Return Of The Heiress For Revenge - Chapter 482
Chapter 482: I Need More!
A candle lit… then another… and another.
She watched him in the flickering golden light, her breath catching in her throat.
He looked breathtaking—those dark eyes that seemed to hold secrets, that pale, sculpted face, those thin lips always pressed into an unreadable expression. He could give any woman a run for her heart.
But it wasn’t just his face.
Those broad shoulders, that lean waist, those long, strong legs. He moved with a kind of effortless grace, a mix of charm and elegance that made her stomach flutter. She still couldn’t believe this man—this man—was hers.
Her mouth went dry as wild, reckless thoughts began to stir in her chest.
Slowly, the room filled with candlelight. Dozens of tiny flames danced, their glow casting warmth over the space. In the center of the room sat a feast… and a cake.
Her heartbeat sped up—but for an entirely different reason now.
She gulped, forcing a smile onto her pale lips.
“Did I… forget something important?” she asked suddenly, her voice low.
Then he paused. That look in his eyes made her heart stutter.
Shit. She had forgotten something.
“I… that…” she stammered, her mind racing.
Their anniversary? No.
His birthday? No.
Hers had passed months ago.
What was it?
He stopped lighting the last candle.
“Nora,” he whispered, walking slowly toward her. Her pulse jumped. She looked uneasy.
“I swear that i didn’t mean to forget it. I was just busy.” she wanted to cry suddenly. He did so much for her. Yet, she did not remember if it was their first anniversary or something else. She did not even know much about him except his birthday. Could others be coming too?
Looking at her panicked face, he sighed and held her hands. He pulled her hand to his face and kissed the back of her hand. He rubbed the spot and smiled.
“It’s your celebration.”
His fingers brushed her cheek, tender and sure. She shivered under his touch. Her hands moved from her face to clasp behind her back, trying to ground herself.
“You always wanted this—you fought for it,” he murmured. “To own the company. To reclaim your legacy.”
Her eyes widened. He remembered. Even when she had forgotten.
“Congratulations, Elenora Stone,” he said gently, “for taking over the company your father built. You’re now its rightful heir. You’ve finally taken your revenge.”
Her eyes filled with tears. Nora closed them and leaned into him.
His arms wrapped tightly around her waist, and he pressed a kiss to her hair.
“I’m proud of you,” he whispered.
“I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you…”

He felt the dampness on his shirt, but said nothing.
He only held her closer.
He knew she had suffered. And now that it was all over, the weight must be crashing down on her.
“I’m always here,” he said.
“I know…” And she broke down. Really cried. The kind of cry you hold in for years.
He guided her gently to the sofa, letting her release everything she’d buried inside. The candles slowly melted down, one by one, their glow fading until only darkness remained.
By the time her tears had run dry, the food had grown cold and the room was shadowed once again.
She blinked, looked around, and flushed. “I ruined your celebration…”
He sighed, rubbing slow circles on her arms.
“Ours, Nora. And my celebration? It starts with you and ends with you. You could never ruin it.”
This man.
This man.
How did he always know what to say? How did his words always manage to melt her from the inside out?
“Alric…” she whispered. “I love you.”
He froze.
It was rare for her to say it first.
His eyes widened, then lit up with pure joy.
In one swift motion, he pulled her into his arms again.
“Nora, I love you too,” he murmured, voice husky.
And then—he kissed her.
Not a soft, fleeting kiss. But deep. Fierce. Consuming.
His lips claimed hers, tasting her tears, her relief, her love. His hands gripped her like she was his entire world. And she let herself melt into him, into the heat of it, into the promise that no matter how much darkness surrounded them, they would always find their way back to each other.
The world outside faded. There were only them.
When he finally pulled back, her eyes fluttered open—still dazed, still breathless. She looked up at him, expecting more—needing more.
But he simply smiled, brushed a strand of hair from her face… and stepped away.
“Come on,” he said, casually. “Let’s eat before it gets cold.”
She blinked, confused for a second. “Oh… dinner.”
He gave her a boyish grin. “I spent the whole afternoon preparing it. I wanted tonight to be special for you.”
Something in her sank.
Not because she didn’t appreciate it—she did. But she had hoped… for something more. Something that matched the fire of that kiss.
Still, she caught herself. She couldn’t ruin the thought he had put into this.
So she smiled. “It smells wonderful.”
He pulled out a chair for her like a gentleman and sat across from her, still glowing from the kiss, completely unaware of the storm he had stirred inside her.
“Now that you have more companies under your name, you need more staff. I will hire another assistant for you to handle other companies. I have trained them personally so you do not need to worry about their loyalty. Emma had gone too. Should I call her back or else it would be fine?” He poured wine and offered her the first slice of cake.
She needed release, not cake or another guard. But she smiled and nodded, folding her legs tightly as if she was stopping the warmth from spreading.
“That is a wonderful idea. I will depend on you then.”
Because she loved him.
And tonight was meant to be a celebration.
Even if her body still tingled with unfinished longing and her heart whispered, later, maybe… later.
