Chapter 497: Help Her
Evelyn opened her eyes with fear and doubt dancing in her eyes.

“You.. I did not have a brother.” she confessed. So long she had lived alone with her mother. But now her mother was gone and she did not know any living relatives out there.

They have brought her here with force the moment her mother died. Telling her that her mother had taken a loan from them and not paid. Now she was interested. They will use her until she pays back.

She need not be told how they were going to use her. She had seen girls barely clothed dancing on the stage of being taken away by men.

Her heart had jumped to her throat and since then she was hiding in the room with no intention of leaving. If they force her, she would kill herself. But she would not give up on her respect.

The man titled his head as if he could read her desire to die. If only, it had been so simple.

“You are naive.” he laughed and the girl curled her hands into a fist. Ready to fight or fight whatever is required of her. “If anyone had been at your place, they would have jumped on the opportunity instead of refusing it.” the girl paled. She did not want to be plated in their hands. She knew, if she accepted that she had a brother, they would tie her to a man she could not get rid of.

“Do we really need to play such tricks when you are here?” the man snickered with disdain, “it is not your mother’s son. But your father had given birth to many men. You have three brothers. And one of them can listen to you. Go on and call him, this is your last chance to save yourself. As long as he pays us, we will let you go.”

When he repeated the same words, Evelyn looked at him confused. They were right, she was already here so they did not need to play tricks. But did she really have a brother? Why did her mother never tell him? More than that, did she even have a father?

The man frowned when she still did not move and kept staring at him like an imbecile.

“Forget it! If you do not want to take the chance. We will earn more by selling you everyday anyways.” the man spat at her with disgust and turned to leave.

Only then did Evelyn come out of her initial shock and stand up.

“My brother.. Who is he?” The man stopped near the door with a smirk on his face.

“I will take you to him. Come.” Evelyn hestaired as he waited for her at the door. She stared at the simple ring she was wearing before nodding and then following them.

She watched as the girls huddled in the corner and whispered about the fight earlier. The police had come and took a few of them. They were worried about what would happen to them. Evelyn lowered her head. Not living in prison would be better than this place.

She didn’t know anymore. The man sneers impatiently whenever she stops or takes her sweet time walking. He pushed her inside an old car and her breath quickened. But he snickered.

“You think too much. I do not need a car to rape you.” she gulped her fear down and shrunk in a corner. But no one entered the car after her. She sat alone in the backside while the man drove the car himself.

Evelyn stared at the door. If she opens one of them, she might get a few scratches but she could run before he stops the car and follows her. If she chose a busy road, perhaps she could get a taxi easily. She would use this ring to pay.

“The doors are locked, Evelyn.” he sighed. “You are testing my patience again and again. I have never helped a girl before and you are not making it easy.” The girl finally looked at the man.

Despite his fears, she wanted answers.

“Why are you helping me then?” the man shrugged.

“Your brother had something I wanted. And you are something he wants. I can earn from any girl. But you can bring me more profit.” she frowned. She did not want to be a burden on the brother she had never met. More than that…

“Why would my brother help me? He did not even know me.” That was the point the manager was worried about too.

He had told Chris that Alric could even refuse to meet them. He never paid interest to Alric or that newly found brother of his. Why would he care about a sold woman?

“Pray that he does, Evelyn. Or you would be of no use to me. So beg him or kneel. Your life depends on it. Otherwise I will force you to serve multiple men at once and make you the biggest whore we ever had.” Evelyn gulped, visibly shaken by his words.

She watched as they crossed the busiest road of the city and stopped in front of an elegant building. It was not large as others but refined and had a lot of security.

“Your sister in law owns this company.” Evelyn’s eyes widened as she looked at the building again. They were living such a better life yet she was sold like a commodity.

“I thought we were going to meet my brother.” she whispered more to herself. This woman didn’t even share blood ties with her, why would she want me?

“She would call him, meeting him directly is impossible. And she might help you in convincing your brother. She had a soft spot for weak women. It did not matter that she had killed her own mother and sent her sister to prison instead of her.” Evelyn’s eyes widened. Her hand on the door froze. How could she convince such a woman to help her?
