Return Of The Heiress For Revenge - Chapter 487
Chapter 487: Chased Away!
The morning light spilled softly through the curtains, pale gold kissing the edges of the wooden floor. Alric stirred first, his hand instinctively seeking Nora’s warm, bare form. But she was already gone, the space beside him cool. For a heartbeat, panic flickered in his chest—but then, the faintest sound of movement, soft humming, and the scent of something being chopped drifted in from the kitchen.
He smiled to himself.
Alric pulled on a pair of loose pants and padded barefoot across the stone floor, following the trail of warmth and something that smelled faintly of garlic and spice. He stopped at the doorway, resting a shoulder against the frame. There she was—his Nora—standing at the counter with her hair loosely tied, wearing one of his shirts that fell nearly to her knees. The sleeves swallowed her hands as she awkwardly tried to chop red peppers.
He chuckled quietly.
“You’re going to slice your finger if you keep holding the knife like that.”
Nora turned, caught mid-motion. “And you’re going to scare me to death if you keep sneaking up like that,” she said, but her voice was light, a smile tugging at her lips.
Alric walked up behind her, gently taking her hand to adjust her grip on the blade. “Like this,” he murmured, his fingers lingering just a moment longer than necessary. “You need to control it. Like you do with everything else.”
She raised an eyebrow at him. “Except you.”
He smirked, brushing his lips over her temple before he turned toward the pan already heating on the stove. “I don’t mind being your exception.”
Together, they worked in quiet harmony. She chopped vegetables while he stirred them into a sizzling medley of onions, peppers, and thinly sliced meat. The kitchen filled with the comforting sounds of breakfast being made—pans clinking, the soft scrape of the knife on wood, her laughter when he teased her about her uneven slices.
There was something rare in it—something sacred. A peaceful silence that didn’t demand to be filled. As if the house itself had settled into the rhythm of their new morning.
But miles away, the darkness was stirring.
In the shadows of a quiet club, Chris stood with his jaw tight, phone pressed to his ear. “You’re sure this is her place?”
“Yes,” the voice crackled back. “Natalie Xavier! She is hiding in a small house on Ellen street. She had been living with a man and woman there. there. A delivery boy had confirmed it but she had never set her food out so we are not certain.”
Chris’s eyes glinted with something cold and calculating. “Send the men and confirm first. I want her out. And if she runs to Nora, we follow.”
They came in the dead of night, cloaked in silence and violence. Four of them, slipping into the narrow hallway of Natalie’s building with knives tucked into sleeves and cruel intentions laced into their steps.
They never made it past the second floor.
Emma’s voice rang out in the dark—sharp, commanding. “You picked the wrong building.”
From the shadows, Alric’s men emerged—six of them, fast and silent as ghosts. The fight was brief and brutal. The intruders had expected a frightened woman, not trained guards lying in wait.
The last of them limped away, bloody and broken, chased into the alley by Emma herself, who leaned against the doorway once they were gone, a satisfied smirk on her face.
She called Alric moments later, her voice low.
“They found Natalie’s address. But we handled it.”
Alric’s jaw tensed as he stirred the eggs in the pan, one hand still brushing against Nora’s waist like he needed her touch to keep calm.
“Was she hurt?” he asked, voice flat and dangerous.
“No. She didn’t even know they came. She’s safe.”
He closed his eyes, breathing once before looking over at Nora, who was now plating the toast with a dreamy, unbothered look in her eyes. She didn’t know yet. And maybe, just for a moment longer, he wanted to keep it that way.
“Thank you, Emma,” he said quietly.
Then he hung up, pushed the phone aside, and leaned down to kiss Nora’s shoulder.
She looked back at him with that sleepy, glowing smile.
“Everything okay?” she asked.

Alric forced a small smile and nodded. “Yeah. Just business.”
He served her breakfast, his hands brushing hers as they sat down together.
But even as they ate in peace, a storm was waiting just beyond the door. And Alric knew—it was only a matter of time before Chris made his next move and if he did not tell Nora, hell would break loose.
“Nora, have you ever thought about sending Natalie to europe. I have a few connections there. She could return with a child when Chris would be behind the bars.” Nora paused, she looked at his phone and then at him.
“He found her!” he neither accepted it nor refused but kept looking into her eyes as she sighed.
“We will protect her, not chase her away, Alric. She must live her life normally. And..”
“And..” he pressed, making him smile.
“I am sure that Max is into her. Who knew we might get good news soon.” then she looked at him with eyes narrowed, “you have trailed him. Right?
“Always have two men infiltrate him. I want him to feel like he holds the power. What do you want next?” she leaned and smirked.
“I want to teach his mother a lesson first.” he paused and then laughed.
“Consider it done.”

In the club,
A few men tried to enter the building and when stopped by the staff, they started a fight.
Chris, who was still hiding on the third floor, frowned and asked Aiden to go and check.
Aiden left with gritting teeth only to find many men breaking the ground floor. His eyes widening as he knew it was not a normal bar fight.
A man was already looking at him with a smirk.
“Boss had asked you to stay hidden, Rat. or else you would be chased away.”
