Chapter 452: Armed Men

“Are you okay?” Emma helped Nat in the bed. The man came forward with a glass of water. Emma raised a brow with a smile.

Nat closed her eyes and took breath as if she was gasping for air.

“I am fine! I just need a moment.” Emma nodded. She walked toward the window where the man was supposed to keep a watch.

“They have called for help.” she watched as two cars had stopped in front of the house a few minutes ago.

Chris, his assistant were in the first car and five armed men were in the other. They had entered the house and were enquiring.

The man looked at EMma’s grave face with anxiety.

“Should we leave this place?” He stopped and walked behind Emma.

“No! We would be in danger on the road. They must have sealed the nearby areas and kept a watch. We are better here.” The mwna frowned, not at all believing her.

“But didnt you enter this house in front of one of them. Why did you not kill all of them when you had the chance?” he looked disappointed at her actions.

“They were only paid for doing the job. They meant no harm. I will not kill until it is necessary.” she frowned, shifting her weight on the other feet. “You are forgetting that you could be discarded like them too.”

“The man frowned. “But what now? They could come here anytime!” Emma shook her head. It had been minutes. If they wanted to come, they would have.

“No one had seen us entering here. You can go and rest or take care of the lady. I am working here.” the man glared at EMma. For him, she was not serious enough. She was too impulsive for this work.

But she was his senior and he could not force her to leave. He sighed and returned to Nat.

“Madam, do you need tea or coffee? Or you want to eat something first?” Nat shook her head mildly and turned to look at Emma.

“We need to warn Emma. the man is going to attack her.” Emma’s brows furrowed and then she laughed suddenly.

“He had already acted. Do not worry, Nora is fine. And we will soon go and meet her but for now, you must eat something and rest!” Nat was not sure. Chris was more dangerous than they thought. If Nora was still fine, it only meant that he was only giving a warning before actually attacking.

“Emma..”

“Nat! She is with Alric. He would keep her safe. You should be more worried about yourself. Do you want to share more? Any information would be good? Or do you want to go to the hospital for a checkup?” Nat shook her head. She winced as she tried to sit up. Though she was not severely injured, her body had many small marks and wounds.

Her cheek was swollen badly and her one eye was hardly open.

“Hospitals would not be safe. As you said, being on the road is not safe.” Emma sighed.

“I have called for help too. Alric would be here with Nora any moment. We just need to hold on till then.” She turned her head to look out when she heard noises. They men had come out armed and now knocking on the doors of the neighborhood. EMma bit her lips.

“They would be here any moment. We need to prepare. You can shoot?” the man stiffened. He nodded but looking at his pale face, Emma didn’t have any hope.

“Damn it!” she cursed as she refilled bullets in her gun. She had already reached for the stairs and hid behind the door.

A car pulled in front of their house followed by four more cars. Emma gulped. This was more than she had imagined.

“I am in deep trouble.” she winced but her eyes sparked with a strange thrill. She held the door ready to attack any moment. But when the door of the car opened, it left her stunned.

She looked dumbfounded as many armed men came out of the cars one by one. But this time, she knew these men and the one leading them.

She watched as Alric personally stood in front of the four armed men of Chris. Chris was glaring at Alric.

She opened the door with confidence and joined them. Everyone paused and craned their neck to see her.

Chris’s men pointed at her instantly and started whispering. The man’s eyes hardened. He looked at Alric accusatory.

“I do not want to start a fight, Mr Spencer. But this girl had killed my men and took my fiance with her. As long as you return my fiance and give her to me, I will forget about this accident.” his voice was cold and commanding but Alric only smirked as if an ant was trying to threaten an Elephant.

“What if I do not listen to you? What can you do?” the haughty gaze of Alric swam over those few men Chris had brought. “You do not even have the manpower to threaten me, Chris. Accept it, you have lost.” the man stiffened, looking shocked.

He looked at Alric as if he was looking at a ghose before his eyes narrowed and he glared.

“Are you going against me?” his voice was provoking but ALric only laughed and waved his hands.

His men took out the gun and pointed at Chris with a dark gloomy face. One more signal and they would shoot without hesitation.

“My girl is too kind. She didn’t like blood on her hands. But I am not like her. The smell of blood satiated me, Chris. You can try.” he smiled but it was not a smile that one could accept.

Chris stiffened and glared with a hard look. Alric stood there leisurely and turned to look at Emma.

“Are you alright?” Emma nodded looking pale.

“You can leave with the girl. I will handle here.” he smiled, “good work, little girl”
