Nora watched both of them intently with a smile on her face. She was a fool to believe Alric did not care! But did he not care for Alex enough to hire people to protect him. Do not care that Alex hates him and is still ready to sacrifice his own life for him.

And now Max. Alric did not pay attention to her at all after dressing her up so much. He continued to engage Max in all kinds of conversation with a grim face. From the emergency unit to the stock of medicines. Nora was sure Max had no idea about those stocks so as Alric.

He just did not know how to express well. She should be patient with him. Perhaps he panicked because he was not prepared for the marriage yet. She smiled as she looked out of the car. In her past, she had never imagined she would feel this peaceful, for her revenge was enough.

But now, life feels so meaningful that she does not care about revenge anymore. She could happily die again living like this.

“Nora… Nora.” Nora blinked and looked at the both men now looking at her.

“What.. Did I miss something?” she asked, blinking and sitting straight when Alric frowned and Max chuckled.

“We have arrived, Nora. you were looking out of the window. Right?” Nora instinctively looked out of the window and noticed a large crowd.

“Ah! There is so much crowd.” her words were full of confusion and Max chuckled harder.

Alric stared at him before looking back at her.

“Yes, we should go inside perhaps?”

“Oh! Yes, we should do that.” Nora cleared her throat and opened the door. Max shook his head.

Nora sprinted away when Alric and Max opened their door and walked out.

“She must be thinking about her future. Perhaps imagining herself with a lot of kids or grandkids!” Alric’s eyes widened at that thought.

“Kids!” He was not prepared for them. He was not even sure if he wanted them.

“Of course, I am sure, she wants many!” Max laughed looking at Alric’s pale face.

“But for now, you should follow her or we will not get an entry inside.” Max teased again. Alric shook his head but his eyes still had that dazed look as they walked inside the large hall.

The security manager stopped Alric at the door. He looked around but he could not see Nora. frowning, he took out his card and passed it to the security.

The man frowned and was about to refuse when he noticed Spencer written in gold on a perfectly black card. He stiffened at once and opened the door for him.

“Sir..” he gulped. What if Alric blamed him later. But Alric did not notice the man. His eyes started to search for Nora.

The program started and an announcer informed us about the game. In the background there was a large projector showing the game features and four players started playing the game soon. Its livestream was shown on the large projector too.

Many reporters were taking pictures and the mood was lively. But Nora was not there. Where did the girl go?

“There!” Max elbowed Alric as he pointed at the corner. Victor was standing there with Nora. he was leaning close to her ear and whispering something. Nora nodded and then smiled as she raised her head.

Alric’s eyes narrowed and before he knew, he had started walking toward them.

“Hey! Watch.. Oh sir!” He bumped into a few men but he did not pause or wait for their apology.

“I know, you do not need to worry about your mother. I will not tell her anything.” she smiled when Alric held her hand and pulled her a step back.

Nora was surprised by the sudden touch but she smiled when she noticed him.

“Did you have trouble entering? I have informed the guard that you are with me.” she smiled amiably. But Alric only watched Victor.

Victor tensed under the gaze.

“You should have waited for me.” Alric frowned and pulled her further close and wrapped his arm around her waist. The provoking in his eyes did not go unnoticed by Victor. His eyes dimmed and he shook his head. Nora noticed the tensed air between them but ignored it.

“Ah! Victor met me at the door. He was worried that I would be too late. After this livestream, they are going to interview me. He wanted to assure me that I was prepared. Did you have trouble entering in?” she wrapped her hand around his arm and leaned on him intimately as she pointed at the projector.

Alric felt the warmth of her skin on his cold fingertips. For some reason, his expression relaxed and he felt much better.

“Hmm, are you prepared for the interview?” he asked in a calm tone when she smiled back.

“As long as you are with me, I am prepared for anything.” Alric blinked and then smiled. His eyes softened at once.

“Victor, can he come with me on the stage?” she asked, turning to him. Alric narrowed his eyes on the man. Victor looked back at the stage where his father was going to speak soon.

“Of course, Alric SPencer is a walking advertisement. Who would refuse such a hype. It would be better that he speak something about the game too.” he nodded, despite the burning feeling in his chest.

Nora smiled brightly and pulled Alric with him. Victor watched them leave. He knew that Alric was following Nora. he had intentionally pulled her in without him. He wanted Alric to realize what he had felt. But Alric did not blame Nora. he knew that it was Victor’s trick.

Victor had a wry smile on his face as he realized he was too immature. A woman like Nora would never settle for a boy! She needed a man in his life and Alric was a man she deserved.

“I wish you had a good life with him, Nora.”
