Chapter 230: Saracstic but Important Thoughts
Third Person’s POV
The dark elf observed the scene in silence, but internally, her thoughts were in turmoil as the earlier fight replayed in her mind on an endless loop.
Meanwhile, Virelle and Velcy approached Ethan and stood at his sides as they cast calm yet measured looks toward the warden.
The warden’s smile faltered slightly as though a long-forgotten memory had surfaced.
“Enough,” the warden said with authority.
“End this farce at once. You can settle your scores outside but inside this establishment, take to your own affairs.”
His words worked like an invisible restraint, and Ethan scoffed as he pulled his saber back though he deliberately ran his fingers along its cold, beautiful blade with a taunting smirk.
Though he avoided direct eye contact with the red-haired demon, his message was loud and clear.
In the end, neither had the snake been slain, nor had the stick remained unbroken.
It was a total loss for Declan who gritted his teeth in humiliation.
He had lost that previous saber and his most powerful and obedient underling was incapacitated and it was unknown if he could even heal again from those injuries.
While gritting his teeth he turned and stormed out of the pub while his underlings followed and one of them turned back to carry the unconscious figure of Tyler.
Turning back to the girls, the warden’s features softened and he addressed them with a gentle smile.
“Alright, young ladies. It is your turn now. Enough time has been squandered already.”
The warden’s voice pulled him back.
“Okay, first up, the veiled girl. You are up against Jorath, our peak Elemental Stage examiner.”
A hulking demon with scarred knuckles lumbered into the ring. He had a stony and indifferent expression as he waited silently.
Virelle’s only movement was the faintest ripple of her silken veil as she exhaled.
Taking her cue with poise, Virelle gracefully walked forward to begin her test.
Suddenly, the dark elf’s voice entered Ethan’s ears once more through a sound transmission.
‘Those demons are standard solo adventurers who couldn’t join an official adventurer team.
With limited talent and no strong backing, they typically take on such tasks like officiating new adventurers by acting as their opponents.’
On stage, curved wind blades slashed through Virelle’s threads but the girl seemed to dissolve within them like mist.
The demon’s efforts were futile, as the remaining threads restricted his movement and gradually locked him into a confined space.
This should be easy, Ethan thought as he shifted his gaze from the fight to the dark elf, who was surprisingly helpful.
He idly held Velcy’s hand while listening to the receptionist’s unexpected guidance.
‘You were meant to face one of these standard opponents too. Normally, it would’ve been a quick and simple match.
These initiation duels happen daily.
But Declan… that brute ruined everything.
Still, thanks to that, I got to witness one of the most thrilling battles I have ever seen.

You were simply amazing, Young Master Eryndor.’
Ethan could hear her subtle disdain for Declan, but he also caught the excitement lacing her words when she complimented him.
Why is she being so helpful? Does she actually like me?
He furrowed his brow in thought.
Even if I consider my so-called fate-blessed looks, she doesn’t seem like the type to swoon over appearances alone.
Or maybe I am reading too much into this. Yeah, I probably mistook her good impression for something deeper.
Ugh, since when did I get so narcissistic?
He exhaled through his nose quietly.
This trait isn’t good. Nobody likes someone too full of themselves. But what can I do?
This is the first time in my both lives that I have received this kind of affection and goodwill from women purely because of how I look.
His gaze drifted back to the fight, though his mind continued to wander.
Hmm… maybe I could use this charm to get close to those elusive noble ladies, especially the lonely ones who are isolated behind their wealth.
They might surely appreciate a younger, caring, and handsome companion.
He smirked inwardly.
It would be mutually beneficial. They would find companionship and warmth, and I could… enjoy their company. It is a win-win situation for me.
But then I can’t let them go back to their husbands as they will be mine from then on.
Hmm… it is not so easy, I have to think deeply about this.
While Virelle’s opponent was clearly losing, Ethan remained lost in his musings.
Virelle remained unaware of his musings as she fought with graceful precision.
She had expected her Brother Ethan to watch her display of skill and hoped for a proud smile or a nod from him but he was lost in his own world.
Just as she landed her final strike and emerged victorious, Ethan was still lost in his fantasy.
Suddenly, the crowd’s cheers snapped him out of his thoughts.
He blinked and looked down to see Virelle sprinting toward him with her face lit up with excitement.
Before he could even react, she crashed into his arms while breathing heavily.
He instinctively caught her and felt the rise and fall of her beautiful breasts on his chest as the warmth of her fragrant breaths tickled his neck.
He sighed internally.
But then I would have to hide those flings from Bat Girl here.
Otherwise… she would probably eat me alive. And as for the women involved? I don’t even want to imagine their fate.
Why are all the women around me so terrifyingly possessive? First Master Nyx and now Virelle.
His hand gently patted Virelle’s back as she held onto him.
He turned slightly and glanced at Velcy who stood quietly at his side while leaning onto him.
But my little Velcy is definitely not like the two of them. She listens to me.
A resigned sigh echoed in his mind.
Well, I will have to take some risks if I want to live this life to the fullest.
