Chapter 416: Keep It Or Not!?
“Sir, a young girl is here to meet you. She told me her name was Nora Stone.” Chris, who was writing a note on a file, stopped. His hands paused and he stared at the housekeeper as if he heard wrong.

He was not the only one, Aiden stared at the woman in confusion too. When the woman did not change her statement, he ran to the window and peeked outside.

“Sir! She is really here.” Aiden could not hide the shock in his voice. “And she is not alone.” the man added when he noticed a figure looming over the girl as if protecting her.

As if Alric had sensed Aiden’s gaze, he raised his head and stared at Aiden with narrowed eyes. They were miles away, yet Aiden broke into cold sweat and took a step back.

Looking at his pale face covered with sweat, Chris felt disgust. He could not believe he had such a weak man around him.

But even he was curious! Why was the couple here?

“Bring them in, i will be there shortly.” the housekeeper nodded and left the room. She invited the couple with a sweet smile.

But when she guided them to the waiting room, she was stunned to see Nat walking in the corridor. As if she was a disgusting creature. The woman’s face went ugly as soon as she saw Nat.

“What are you doing here? Go and rest in your room. Hurry up!”Nat blinked and then stared at the couple standing behind the housekeeper with curious eyes.

The housekeeper only looked furious when nat did not leave at once but stood there like a fool.

“Did you not hear me?” she repeated with impatience and nat finally tore her gaze away from the couple. She looked back at the housekeeper and bit her lips.

“But I vomited again and now I am feeling hungry. I am going to the kitchen.” she said in a nervous voice that belonged to a naive child.

“….” the housekeeper was speechless. Could this girl not read the room at all? Nora laughed behind the woman, making her blush.

“This..”

“It is alright. Can you guide us to the room while the housekeeper cooks something for you?” Nora smiled at nat.

Nat blinked with her eyes widening. She had never thought she could do it. She looked back at the housekeeper for her permission.

It deepened the housekeeper’s blush. Nora raised a brow.

“She is not the girl Chris is dating?” Now the question was directed to the housekeeper. It was filled with confusion and curiosity.

The woman did not call chris mr Benard. So they might be closer. Business associate perhaps. She could not lie about Nat’s presence!

And to think a girlfriend needed permission from the housekeeper sounds strange even for her ears. She did not want mr Benard to punish both of them later because of the strange questions.

And he would be here any moment. Nat would not be with them for a long time. Once she cleared thoughts in her mind, she cleared her throat and smiled.

“She is too young so she easily gets nervous. She is too reserved and recently she is suffering from the flu and an upset stomach. Right Natalie?” The woman eyes the girl, earning a quick nod from her.

She took a breath of relief. At least the girl was not a complete fool! The housekeeper smiled warmly at Nora and then turned to look at Nat. “Miss Natalie, would you please guide both of them to the meeting room while I go and prepare something for you?” The girl looked too conscious but she did not dare to refuse the order.

She nodded softly and guided Nora to the meeting room. The whole way to the room, they did not share a word. Alric and Nora were discussing how the deal was important while Nat was walking with her head low.

Nora complimented the girl that her dress was pretty. But except nodding, Nat did not reply. Nora shrugged and continued her conversation with Alric.

Two maids who noticed it, did not find anything suspicious. They continued their work.

Nat took them to the second last room in the hallways. As soon as the door was closed, Nora ran to the girl. She held Nat’s hands tightly, making the girl freeze on her spot.

“How are you?” Nat was stunned. She looked at Nora as if the words fell into her ears but she could not understand its meaning. She kept staring at Nora.

“I received your letter? I am sorry. Am I late?” finally the girl blinked as if she had only returned to her senses now. She looked at Alric and then at Nora.

“What are you doing miss? I do not know you and I do not understand what you meant? Please take a step back. I am not comfortable with the proximity.” she pushed Nora away slightly and took a step back instinctively.

But Nora only sighed. Her eyes dimmed but she hid the discomfort instantly and gave an assured smile to Nat.

“There are no cameras here, you do not need to act.” the girl blinked and scanned the room without moving from her place. She was trying her best to be discreet.

“A man like him would never place a camera in his meeting room and study with fear that his own recording could be used by one of his servants one day. He is too suspicious of people around him. He would not even keep important documents here. You.. he only trusts you because he underestimates you.” Nora spoke with a confident smile. Alric turned to look at her with a complex gaze while Nat just stared at her and slowly nodded.

“It does sound like him. But what if you are wrong?” Nora only smiled. She could not be wrong, because she had known Chris for a lifetime.

“We do not have much time. Tell me, Nat! Do you want to keep this child or abort it?”
