Chapter 454: Who Would Want Her!

“Is she okay?” Max frowned as he pulled Nat’s top above and checked wounds on her back. This was inhumane. It had been years since he had seen marks of cigarettes on someone’s body. Every mark was left where it could not be seen easily.

He wanted to vomit just looking at her condition. How much had she suffered. He shook his head to clear that image from his eyes.

“She needs treatment. For the baby, for herself and for… come, i need to discuss this.” he pointed Nora to follow him but Nora did not move making him frown

“Nat! Do you want to join the discussion?” Max pausedi n his tracks and looked at Nora with a stunned gaze.

“Nora!” he warned. But Nora did not turn to look at him. She helped Nat in lowering her gown and smiled sweetly.

“Do you want to come, nat?” the woman hesitated as her gaze moved from Max to Nora and then back to Max. her cheskes burning suddenly.

“Would that be okay?” she asked so softly that Max was going to nod before he realized what he was doing. He shook his head and grimaced at Nora.

“Nora! She is a patient.” Nora raised a brow as if it was amusing.

“Therefore she had the right to know about herself!” Nora announced as if it was the natural thing to do and Max realized it was his line. But he was sure he had never said that line to Nora. How did she know?

It was not the first time that he felt Nora knew about him more than he had ever let her. That was the only reason he was curious about her in the first place! The way she looked at him and spoke to him as if she had known him for ages. The look of losing a friend and a longing that could never be fulfilled.

“I would like to come if no one minds.” Max blinked! Shocked that he was lost in his thoughts. Nat had already stood up from the bed and was now looking at him with eager eyes.

He sighed and started walking. Women! He could never win against them.

He sat on his office chair and started writing.

“The patient had suffered mental and physical abuse. I am afraid many of these marks are permanent and would never go until she chose a plastic surgery of her body. Second, I will prefer it if you join psychiatric treatment too. Sometimes, the wounds are not visible. But it affects our mind more than we ever realize!

Again meeting a counselor doesn’t make you crazy. It only gives you a chance to share things you can not share with others.” he sighed looking at Natalie. This was not the first time he had seen abuse or suggested counseling.

But this was the first time a patient was listening to him so calmly as if they were talking about someone else.

“The baby in your womb is too weak. I will suggest you let go of it. Since he is weak and you do not have good memories about him. Natalie, since you want to hear it, I will be frank with you. I do not believe in idealistic words. You would never be able to accept the child full of love for him since he would remind you of the abuse you have suffered. It is closer to three months. But i think we can handle it without operation. If you sign here.” he had already taken out a forma and passed it to her.

He watched as Nora stiffened and looked ashen suddenly, but he ignored her. Nora was too young to understand it. Nat is still a child herself. And after going through such an experience, he was sure she was not prepared for the baby.

“I…” nat hesitated as she looked at the form in her hands confused and lost.

Nora felt like his heart had been ripped away from her body. She looked at Nat’s belly as if.. It was painful yet he steeled her heart and placed her hand on Nat;s shoulders.

The girl looked at Nora confused and guilty! Why?

“You can do whatever you want with the child, Nat! I promise that I will be here with you and support you in every decision.” The girl started crying and so did Nora. They both hugged each other and cried as if he had bullied them.

Max was not sure if he should stay or leave. This was his office! But when he noticed that they had no intention of stopping anytime soon, he stood up from his seat and left his own office. A big mistake. The moment he walked out, he saw a long line of patients waiting for him.

They all titled their hands and looked at him as if he was a sinner. Wasting time during this duties! They all admonished him with their gazes. Max coughed and entered the room again.

Nora had stopped crying at this moment and rubbing Nat’s back.

“There there! It will be fine. You can sign the papers.” She picked up a pen and passed it to Nat. at last! He looked at them relieved but Nat only held the pen tightly and kept staring at the papers.

Nora’s eyes started to brim with hope again. But Max felt irked for some reason. He picked up the glass of water and forwarded it toward

“I will keep the child.” her jaw clenched looking protective. Max frowned and looked at Nora for help but the girl was smiling brightly looking relieved.

He looked conflicted but in the end, sighed.

“Take your time and think about it wisely. You are too young and can be pregnant again easily.” he tried to explain but the woman just sneered.

“Look at me carefully, doctor. Who would…” she paused her eyes widening and then looking sorrowful, as she nodded and hastily left the room. Max did not need her to speak to know the rest of the words! He wanted to tell her.. “There would be many!”
