The girls blushed, getting the attention of the chocolate boy of the class. He was kind, sweet and easy to approach with those handsome features.

They screamed inside as they nodded and passed all their notes to him.

“Since we are in the last year of school. We have the chance to participate in an international knowledge competition. It will be in many phases. But the end prize is a seat reserved in twenty best universities all over the world on full scholarship. Though our parents easily afford the fees, it’s still a matter of nation’s pride. I am sure the semi finals and finals were covered on many channels too.” the girl explained with excitement but her friend shook her head.

“But no one had won it for six long years. The Fanacia country always wins the finals. I am happy as long as I clear the pretest. Those who would clear it would get twenty bonus marks in the finals in any subject of their choice. It will save me from chemistry.” the girl sighed and looked at her book again as if she could not waste any second to study.

The other girl nodded with dimmed eyes too.

“Yes, as long as we can earn some credit points. But you do not need it, Victor. Is that why you do not know about it?” the girl asked back, grabbing the chance to hold his hands with the pretense of giving him a book.

“Victor must be doing important stuff when the teacher announced it in the class. She had already announced more than twenty times in the last month. You must be very busy with your studies and all.” the other girl nodded too, encouraging her friend to take the next step.

Victor smiled wryly. What is busy with studies or more important stuff?! He must day dream about video games or sleep in class.

“Haha! I am just being forgetful these days. Thank you for your help though.” he stood up holding the notes of the girl, “you would not mind if i took them for study right?” the girl blinked and looked at her notes in shock.

She had offered them to him hoping they would study together. But he wanted to take them away.

“That..”

“I am sure your friend would share hers with you.” he added when the girl hesitated. In the end, the girl could only nod when he kept staring at her with that smiling face of his. “Thank you. You are too kind. I Will surely return the favor later.” he winked at her before leaving with her notes.

The girl boinked and then squealed while holding the hand of her friend.

“Did you hear that? Maybe he will take me on a date to return the favor.” she blushed and whispered with joy making her friend cringe but nod and encourage her friend further.

When Victor entered the class room, everyone was studying diligently. He found Nora sitting alone on the large seat. Alex was not in the class.

“Why do you sit in the last seat? With your marks you can claim first or second seat easily.” he shook his head and passed the notes to her. “There, since you are planning to take the test seriously, these notes will help.” Nora blinked.

She was not expecting Victor to talk to her in front of the whole class. She noticed every person was looking at them now. It was more penetrating than the time she had entered the class and everyone stared at her bandages and plaster with gasps and whispered under their breaths.

Ignoring them, she swept a glance at the notes only to find them mediocre.

“I have my own notes, thank you.” She refused politely. Victor noticed a perfect neat and clean hand writing on the notebook she was holding and then looked at one he was holding and laughed.

“Ah, so you do not need any help. Silly me.” he returned to his seat and started reading the notes. Since he had already taken them it would be a waste if no one would read them.

The room slowly returned to studying. Though the school was full of the rich and nobles of the city. But they all were competitive and hard working so that they could take their family to new heights. There were a few who did not want to work that hard. But even they can not act freely and act like they are working for the test too.

Soon, their home teacher entered the class with a lot of papers in her hands. She smiled when she noticed everyone was studying hard for the pretest.

“Since the test is optional I was only expecting a few to study hard. But I am so proud that most of you are planning to give it. Even if many of you will not qualify it, do not feel bad. The test is too hard to begin with. Good luck.” she smiled at all of them as she asked them to close their notes and keep their bags aside.

Everyone returned to their seats preparing himself. Only a few seats were empty now. Penny and Alex were not in the class.

Nora looked at Alex’s empty seat and sighed. If only she could open his brain and peek inside to know how it worked.

Even his followers were in the class. But just as she had started the test and reading all the questions, she heard someone running in the class.

“I overslept. Can I still attend the class?” she raised her head to see disheveled Alex standing in his shorts and tshirt.

The teacher frowned at once.

“I would have refused Alex if not for the test. Since the test is very important, we will talk about your appearance and clothes later. Go and start it already.” she handed him the pacers with a deep frown but Alex didn’t care about her expression. He turned and his eyes scanned Nora.

A look of guilt and anger crossed his face as he held the papers tightly and walked to sit beside her.

“You have outdone yourself again Nora.”
