“And I designed the game because I wanted the legacy to continue. The powerpuff girls had been our inspiration as a child. And in this game..” Nora smiled brightly toward the cameras as she spoke in a poised way. As if she had faced these cameras all her life. Alric sat beside her without speaking a word. Occasionally looking at her and smiling. Yet, the cameraman and reporters felt overwhelmed.

Alric had never accepted an interview. He glared at them ruthlessly and if anyone tried to follow him or shoot him discreetly, they would lose their job. Very few knew what he looked like in real life. But now he was sitting grandly on the stage supporting a novice game designer.

Either they all were dreaming or… this young girl was going to be the future of Spencer group. They could not help but shudder with excitement at that thought.

They were going to be first to grab this news.

“And that is all. I hope you like the game too.” Nora bowed her head slightly toward the cameras and turned to look at Alric. Alric picked up the glass of water from the table and passed it to her as he held her purse for her.

God! They did not stop their cameras. This juicy news was much more important than this game! Their newspaper was going to burn the financial news soon.

Who would have thought that the elder son of Spencer’s group would date a girl so young with no background.

They both stood up holding each other’s hand and walked away from the stage. Manager Langdon took Nora’s place and started speaking with a confident smile and bold look on her face. But no one was hearing her. As if they do not care about the game or its team.

Their eyes and cereals were following Alric. Yet no one dared to take the pictures openly. What if they lost their jobs like before.

“Who is this girl anyway?” asked a reporter when they wrapped up the last interview. He could not take his gaze away from the couple.

Nora was eating something and Alric was holding the glass of juice for her. He looked smitten by her beauty and could not take his gaze away.

“She looked like a young college girl! Isn’t it juicy news! I am going to dig up all her stories from her college.” another gasped with excitement and all the reporters nodded.

Mrs Jhonson signed. She was sitting in the audience since she did not interfere in business but her eyes were filled with disappointment. When Victor noticed it, he walked to her with a glass of champagne.

“Mother!” he leaned on her. “You must be exhausted after waiting for so long. Would you come with me? I will introduce you to our new team.” She knew that Victor had already noticed her actions, so she did not try to hide.

She nodded at his son before sighing.

“Are you regretting it now?” she had told him to treat Nora preciously. With just one look she knew Nora was a mature girl and would have a glorious future. And it would not be limited to the gaming world. But Victor did not take her seriously.

“What is there to regret? I could not have provided the world Nora needed. I am happy that she has found what she deserves.” Mrs Jhonson signed but she patted her son;s shoulder. Finally, he had grown up.

“You did the right thing, son. I am proud of you. And I hope you will find your happiness too.” Victor shook his head. He was happy with the life he had.

“We can leave since I am done anyways.” Nora took the juice and took a sip before putting the glass back on the table. She could feel every single eye on them. “You did it intentionally. Don’t you?” The way he served her, even she was charmed even though she knew it was all for the camera.

“But why here?” they could have used any place. As long as he had stood holding the hand of a woman, it was going to be news. She looked at him curiously when he smiled back and caressed her cheeks. Touching her, it still felt surreal but now she was hers! Sealed and stamped. No one could take her away.

“It was not only for the reporters!” he admitted without guilt. “I want your ex to know that you belong to me now.”

“….” Max was the first to laugh and break the silence only then did Nora blink. A man like Alric had no comparison with a young boy like Victor.

“Could it be you are jealous or insecure Mr Alric?” she teased. Since he could embarrass her by holding her hands for the whole interview. She would return the favor to him.

But the man did not flush or blink. He just nodded with a grim face.

“I am not only jealous, Nora. I am possessive. You belong to me now so I would not let any man look at you anymore.” he declared as if he was taking a solemn oath. Nora was short of words. She opened her mouth and shut it again before shaking her head.

She was not going to argue with this big man who loves behaving like a child.

“Nora.” she looked at Max who was staring at both of them strangely. “If you have time, you can come to my office tomorrow.”

Nora nodded at once and Alric’s eyes narrowed.

“Did you not hear me, Max?” His tone was full of warning. Max looked back at him and they both stared at each other intently. Nora frowned at the tension between them and bit her lips.

“Alric..” she held his arm and the man finally scowled and added.

“I will not accept the second time.” said Alric, making Max smile again.

“You will learn Alric. Your girlfriend is very popular when it comes to the opposite gender.”
