Chapter 78: Spouting Nonsense

“What nonsense are you spouting? Do you even know any treatment? You all are just unqualified doctors who did not get a job anywhere and here you are putting airs.” The woman’s shrill voice filled the room as she ran toward the doctors and picked her child away from the bed and the grasp of the doctor.

She glared at the doctor with a quivering red face.

“Ha! Let go of my son. I would rather sell my house and let him get a perfect treatment than take your treatment.” she spat with hatred in her voice.

The doctor did not know what was happening. He looked at the woman dumbfounded and then at the people following her.

“I..”

“It is alright!” Nora smiled sweetly toward the woman as if she was already expecting it. “You do not trust a doctor that easily. I understand the heart of the woman.” the woman glared at Nora. she could not trust Nora but since she was taking her side, she could not go against her too.

She nodded reluctantly when Nora patted the back of her hands.

“But..” the doctor wanted to protest. But Nora and the woman glared at him, making him silent.

“Go and ask for doctor Adam Sulliavan.” Nora turned and blinked at Alric who had followed them silently so far as if he was not even there.

It felt like he had read her mind. She lowered her head hurriedly but the woman beside her kept frowning.

“Who is he now? I have already told you that I will not let my son be treated by any quack doctor. If I could not get a good doctor. I would rather leave. My son is sick and with every passing minute, his conditioning is worsening. I can not take risks anymore.” she sobbed as she looked at her child with worry.

The act was perfect. It would have worked well with the reporters and they would have thrashed the reputation of the hospital again with more vigor if not for the name Sullivan.

Adam Sulliavan! This name was so popular in their world that they could not turn a blind eye to it. So they stood there awkwardly not knowing how to reply. The woman frowned when no one responded to her cries. She silently looked at the reporters, urging them with her eyes to support her but they kept looking at her.

“What is happening here?” she thought but she did not dare to ask them directly as the whole hospital staff was looking at her. The woman bit her lips and then pulled the sleeves of her husband. The man finally came from his stupor.

“Come darling, we are leaving.” he announced glaring at all of them as he held the woman’s hands. She nodded ready to leave this place. There was something wrong here. But before she could leave, Alric blocked her way, making them frown.

“The next hospital is far. If your statement that your son’s condition is worsening every second is true. Then you should not leave.” His words were so calm that it worried them.

“I do not want treatment here anymore.” she glared back ready to fight to leave if needed.

But they heard steps behind them and she noticed every reporter looked excited with burning eyes.

She misunderstood that they wanted to continue it further. Perhaps that was the reason they were carrying a while ago. She took it as a hint and lowered her head.

“Fine! For my child, I will forget the humiliation. Doctor, please look at my child and tell me what was wrong with him.” she was sure he would say the same. That the child was not sick but it had taken sleeping medicines. And then she would create a scene. That way, they all would lose their reputation. Her eyes twinkled with that thought.

“Ha! Now I will see all of them.” a man too young to be a doctor and handsome enough to be a model stood up in front of her. The woman blinked and stared at him with a lost look when he smiled at her.

“Shall i?” she nodded once when he took the child from her. The slight brush of their fingers made her blush and smile.

Adam placed the child back on the bed. He frowned as he checked the nerves of the child.

“The child needs immediate treatment. We need to take him to the ICU.” he announced with a grim voice. His face looked so serious that the woman blinked. Others did not know but she did. She had only fed one sleeping pill to the child and then acted as if he was too sick. There was no way that he was serious.

“Why ICU?” she asked, confused , when the doctor looked pale.

“Yes, you are right. ICU would be too late. We should opt for operation instead.” he announced and before the woman could say anything, Adam took the child to ICU confusing everyone. Even Alric frowned as he looked at his hasty steps.

The woman finally came back to her senses. Though she was doing this for money. She loved her child a lot. She did not want her body to open. Her heart came to her throat when she realized they were going to operate on her son.

“Wait! I said wait.” She ran behind Adam not caring how handsome he was. The man stopped and turned toward her when she hurriedly pulled the child from his embrace.

“What nonsense are you spouting? What will my son need for an operation?” her shrill voice was full of hostility but Adam only smiled with worry.

“I understand the heart of mother. But madam, your son is in a serious condition. If we do not operate on him, his tumor would grow and then he would be in for years.” he explained softly with a tensed voice but the woman only glared at him.

“Ha! Who even made you a doctor. You are only spouting nonsense.”
