Chapter 68: Stronger!

“I do not think Nora would like it.” many exchanged glances hearing Alex’s command. They all knew that he was unruly. But he had never planned to harm anyone before. “Penny had a good image among the staff and her family had a strong position in the school. They held a good amount of funding for school. I do not think it is a good idea.” many nodded their heads.

“Alex, making fun and hurting someone is different. Are you sure Nora would appreciate it?” There was no one who believed Alex had a personal grudge against Penny.

“But I do not understand why Alex cared about Nora so much that he wanted to take her revenge?”

“……” silence fell. Everyone had the same question in their mind when Alex stared at them with a strange face!

“Ha! It is not about that frail girl. How did that foolish girl commit a crime then try to accuse me for it!” Now that he pointed it out, many remembered that Penny had shouted his name and told everyone that Nora had left with Alex.

Their faces changed finally and they all nodded.

“Your respect is our respect, we will teach her a lesson for sure.”

Whole school was in chaos. Someone had posted the incident in the school forum with the headline, “beaten by own family. Could the previous posts be trusted anymore?” beneath it were Nora’s picture where she had taken off her gauze to show her wounds and Penny. Though Penny had her back toward the picture. Everyone knew about the sisters.

Penny was popular among the students of other classes too since she was smart and beautiful. She was announced as school belle.

When Nora left the dorm to attend the school. Many paused on their ways to look at her. Everyone was pointing at her or staring at her and whispering something. It was not the first time that she was the center of rumors since she had birthed again, but this was the first time when their eyes were not full of malice.

Though a few still gave her a condescending gaze, many were feeling pity on her. But not even once did she raise her head or said a word.

When she entered the class, everyone stared at her as if they were seeing a ghost. Nora noticed how a young girl moved to empty her left side and looked at her. Those who used to look at her as if she was a plague were now offering her seats.

She feigned ignorance and walked to the last seat where she often sat alone. The seat was parallel to Alex. he sat alone too.

He gave her a lazy look and she smiled at him when the bell rang and class started. The teacher gave one meaningful look to Nora too. The rumors had reached the staff room and other parts of the school building too.

When the attendance was taken, Penny was found absent. Her friend told their home teacher that Penny is sick and taken leave. Many chuckled when she announced it. With a red face, she sat down hurriedly afraid that she would be dragged into the matter too.

But when everyone waited for Nora to speak about it, there was no reaction on her face as if she had nothing to do with the news.

“Since you all know that the entrance of an international knowledge competition could leave a good image on your career. You should have taken it more seriously. I heard that the class was busy making rumors rather than studying. I am warning you, if none of you get selected I will punish everyone harshly. So far, I have been ignoring every foolish story and rumor. But I will not accept that you forget humanity and be so vicious.” she looked at Nora meaningfully as if warning her especially. Many felt that it was odd since the teacher should accuse Penny for what happened.

But the teachers hurriedly looked away and glared at a few other backbenchers too. Slowly the long period passed where she continued her lessons.

The classes were slowly dragging. While everyone was busy talking about Nora, she looked at the lecture with bored eyes. The best thing about returning to the past was… she had studied these lectures once with her whole heart. A look at them and she remembered everything correctly.

So she busied herself in making a list of the contacts she was making and the money she could earn through it.

She had already sold Victor, the gaming idea. As long as he agreed to pay royalty, she would have a source of steady income for her expenses.

She would have shares of Mojo Ltd soon through Alric. But that was not enough. She closed her eyes and remembered. There was a young designer her aunt had found in her past life and supported because her designs were unique. Unfortunately the girl had signed a one year contract with her aunt and could not make a career for herself. Later when she was freed, she had risen into a great designer.

Her aunt had always accused her of being ungrateful, she had only gained fame because of her aunt, yet she never credited her or thanked her.

Nora remembered the girl had earned foreign deals too. As long as she could rope that girl and do business with her in partnership and provide funds to her, she could have more wealth accumulated. Only money and power could help her in standing against her uncle in the long run, she had to be stronger! Or she would suffer like her past. The images of her beating flashed past her eyes.

“Nora!” The nib of her pen broke as she put a lot of pressure startling herself. She blinked and found the period had already ended and victor was standing in front of her. He was looking at her with concerned eyes.

“I know that you are injured and need rest. But if you have time, my father wants to meet you.”
