Chapter 417: Belong To A Monster
Nat knew the question was like a hanging sword on her head. One wrong reply and it would take her life.

This child! Her first child belonged to that monster. Her hands reach for her belly instinctively. If not for the report, there was no sign of her being pregnant. She looked thinner and gaunt. Her eyes were sunken and though the marks on her skin were fading, Nora knew better that all this had left a mark on her mind, her soul that would never leave.

Nora felt pain. She never wanted another girl to suffer her fate.

“I have told you you should not do this.” Nora whispered in a low voice.

The girl finally looked at him with a wry smile on her face.

“And I have told you I will do it whether you help me or not! This man had ruined my family. He had killed my father and destroyed my brother because he wanted to marry my brother’s girlfriend. I had nowhere to go. If not for you… but I did not do this for you or anyone else. I did this for my peace. Even if i live a long life, it would have been meaningless. But now, even if I die, I will drag him to hell with me..” her voice was thin and feeble but it had an insurmountable amount of determination which made her look strong.

“And this child..”

“I am not sure.” the girl accepted honestly. She did not want to act strong in front of Nora. For some reason, Nora had already told her what Chris could do and if Nora had endured everything herself, her prediction was spot on.

Even the sequence of the acts and the aftermath after the torture was same. She stared at Nora with bare emotions.

“I don’t know what will happen to me in the future. How could I keep another life with me!” it might be her illusion but she felt Nora was hurt and disappointed.

“It does not matter, Nat. you will be out of this and live a good life! I will make sure of it. But can you keep the child of your enemy? If you do not want to, you can abort it or…” Nora hesitated for a long time as if facing an internal battle, but in the end, she still said it, “or give it to me. I will take good care of her!”

“Her?” Nat frowned. The child was too little to know her gender. Not everyone hopes to have a boy instead!

“Nora..” before Nat could speak, Alric wrapped his arms around Nora and pulled her away from Nat. he pushed her on the sofa and leaned on him.

Before Nat could react, the door swung open. Chris was standing there with a dark face. A Cold faced housekeeper and Aiden was behind him. He looked at Nat as if he wanted to tear her apart.

Nat flinched and shrunk instinctively looking at his dark face.

“Miss natalie! I have made a salad for you. How about we sit in the dining room and enjoy it with a glass of fresh juice.” the housekeeper signalled Nat. The girl was quick to save her life. She nodded and followed the housekeeper out of the room. But as she walked past Chris at the door, she felt a cold chill on her spine.

The way he looked at her. She knew he wanted to kill her at this moment. She remembered how he had called her Nora again and again when he had raped her for the first time.

She knew he did not want her to meet Nora! But to think that he would never have the girl he likes gave her a strange pleasure too. She must be twisted after living with him for a long time.

She ignored the fear and left the room. Chris watched her back with a murderous gaze. Only when he could not see her anymore did he turn to look at the coupole.

Alric and Nora were sitting too close on the sofa. It was like she was almost sitting on his lap. Chris’s mood worsened at once.

“What brought you here without any prior appointment?” He raised a brow and forced a professional smile on his face as he walked closer and took the other side of the sofa. Aiden followed and stood behind him with a guarded look.

“It has been weeks since you came to the company. We have recently launched a new list of products and it was a mess without you.” Nora started and Chris smirked.

“So the princess missed me and came to invite me!” he chuckled with a provoking look toward Alric, “and his guard had come to protect her here?”

Alric stared back intently with no expressions on his face but his eyes spoke volumes.

“On the other hand, I am here to ask your final answer, Mr Benard! Are you interested in selling your shares or not?” Chris paused and titled his gazde to meet her eyes.

Nora sighed.

“We need your signature on many documents because you hold a good position. But if you are ready to sell your shares or at least let me work as coo instead. Work would be easier. How could a coo be this negligible!” she looked at him with a disapproving gaze, making him frown at once.

He had been busy with his own companies and ignoring her calls recently.

“I am still thinking about it.” he replied half heartedly. Her face went dark instantly.

“I am here with a better offer.” Nora shook her head. “With double the market price, I will even offer you five percent shares of my new company. It’s a new start up. An IT solutions company. And though it is still new, it has already secured many international contracts. You can read about it before you decide.” She passed the details to Aiden.

Aiden watched Chris before accepting the file.

“Five percent shares? Do you think…”

“With double the price of your shares!”
