Chapter 463: In The News

“Boss! Your girlfriend is on the news with a reputed doctor. She has filed a complaint against you.” Chris was still in the board meeting. He was asking for another chance when the board showed their displeasure against him.

He paused and stood up from his seat earning the attention of everyone. “Boss, you need to leave the office. Police could be there any moment. I will arrange a car for you. They will take you to the safe zone until we handle this matter.” the man on the other side continued.

Chris’s face darkened but he knew this was going to happen. That was why he had sent his elite force to follow that car and search for Nat. but they have not yet succeeded.

He had still hoped that it would take some time. He gritted his teeth and rushed to the door but the shareholders did not let him go easily.

“Mr Benard! We are not finished yet. Please sit down and explain yourself.” they demanded in a cold voice. Chris paused as he looked at the seven men while holding the door from the other hand.

“Your new product failed. not only that the other company had claimed plagiarism and theft. It is a serious accusation. How is our company going to handle it?” the man asked in a cold voice with a disapproving look.

“I heard it is similar to your other companies too. It could be a coincidence once or twice but how could your every product suffer the same fate, Mr Benard. Please explain or we are forced to give the management to someone else.” another announced with an authoritative look.

“Not only that, you have to return the money you have taken from the company account. It is a crime. But we will not take action against you as long as you return it with interest.” The man had a haughty composure.

“And..”

“That is enough!” Just when the fourth man had started his lecture, Chris shouted in a cold voice and silenced the man. “You all have been here because I have worked hard in the company. I have increased the price of the share from bare minimum to this position. Now that I have failed in a few projects, you think you can get rid of me so that you could enjoy my wealth alone. I am not that easy to handle. I will not accept it.” He gritted his teeth and walked out of the meeting.

“Wait! Mr Benard!”

“Where are you going?”

“You can not leave like this!”

Voices and shouts follow him. Chris trembled with rage, thoise voices could not be heard anymore. His mind had started to buzz and he could only see red. He craved blood in his hands.

His eyes hardened. He almost pulled the main door apart despite it being automatic.

“Sir!” The guard was stupefied. One look from him and the man gulped the rest of the words. Chris had just started the car when he saw a large crowd on the road. They had his name and pictures on the posters.

They were here to protect against him!? The thought shocked him and he sped the car with full force. His speed took the attention of a few and they noticed him in the car.

“There he is!”

“He is in the car!”

“He is running away!”

Shouts started to fill the road and many paused. Chis cursed. He could not waste his time here. He tried to increase the speed but a fool had decided to block the car.

Chris honked. He honked hard but the man acted deaf. Chris was frustrated, the crowd was so close many had touched his car and a few were trying to climb it.

His heart raced. If they caught him, would he still have a chance to run away? The police might be here anytime. His eyes dilated with fear and anxiety.

This man! It was his mistake that he did not take the chance. He had honked enough times. He cursed and knocked the man when he still did not move. The car sped faste leaving the crowd behind.

The crowd was shocked as they saw the running car. But then they noticed that Chris had knocked someone to save himself. They ran toward the man and picked him up careful.y

A few already called a hospital. They were lucky that an ambulance was nearby. The ambulance took the man with two other people from the crowd for paperwork.

“This man is an animal!”

“Yes, he is a criminal who did not care for human life.”

“He thinks that our life is like cannon fodder since we are poor.” The crowd exploded with hatred.

Though Chris had left, his company was still there.

They ran toward the main door and started shouting.

“Let’s burn these cars.” They did not know who shouted among the crowd. But they all attacked at once.

A few were agitated, a few were there just for fun while a few were sent by Alric to agitate the crowd.

Nora was standing on the other side with Alric behind him. She was holding the binoculars in her hands. Her eyes had a cold and vicious gleam.

“Are you sure the man is not seriously wounded?” she asked, making Alric sigh.

He kissed her shoulders and looked at helplessly, “do you not trust my men at all? I have told you he is a stunted man. He had performed these kinds of stunts his whole life. And the ambulance had experts in it. But you can still go and meet him if you doubt me.” the man bullied but now decided to trust him.

She turned and hugged him.

“I am just afraid. What if others recognize that the dead body did not match him?” she bit her lips but Alric was not worried at all. He hugged her and kissed her nape.

“Do not worry, they have the same height and complexion. In that burning crowd, how many had seriously noticed his face! Chris has a murder on his name now.”
