Chapter 479: You Are With Them
“She is flattered already!” Emma chuckled. “She was too conscious around Max and even possessive when I tried to flirt with him. I never knew you were a matchmaker, Nora.” Emma leaned on her seat as she watched them entering the shops.

“Just protect them for now, do not need to press too much or she will realize we are forcing it. Emma, I want them together but at the same time I want them happy.” Emma hummed as she cut the call.

Nora stared at the phone and sighed.

“Madam!” The door of her office opened and the secretary looked at her hesitantly.

“Yes, Melisa, tell me.” The woman took a deep breath and walked inside.

“Madam, after Mr Benard had left. The shares of the company are falling badly. We have organized a press conference for you. But what if they asked about the rest of the shares?” she looked so conflicted but Nora only smiled.

“You do not have to worry about it. Chris’s properties are getting auctioned and I have already bought the rest of the shares. The company belongs to me now. The conference would go smoothly.” The woman looked surprised. But she nodded and left the room hurriedly.

Nora’s eyes narrowed and a cold smirk appeared on her lips. She stood up and messaged something on her phone. His assistant Zach was waiting for her at the door.

“Madam!”

“Is everything ready?” he nodded at once. It had only been a week since he had joined her. But he had handled everything perfectly.

“I have completed the task you gave me. Are you ready madam?” Nora nodded and then went to the conference room where the press was waiting for them.

They started taking pictures, the moment Nora entered the room.

Flashes of lights, several mikes and a group of reporters who looked at her like she was the prey. They all watched her with the eyes of the hawk as she settled on the center chair.

“Thank you for coming everyone in this short notice. I will answer every question so no need to haste.”

“Every question, miss Stone?” a man pressed and Nora smiled. She nodded without hesitation meaning whispers from the reporters.

“So, what do you want to tell us about Mr Chris Benard. He and your uncle had been handling the company. But first your uncle went bankrupt and now he is. Is it not too much of a coincidence?” The man looked at ease but his question earned many looks even from the reporters.

The managers all looked at Nora. Sure that she would be regretting her decision of giving a reply to any question.

“Or it might be the reason they work together so well. We do not even know how many more crimes they have committed and are hiding it. Perhaps, my uncle had killed my father or Mr Bernard had been planning to kill me since he had offered me marriage too.” she shrugged looking horrified thinking about them.

The reporter narrowed his eyes. It was a threat she left for him. But she had already taken the money. He could not fail.

“But Miss Stone. There was never a whisper before you joined the business world. Could it really be their crime?” If anyone had doubts before, they were sure that the reporter was pinning the blame on nora.

Nora laughed instead.

“So you mean I have orchested everything? Are you doubting the police or the court? Or are you doubting your fellow reporters who reported everything first hand?” she smirked looking amused.

The reporter frowned.

“Someone must have spread the news for us to whisper about it. The Spencer family seems to be connected. You are dating their eldest son, right?” The man did not give up. He was surprised that Nora had not lost her composure so far. Under the pressure of so many reporters looking at her and accusing her, she should have panicked.

After all, she was too young. But she was sitting there with ease with a smile that seemed to be mocking them. As if saying! You fool! I have played this game for too long.

“What does Spencer’s family have to do with both cases? My uncle ran away after tax fraud and small thefts and taking so much loan from the companies. While Mr Chris had followed the same path. He had even beaten his fiance. My husband helps and treats thousands of people every day. Half of them could not afford the treatment. Is he responsible for all of their issues? Mr you are speaking as if my fiance is a god.” she laughed softly but what everyone caught attention to.. Fiance! She did not speak boyfriend or refused her relationship but she called Alric his fiance.

“Oh! Miss Stone. Are you planning to marry Mr. Alric Spencer then?” Nora nodded without hesitation.

“Yes, he is only waiting for me to grow up. He still treats me like a child. We will share the good news soon.” her face beamed with a rare flush on her cheeks. She glowed like a woman in love. “But for now, the good news is.. I have bought the rest of the shares from the bank and investors. Now the company belongs to me. I will soon redistribute the shares. But for now, half of them belong to Alric. We are co owners of this company.” they all started to whisper again.

“But miss stone..” the previous reporter started again. But this time instead of waiting for him to finish and keeping silent, the rest of the reporters spoke at once, cutting him off completely.

“Have you thought about the future of the company?

“If Spencer co owns the company, would he attend the future conferences too?

“Miss Stone, you have achieved so much in this young age. Have you thought about your future?

“Miss nora..” the man gritted his teeth knowing well that he had lost this round. It was best to slip away when she was still busy replying to others. He packed his things and walked out grumbling when he was held by two men.
