Chapter 48: Spread Her Wings

When Nora reached the classroom, the teacher had already entered. She frowned looking at Nora. but since she had not started teaching yet, and the watch still showed a margin of five minutes, she let Nora enter.

Nora walked to the last seat like always. It was in parallel with Alex. Alex was sleeping on his desk like always.

When he heard the steps, he opened his eyes, saw Nora and closed them again.

“At the end of this week, our school is organizing a career guidance seminar. Various famous personalities from different kinds of business would come here to inspire all of you. If you have any personality in mind and you have the contacts to invite them, please do inform me. If any one of you have questions related to it, you could come to meet me during lunch time or after school hours. And I will be taking volunteers too for the task.” the teacher announced as she wrote the heading on the whiteboard.

And then she resumed her lecture. Nora opened her notebook and started writing. If one would look at her, they all would think that she is studying diligently. But Nora did not need to write the notes. She had already completed her graduation in the past. She only needs to hear them to revise her studies.

She was writing about the information she would share to gain some money.

“If only I had been interested in the share market!” she could have earned millions from it. But she had only paid attention to her surroundings. Because of that she knew how to be successful in her class and who would fail terribly when it comes to business.

And she remembered a few businesses that had gained a lot of success. One of them was Sky entertainment.

She waited for the lectures to end before standing up and walking to Victor.

“Victor, I have a favor to ask you. Do you have some time to spare?” Before he could reply, she opened the book and showed him a drawing of a character. “I have heard your father is working in the video game field. I have always been so interested in it that I have designed one too. I want your viewpoint on it.” Victor was frowning when Nora approached him.

She was infamous in the class these days after all. But when he noticed the drawing and the neat notes written around it, he forgot about them and snatched the book from her.

His eyes started to glimmer as he read more and more about it. A pang of guilt started to fill her heart.

“This design is awesome.” he stood up with excitement. “Are you planning to sell it? If yes, I will buy it.” That was easier than she had thought.

“I..” she hesitated and looked around. “How about we talk about it after classes in the library?” she offered to make him pause.

“How about we go to the canteen now. I will buy you lunch.” he offered instead while holding the book tightly in his hands. He did not want to part with it. What if she changed her mood in the meantime.

Nora hesitated only for a second before nodding. Victor looked so relieved that she had said yes. Under the scrutinizing gaze of everyone, he took Nora to the canteen.

“It is my first time sitting with someone in the canteen.” Nora sighed. Who would have thought such a thing would make her emotional for a second.

“Ah, yes! Most of the time you sit alone.” Victor brought two sets of meals and passed one to her.

‘That was because I never had friends. There were so many bad rumors about me and I was taken as just an orphan.’ She shook her head and picked up the apple from the tray.

“So you are interested in video games?” Nora smiled. The young man was so amiable and could not hide his views. In the past when he had taken over the company, he was so cold and ruthless. She had never seen him smiling at those parties.

“Not really.” she confessed honestly, “i never got the chance to play one. But I have been fascinated by this cartoon. And always thought about how it would work as a cartoon. So, I have designed a backstory for it and made an adventure challenge. I have changed the name too but it still has too many similarities.” she sighed. Her drawing was not so good and she was not sure if he could recognize the character.

“I know that is powerpuff girls right. You want to make a video game where the young girl could play as one. They are very popular among girls these days.” he laughed. “I have one character in my mind too. But I could not make such a detailed plan as yours. So.. coming back to my first question. Do you want to sell the idea to my father? I am sure he would pay you well.” he repeated in a sincere voice, making her bite her lips.

“Can I offer a partnership instead?” Victor wanted to refuse at once. But when he noticed the desperation in her voice. He went silent at once and stared at her as if he wanted her to continue. Nora released a breath and nodded.

“Your father can make changes in it but I should know about them and give some advice. I am not asking you to follow them blindly but at least give them some consideration and instead of buying it from me. How about I get twenty percent of the royalty from the game?” Twenty percent was too much but at the same time not much if the game achieved good success. They have offered ten to thirty percent royalties but that was for professionals.

Mostly amateurs like Nora sell them at once because of the risk of earning nothing in the future.

“We can livestream it together to make it popular since its main target would be kids.”
