Return Of The Heiress For Revenge - Chapter 71
Chapter 71: Confrontation
“She is not as simple as she looks.” Evan stood behind Alex as he whispered that. They had seen how Nora forced the girl to fall and then walked away.
“Even a deer backed in a corner started fighting. She had been treated worse for years.” Alex cut him. He would not believe that it was Nora’s mistake. Not because he had a blind trust on her but he had seen how the girl had played tricks on her first and she had only retaliated to protect herself.
But Evan looked at Alex as if the man had gone senile.
“Forget about her, we are going for another race. Are you coming or are you going to stalk her all day.” there was censure in his voice making Alex frown.
“I will come of course. The girl is not damsel in distress who needed my help.” Evan rolled her eyes but pleased that Alex did not follow her like a fool. He did not understand what magic this girl was casting on Alex.
When Nora returned to her seat, all her notes were torn. Her books were on the ground, completely dirty and spoiled. The pen had been broken and its ink had stained her left over notes. Everything was ruined. When she looked around she heard giggles coming but when she looked at them, they all were chatting with each other or doing their work. No one was even looking in her direction.
“Ha!” She picked up everything and placed it on her bag only to see that it was cut from a blade and had many holes.
Lisa and Linda, who had just returned, gasped when they looked at her things. But they did not dare to intervene.
“The next period is of management. The teacher did not like Nora at all. She is going to throw a tantrum that Nora did it intentionally to get rid of the test.” whispered someone but there was no pity in their voice.
Linda bit her lips and stared at the things. With a sigh, she walked to Nora even when Lisa tried to stop her.
“I have a spare notebook. How about you sit with me and complete the test first before taking care of your things?” Nora scanned the class before shaking her head and politely refusing. Linda frowned but she did not force Nora and went to her seat.
Three more girls and boys came forward and offered help but Nora refused to all of them. The class had already been divided into two factions, one who supported Nora and others who believed that she was a vicious girl and were against her.
“There must be a camera recording, you should ask for that.” a young boy pointed only for Nora to chuckle. She was sure whoever had done it was cautious enough to not get caught easily.
“Thank you, I will handle it.” she noticed a smirk on many faces as she walked out of the class with her things. But she had only taken a step forward when her management teacher frowned at her.
“The bell had already been rung. What are you doing here? Go back to your class.” he warned her in a closed voice even when he noticed the sorry state of her bag in her hands.
“I have been called in the principal’s office, sir. I need to report there.” the word startled him. He nodded instinctively and frowned when Nora walked away.
Returning to the class, he asked a few students but none had seen any staff calling for Nora. But they were still not sure.
“Ha!” The teacher wrote a few questions on the board. “All of you complete the test, i will be retiring in five minutes.” he adjusted his glasses and left the class. “Nora! You are going to regret your life if you have lied to me.” he cursed before reaching the principal’s office.
A young woman dressed in a professional suit smiled at the teacher. “Is there anything I can help you with Mr Summer?”
“Did a girl come to meet the principal, Miss Jane?” His voice was too respectful toward the girl. The girl nodded at once.
“Yes, Nora Stone from senior class had come. Is there a problem with it?” The man shook his head. The students must have not seen the staff. There was no way a girl would lie about it. He wanted to ask the reason for calling her but thought against it and left the office with a nod.
Inside, Nora sat on the seat and looked at the principal with teary eyes.
“I know that my uncle had only called and informed me that he was not going to pay for my fees anymore. And I know that my aunt had already urged you many times to rusticate me. They had invested a good amount for the welfare of this school. I am sure it is hard on you to refuse them.” the man frowned. He had never been confronted by a young girl.
He did not understand why she was bringing that up when he had not taken actions against her so far.
“I am here to solve this issue, sir. I know that you are a righteous man and do not want to help them. But in the next meeting, the board may ask you to do so. That is the only reason you have not confronted my sister Penny even when I have been found injured.” The man’s eyes narrowed as he looked at Nora.
“Miss Stone, do you believe that i can rusticate you for coming to my office without an appointment and confronting me like that. Half of the words you said are..”
“,…… truth!” she whispered with a smile that could win hearts but the principal only felt anger looking at it. “And the part where I told you that I have a solution for it can help you in your promotion or at least a better career too.”
