Return Of The Heiress For Revenge - Chapter 464
Chapter 464: A Warm Home
“Famous tycoon Chris Benard had killed a man in broad daylight.”
“Recently, Chris Benard, the owner of Blue Corn company, had been accused of beating his girlfriend because she was pregnant. When the crowd reached his office. He killed one of them from his rash driving. We have the footage here.”
“The reports are true. The man had died on his way to the hospital. The police had confirmed that the man died due to serious injuries from the road accident. The driver was Chris Benard.”
Nat flipped the channels as she held the remote tightly. Her knuckles had turned white but everytime they showed other news, she would flip the channels until she found a channel where Chris was insulted.
She was sitting on her bed in the hospital room. Yet, her condition was still severe and Max had decided to keep her in the hospital and run a few more tests on her.
He entered the room to check on her when he noticed her empty eyes. He paused and watched her but she did not blink or move. She was sitting there like a statue. The only moment she made was flipping the channels. She was pressing the buttons so hard as if she wanted to kill someone. His eyes dimmed and he slowly closed the door behind him.
He walked but she still did not notice her. She was the same since he had saved her. Barely react, hardly speak and did not move at all. Her only reaction comes from the name, Chris Benard.
“You need to stop that.” he enveloped her hands on the remote. She did not move but only stared at him as he blacked her vision.
“Move aside.” she snarled but Max did not move.
“This could not continue. You will get sick this way.” he explained but she only scowled at him.
“I said, move aside!” she repeated harshly and he sighed.
He snatched the remote from her hands and closed the tv. She was glaring at him but he ignored and sat beside her.
“You need to change the bandage. I have asked for the nurse. I will check you and leave.” he took her hands and checked her pulse.
Finally she looked at him with a twisted expression.
“You are a doctor. Why do you not change my bandages or check my wounds yourself.” Max raised a brow. She seemed too lost yet she had noticed that he did not check her wounds since that day.
“Because I am a woman?” she laughed when he did not reply. “Many men had touched me viciously, you know! After the day I was caught, Chris had called every man he knew to have me. I have been with twenty at once. Or were they thirty? I have been beaten, burnt and…” Nat smirked as he covered her mouth with his hand.
He shifted at his place with an ashen face. He had reacted similarly when he had checked for the first time and though he had accompanied to that house and shot the recording, he did not check her wounds.
He visits her every day but he only checks her mouth and pulse. He did not look at her body at all. He must have found her filthy like every other man and woman out there. She was just a used ragged doll, a broken piece.
He even wants her to abort this child!
“I do not do it because it is against the rules.” Max sighed. His brows furrowed and he looked helpless! Nat had never felt a man could look helpless and innocent too.
They all are just wicked beings.
“If you want, I can check your wounds and bandage you too. I bandaged Nora when she was brought here. But Alric found me lifting her top one day and since then, he made the rule that male doctors could not bandage females. He said it was harassment.” Nat blinked as he sighed looking helpless again.
Her eyes fell on his hands covering hers. Her hands were covered in callous and looked rough. But they were big and warm.
He noticed her gaze and took his hand away looking apologetic.
“I am sorry.” His sincere apology took her by surprise. The touch was nothing. She felt nothing except the warmth.
“The nurse told me that you did not sleep at all. Miss Myers, you have decided to keep this child, yes? Then you must take care of yourself so that your child can be born healthy.” he explained in a professional tone. “If you do not eat, I will not discharge you. You have to suffer in this disinfectant-filled room for six months.” he decided jokingly.
The nurse opened the door. When Max nodded, she came in with bandages and started changing them.
Nat leaned on the bed as the nurse lifted her dress. She stared at the white ceiling.
“I have been locked in a small closet for days without food. How bad it could be to live in this comfortable room and eat warm food.” the nurse paused. Her eyes widened and she looked at the girl and then at Mac with horror in her eyes.

Max shook his head lightly and gestured to her to continue with his hands. The nurse gulped but did as she was told.
“Hmm, but there could be a better place, a warm home waiting for you.” Nat smirked without humor as she counted the times the fan moved. She had done it while waiting for someone to rescue her.
She seemed to be lost in the counting and did not continue the conversation. The nurse finished the change. She looked at Max for further instruction. When he shook his head, she nodded back and left the room with a tray and old bandages.
Max stood there watching her. She had stopped speaking again and she was staring at the fan with an obsessed look.
He sighed and walked closer.
“Perhaps, you need to see it first to decide!”
