Chapter 429: A Tragic Past
“No!” Nora shook her head and sighed. Should she tell him that she did not like him in the past? He was cold and brutal. And though he still did so many charities that had helped her in her treatment, she could feel the hatred in his bones.

She was afraid of him and even compared him with Benard in her mind. She shook her head on those past memories.

“I mean we have met a few times through Max. and I have given you some information when you told me you want to open the same business. But that was it.” she could notice the shift in his mood.

Earlier it looked like he was worried that she had lost her mind and was having hallucinations. But now he was considering the idea. Finding ways to link this present with her past memories.

At least not from me.” she could feel his grip tightening around her arms.

“Ava was devastated. She had lost her sanity and wanted to commit suicide. I heard that your father divorced her and found another wife. It was his secretary. And you… Amyra must have been awful.” he sighed and wrapped her arms around him as if trying to secure her from the past memories.

“So we both had a bad ending. Hmmm?” he chucked at that. “Perhaps, that is why we are together! To write a better ending for each other.” Nora nodded softly.

She could hear his thumping heartbeat that matched her own.

“Do you believe me now?” it was hard to accept she knew! “I do not mind if you do not trust me. I know it sounds strange.” Alric nodded. But then sighed again.

“Yes, it is hard to believe, Nora. But I have had my doubts for a long time. How did you know that Mojo company existed? Not only that, you knew it was going to work so well. Look at it, it had already entered overseas and became one of the top ten companies. Not only this… your other companies too. You speak about the ideas, about the products as if you have seen them, used them. Though you have no idea how those are made and how the plan would work.

Nora closed her eyes feeling his warmth against her cold skin.

“But you can not run nora.” he whispered softly. “You have done a good job so far. You have punished your uncle and aunt and your cousin for their crimes. Why are you getting weak now? Chris Benard was the worst among them. You must punish him with a cold heart.” Nora nodded. She had never felt pity on that man.

Even if he was showing concern for Nat now that she was expecting his child. But if it would not be a son, that care would vanish and then another hell would start. That man could not change. And even if he would, she would not forgive him. But….
