to move, but she could not. Her body was attached with many wires and there were strange machines in the room. She blinked and stared at them in confusion.

Alric, who was leaning on the chair, felt the movement in his palm. He sat up straight and stared at her. Even when he was met with her blinking eyes, he kept staring at her as if it was only his illusion.

He did not react for a long time. Looking at his dazed face and the machines, Nora frowned. She did not remember much. But she was in the bathroom. The memories of last night and then her long nightmare made her shiver and she gasped as if air was thinning in the room.

Alric finally blinked and stared at her with widened eyes before slipping from the chair and sitting on the ground to reach her closer.

Before she could speak, he held her and pulled her in his arms.

“Alric!” Nora whispered, not so sure about anything. When she felt him shivering, she didn’t know how to react.

“You have scared me!” he whispered in a low voice, “i… I was waiting for such a long time. But you did not wake up. The doctors said you have received a shock and might have gone into a coma. I… I waited for so long. If anything would have happened to you. What would I have done Nora? How would I have survived?” Nora felt wetness on her neck as he kept complaining to her in a low voice.

“I…. “How many days has it been?”
