Chapter 420: Extra Cautious!
Nat stared at the ceiling feeling exhausted. Like she had been running for a long time but not reaching anywhere and now even her bones were tired.

She did not want to move even an inch. Her hands reached for her belly. The monster had stopped hurting her to save this child. Her child! Or his child?

What if it was a boy that looked and behaved like Chris? Would she ever be able to love him? No! She would be abhorred and wanted to kill that child. But… What if it was a girl that looked like her? An innocent girl with many dreams.

A tear fell from her eyes just by thinking that she would kill that innocent child. Nora had told her to hurry or it would be too late!

But how could she hurry!? She did not have the heart to kill her own child but at the same time, she was afraid that she could not accept the child that belonged to him, her monster.

“Nat! It is noon already? Are you not planning to wake up today?” The housekeeper knocked on the door again with a frown.

Nat stared at the door. She could hear the voices but could not understand them. Her mind was buzzing. Everything felt distant! Fading and soft whispers seem to be falling away. She shook her head and tried to hear again. But the voice did not make any sense to her.

The door opened and she saw the housekeeper walking to her. She could see the frown on her face and her lips moving. But she could not hear her.

The woman bent and shook Nat hard. The fog started to dissipate and Nat blinked.

“What were you thinking? You did not hear me at all.” the woman complained. At least she knew that nat did not hear her. She would not punish them. Right?

As if reading her thoughts, the woman turned to look at nat.

“What are you thinking about?” Nat covered her belly and looked around.

The woman narrowed her eyes.

“Are you worried about the child?” Nat sighed softly. Worrying is a small word. Pregnant women worry about the safe delivery of the child, about the proper growth of the child in their belly and about their own health. She did not have these kinds of worries.

She wanted to hide somewhere to never come out. Could this also be called a worry. The woman stared at nat and sighed.

“I know that it is hard since you are too young. But everything would be alright, you would live a happy life once you give birth.” she announced as if it was a fact. She could guarantee it.

Nora watched the greedy woman and wondered how many women were ruined in front of her eyes. Yet she never blinked! Never whispered about it or cared about it.

And now she cared about this unborn child. What a joke? Nat could not even laugh. She stared at the woman and then at the ceiling again lost in her thoughts.

The housekeeper frowned. Nat looked like a dead being. She looked like she had given up the will to live. It was not good for a child. She was expecting a good bonus for taking care of the mother. If the pregnancy did not go well, she would suffer huge losses. Just thinking about it made her frown!

She could notice so many marks on Nat’s body and imagine Nat had a rough night. She must be feeling down because of it. But she couldn’t let nat feel low or it would affect the child.

No! It could not continue! Nat had to stand up and enjoy, she had to give birth to a healthy child! Just thinking about it made her frown. She forced nat to sit on the bed.

“If you kept lying like this, you would feel bad. Come with me, we will go out today.” Nora finally blinked and stared at the woman in confusion.

The housekeeper smiles in reply with warmth in her eyes.

“We should go out and eat something delicious. We can go to a kid’s store too. Maybe you like things there.” she encouraged Nat who was finally listening.

The women smiled when nat frowned but nodded in the end.

“You know it is hard to be alone all the time. How about we go and watch a movie too. You will feel better after watching a good show. Or do you have any friends? Though it would be hard, I can try to convince Mr Benard to let you meet your old friends.” she spoke in an uncertain voice as she waited for a reply.

Nat shook her head. She did not want another night where he would ravage her. Chris did not believe in making love! He only knew how to take pleasure from a body making sure the body did not feel anything but repulsion in exchange.

Nat picked up the glass of water and drank a mouthful. She could feel the uneasy gaze of the woman and knew she was worried.

“No! I am not in contact with other people. And I do not want to go for a movie either. Eating out would be enough.” She pushed the blanket away and the woman noticed more marks on her body.

She looked away as if she did not notice anything. Nat did not care about her reaction. She held the blanket and walked to the washroom. The hot shower made her feel much better. The water cleaned her filthy skin or at least, she forgot about the filth for some time. After rubbing her skin until it was red and sore, she took a deep breath and came out wearing the bath robe.

The woman had already taken out a fresh dress for her. Nat sat on the chair and she helped Nat in covering the marks on the visible part of her body. She even combed her hair for her.

Nat raised a brow. The woman was too cautious today.

“We are good to go.”
