“That is..”

“Chris Benard! This is my last offer. If you disagree, I will not buy your shares again until you offer them to me at market price.” her voice had a hint of warning. Aiden stiffened at that.

They need cash inflow. They need help and the new company indeed sounds promising. And it was for free. Even if she did not offer it, he still wanted that double the price.

He looked at Chris with a look of urgency. But Chris did not even look back at him. He was staring at Nora as if they both were clasing their ego.

“You are threatening me?” he spat those words with venom in his voice but Nora just shrugged.

“I am offering you a deal, Mr Benard. But you do not appreciate me. I would rather invest the amount in my new company then. A good businessman knows which deal would be beneficial for him.” she sighed and then looked at Alric. “I am sorry, I have thought… forget it.”

Though she did not say anything, Chris could feel his cheek burning. She was apologizing for bringing Alric here. She was apologizing that she forced Alric to waste his time on a fool like Chris.

His chest burnt and he stood up at once.

“Sir! The deal is indeed good. We can..”

“Shut up.” Chris glared at Aiden. He was not sure if the man was working for him or for Nora. These past few days, he only talked about Nora and her deal.

“”If you want a deal, go and sign it yourself.” he spat words with more hostility, making Aiden pause.

And then he glared at Nora. Even if she had come for business, she could have been kinder, sweeter, and she could have come alone. But she was here to mock him! And he could never accept it. A woman mocking him! Chris Benard! He was not a man she could trifle with.

“Nora Stone, forget about this company, I will buy all your companies and force you to work for me.” he challenged her with a smirk.

Nora blinked, she looked at him as if she was looking at a lunatic. She had a hint of pity in her eyes as she slowly shook her head.

“Then we have nothing to discuss with you anymore.” she spoke in a plain voice and then looked at Aiden. “It is a pity really!” Alric stood up and held her hands.

Chris watched with gritting teeth as they both left the room. Nora paused in front of Aiden and whispered something. Aiden stiffened at once but nodded back.

The girl smiled at him charmingly and then left the room without giving another glance to Chris.

“You are working for her. Are you not?” Aiden was stunned by the sudden outburst.

“What..! no! Boss!” but Chris was not in the mood to listen. He had enough of this crap.

He takes too slow but forceful steps toward Aiden.

“Boss! You have been drinking a lot these days. I could never betray you. Now is not the time to argue. We should work hard to come out of this mess if you are not planning to sell those shares!” he explained in a helpless tone as he saw Chris.

Despite the foul and moody nature of Chris, he had always enjoyed working for Chris. Because Chris had brains. He was a genius when it comes to planning and strategy. And he had good contacts too. But recently, Chris had not only lost his good contacts but as if his brain was also stolen.

He is easy to fight and argue and often loses his composure. As if he could not differentiate between his benefits and losses.

“Boss!” Chris paused when Aiden screamed in a loud voice. He stared at frowning Aiden and then at the closed door.

“I only want to earn more for the company. If we do not handle the situation well, you will be bankrupt soon.” Chris paused at those words.

He ran a hand in his hand and closed his eyes. What happened to him? Why was he fighting with Aiden? There was something wrong with his mood recently.

“You are… right. We should meet the investors. IT Solutions! It seems like a good plan. You know I have an idea too.” Chris went to his room and took out an old file.

“I have been planning to start this company last year but got distracted. She said she is still at the initial stage, right? What if we launch our first range of products before her. We need to intimidate Nora Stone or she and Alric would keep attacking us.” Aiden took a breath of relief to see Chris thinking again.

He nodded as he looked at the file.

“I will get anything you want. As long as you are ready to fight the boss.” His words had hidden meanings. But Chris got it easily. His eyes refocused and he nodded.

Aiden walked closer and Without wasting another second, he opened his laptop and registered a new company. He started working on the documents and list of members at once.

“Leave all the formalities for me, boss. You should focus on the services we provide. We need a good presentation and report to snatch her contracts or get better ones.” as Chris watched Aiden working, he felt like his head was spinning. It felt too strange. He had worked all his life and never felt exhausted but now.. He frowned and shook his head again.

He sat down and opened his laptop too. Soon, the only sound that filled the room belonged to their laptops keys. Aiden discreetly watched Chris from time to time. As Chris worked, his concentration was improving and he was working better.

He took a breath of relief. He was afraid that it would be hard to convince the chris. Nora’s visit was a blessing in disguise.

“Boss! About the funds for the new company.” Chris paused. He stared at his screen for a long time.

“I will sell the entertainment company first.”
