Chapter 481: I Have Cooked For Both Of Us.
The reporter struggled as he was taken in the parking lot.
“Hey! Let me go. This is a crime. I will report it. You do not know who i am!” he warned but the men did not hear him. They kept dragging him and covered his face with a black cloth.
He could hear the engine but it stopped too early. He was dragged out like a dog and then forced on the ground to kneel.
The black cover was finally taken off his face. A man was sitting on a large leather chair in front of him.
“Where is he?” he asked in a lazy but dark voice.
“Who… who are you asking about?” The reporter started to struggle but he could not move. He realized that his body was turning heavier. How? They did not give him anything to swallow or inject anything in her.
“The black mask you wore had multiple uses.” the man replied as if he had heard his unsaid questions. His eyes widened as the reality dawned on him. “The poison is not lethal so you would not die immediately. But you would feel all the pain and suffer.” The man took out a small vial and placed it on the table.
“This is the antidote. If you take it, you can save your life. Now, who sent you?” the man titled his head and the reporter felt fear flow in his nerves more than the blood. His blood had already frozen. Death! Poison!
“I am just a small ant. I do not know much. Someone called me this morning and offered me a million to slander Leonora Stone. They told me I need to prove that she had connections with the ruination of former owners of the company. I was tempted.” he did not know that someone was filming the whole scene in the background.
“Who was that person?”
“I only know of a bank account from where money had been transferred. Since they sent an advance. I did not ask much.” he struggled and the bodyguards let his hand go. He took out his mobile and passed it to Alric.
“This is the number who called and all the details are in the message box. You can keep my phone. You can keep that one million too. Just give the antidote. I do not want to die.” he begged with tears in his eyes. He was so scared that he had peed in his pants at some point.
The men looked at him in disgust. Alric raised his brow, his eyes filling with disgust.
“Antidote? You are not expecting an antidote for itching cream. Do you? Is it there though?” Alric stood up and walked away leaving the stunned man behind.
The one shooting the scene following him and so a the body guards. Only then did the reporter stand up from his place.
“Itching! Itching cream?” then what was the pain in her body and his heart. He.. he was fooled!
Alric sat in the car followed by his men.
“Should we release it?”
“No! Search the number and look for possible clues though it would be hard.” the man nodded. Most of the time a stolen phone is used or the false identification is used to buy such numbers.
And the bank account perhaps belongs to a third person too. Nothing was safe!
“Boss!” They stopped the car. They could see a large crowd gathered in front of Alric’s house protesting.
“After killing your own aunt and ruining your uncle, you have taken over his company. Nora Stone, do you have no shame!?” Alric’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
They all had Nora’s picture crossed with black color or burning posters of her picture and name. They were shouting loudly. And a few reporters were there to cover the scene.
“Handle it!” His voice was so cold that the bodyguards ran for their lives. They went to the reporters first and whispered Alric’s name.
The men gulped and closed their cameras.
“We are not going to report it.” they promised and scurried away.
The men returned to the crowd. They did not waste time on words. One of them took out a gun and shot it in the air.
The noise of gunshots silenced all of them. They looked pale and then they ran away. Screaming loudly and cursing. They threw the posters they were holding. Most of them were college students knowing nothing. They got some good money and protested. Their life was much more than that money.
The place was empty in a few minutes. While the noises filled the streets.
Alric walked out of the car and collected the recordings. The reporters were waiting for him in the corner.

“You will publish this instead.” They nodded, receiving the recording.
“All of you were paid too?” a bodyguard asked and they all gulped but there was no denying it.
“You all knew who was against you yet you took the risk.” The man sounded amused but their eyes were cold and dark as if they were ready to kill in one order.
“We… we were told that you know about it. They told us you do not mind. We will never repeat it.” The man wanted to cry. They were shown a recording where a reporter had challenged Nora again and again but no one interfered.
They thought she was getting punished for using Alric’s name.
“Go!” as if they had received an amnesty from the king, they all ran away.
“Boss!” that was not Alric. He did not know mercy!
“Go and burn the Duvalle club tonight.”
“Boss!” they all revered him as he went inside his house. The moment he was in, his demeanor changed completely and he took out an apron and wore it.
When Nora returned home, she was exhausted to her bones. She had worked so much today. Just as she opened the door and noticed the dim lights, she sighed.
“Perhaps, I should order food for both of us.” she murmured, rubbing her stiff neck.
“There is no need.” a voice came from the dark, “i have cooked for both of us.”
