Chris walked into the underground area of the club that belonged to him. His dark eyes did not need the lights to know this place, he knew it like the back of his hands. The titled flooring in the corner, the stain on the wall where he was sitting. It was his first project.

This place had earned him the most and never disappointed him. He ignored it to behave more like those rich tycoons but now, he regrets it. Even now, this was the only place offering him support.

He sat on the large leather chair. Leaned on it and folded his legs. He raised a hand and a man offered him a cigarette. He took a whiff of it and exhaled. The smoke made him feel alive after a long time.

“We have found your mother, boss. She was in the church. We have sent a man to bring her. She would be here any moment.” Chris nodded as he exhaled more. His body slowly started to relax.

“Boss..” another man hesitated. “There is a video going viral…” he looked around but everyone stole their gazes away. He cursed his luck and continued, “the man you have knocked off accidentally has died and now the police are searching for you in case of murder and attempt to murder both.” all the men sneered as they heard it.

But their gaze was on Chris. The man smirked, not at all worried about these shallow things now.

“I am here to accept my position anyway. Why does it matter how much blood I have on my hands? ” They all exchanged glances and laughed when Chris chuckled.

Their confidence boosted.

“You do not need to worry about anything, boss. We will take the blame. Not only that we will kill that girl too. The gossip would be forgotten soon and then you can return to that business world.” they encouraged him but Chris smirked.

“No! I do not need that anymore. I thought that by wearing a white, I could be a saint. But I could not get rid of my attraction toward the darkness. This blood suits my hands.” he stared at the back of his hand and palms. They were clean yet he could see the blood dripping from his hands.

He did not regret killing that man or hurting Nat. he did not repent killing his wives. They all deserved it. But more than that, he enjoyed it.

“Boss! What is our plan then?” They looked confused. They thought Chris was here to get help. But he had come here to enjoy the darkness?

“Find that girl and bring her here. I am not done with her yet. And she is good in bed. She screams like a naive girl.” he winked at them, making them laugh again.

“Nat, are you sure about it?” Nora picked up the last dress and packed it in the small bag. She looked at a few dresses and decided to shop more for Nat soon.

Nat was standing near the window looking outside. She could finally stand on her feet again. This simple thing felt like a marvel now.

“It is a job. I need one. And it offers accommodation. What else could I ask for!” Nat shrugged as she spoke. Nora paused and stared at her side profile.

The sun rays were falling on nat’s skin. Though the wounds had healed, Nora could still see all of them for some reason. Nat looked so lonely, full of pain that she felt someone was squeezing her heart and she could not breath.

She wanted to tell nat, that she could offer much more. She would bring anything she wanted. She knew Nat had volunteered for the work and Nora had refused many times in the start until the girl had decided to knock on the bar on her own. Yet she couldn’t help but feel guilty.

She could have forced the girl to return. Warn her more or do something. She was a fool to believe that if men would keep an eye on her, she would be safe. Her nails dug deeper but the pain did not help her feel better.

“And Doc feels like a good boss. He would not harm me.” the small shivering of her hands, did not go unnoticed by Nora. but Nora faked ignorance and sighed.

“Nat, I am always there for you. If you feel like you do not want to do it, you can always return to me. I will protect you this time.” she swore solemnly. Nat turned to look at her with an expression Nora could not bear.

“I know! I am alive because of you.” Nat forced a smile. Nora wanted to add that her condition was because of her too.

The door knocked and Max came in followed by a nurse.

“These are your discharge papers. And your prescription. You need to take these medicines twice a day and this one…” Nat looked at the long list and frowned.

“I thought my wounds were healed. Why do I need so many medicines? I was here for a week!” Max laughed, feeling amused.

“They are for your child, Nat. every pregnant woman takes them.” he assured when she frowned and touched her belly. “It is more like supplements and folic acid.” Nat did not understand much but she still nodded and took one obediently when the nurse gave one.

Max looked at the small luggage and frowned. He decided to bring more clothes and things for her later.

“Did Alric contact you?” Nora whispered softly when Nat was busy. Max frowned and shifted his gaze back to her.

“Yes, Nora and to be honest I am stunned. Do you think I need you to pay me to hire her as my housekeeper?” he shook his head. “I earn enough to pay my employees.” Nora sighed. She did not continue when Nat smiled at them.

“Shall we?” Nat nodded and hugged Nora. “I will call you often to take care.”
