Chapter 496: Let You Go!
“What if they fight?” Alric asked as Nora stared out of the window with a glass of wine in her hands, she looked lost in her thoughts. “Why did you not tell Max about Lisa?” He walked closer and she leaned into his chest as if his hold was like an anchor holding her.

“I do not want nat to feel that she was his second choice. Let him confess, if Nat takes a step back for Lisa, I will tell her the truth.” her voice had a bitter taste as she finally turned to look at him.

“We both know that Lisa is not the only wall between them. Nat would not let her past go this easily.” Nora smirked, her eyes deeper with whirlpools in them.

“You underestimate her, Alric. A woman could do anything if she fell in love. And fighting her demons was a task she had always done. Where is Chris?”

“We are with him. We will take actions whenever you desire.” he leaned and pecked her lips. “Everyone is waiting for your command.” the way he gave her power to wield, Nora could never have enough of it, enough of this man. Wine was nothing, she was intoxicated for him.

The air inside the club was thick with smoke, perfume, and the electric pulse of music. Neon lights bathed everything in red and violet as girls danced on the stage, glitter catching the glow with every turn of their hips. Men crowded the tables below, drunk and careless, throwing bills like confetti while laughter and shouts mixed with the beat.

But the vibe shifted—subtly at first.

Two men at the far end of the bar began arguing, shoving over a spilled drink. One threw a punch. The other answered with a broken bottle. A chair crashed, then a glass. The scuffle exploded into chaos, dragging in others too drunk to walk away.

A crowd formed instantly, half of them cheering, the other half just trying to get a better view.

In the VIP section upstairs, Chris watched the madness unfold with a frown. A shadow leaned into his ear.

“Boss, we’ve got a fight near the back tables. Might get ugly.”

Chris exhaled through his nose, annoyed more than alarmed. He gave a nod. “Send Ramon and Vince. Tell them no blood. Just quiet it down.”

The men disappeared into the crowd. Downstairs, they pushed through bodies and started separating the brawlers with practiced ease, fists clenching but not yet swinging.

A shrill wail cut through the music. Red and blue lights flickered outside the front entrance. The DJ tried to keep the beat going, but the crowd knew. They felt it.

Police.

Panic spread like gasoline on fire.

“We’ve got company!” another man hissed, rushing back to Chris.

Chris didn’t waste time. He knew they weren’t here for the club—not directly—but if they saw him, recognized him, everything would spiral. Fast.

He ducked into a hallway behind the VIP lounge, where a steel door led to the staff-only zone. Shouting echoed behind him, but he stayed calm, his mind already calculating the exits.

He reached a wall panel, pressed a hidden button, and slipped through the false wall into a narrow passage. It stank of mold and old cigarettes, but it was safe.

He moved quickly, each step echoing down the narrow corridor. Behind him, the sound of heavy boots and shouted commands filled the club.

Chris emerged into the back alley just as the first officers flooded the floor inside.

He pulled his hood up, melted into the shadows, and vanished. From a distance, he joined the crowd and watched as the police brought the brawlers out of the club. How they checked the whole club then.

He could hear complaints and shrieks with no expression on his face as if he was nothing but a spectator. And then he walked away.

It was only morning when everything calmed down. He returned silently to the club and leaned on the seat of his office.

“It was strange. I do not understand who had called the police. And since then they were too fast. There is something off about the whole scene.” his manager ran a hand in his hair when Chris stared at the ceiling, lost in his thoughts.

“Boss, there is something in your pockets.” Chris frowned. The moment his manager picked up his coat, a letter fell.

“Read it.” his eyes darkened. The manager gulped, knowing well that they were playing and the other party was not even trying to hide it.

“You are nothing but a mouse trapped in the cage, Chris. Fighting is meaningless.” The man spoke the words with a trembling voice. He knew the temper of his boss. He would kill all of them.

Chris kicked the stool beside him and stood up with force.

“Is the girl ready?” the manager wanted to refuse. It was such a dangerous plan. They would all die if it went wrong. He wanted to refuse instinctively but when his eyes met his dark one, the storm was built.

“Yes, sir.”

“Send her then. I am not going to take it lightly.” the man gulped, ready to plead to think again but then too afraid to really ask for it. He nodded and left the room.

On the first floor, furniture was broken. Half of their dancers were missing, the staff was taken for interrogation and the bouncers were beaten without a cause.

The manager sighed as he looked at the damage and took the back rooms where the left girls were resting. Still terrified with what has happened.

They all stood up at once when they noticed him.

“Where is Evelyn?” he asked. The girl pointed at a door with their eyes. He knocked and went in.

A young girl barely twenty was curled in the corner. She shrunk further when she heard footsteps.

“We have found your brother. He is a rich businessman. If he purchases you, we will let you go. Do you want to contact him?”
