Chapter 102: _She’s A Strong Woman
My eyes widened when I heard Lyra’s words.
Phoebe was involved in an accident?
“Wait, wait…” Elsa, who’d been silently standing behind me, walked forward, a surprised smirk on her face. “You’re saying the wannabe Luna finally got karma for her actions?”
My brows furrowed into a frown as soon as I heard those words from her mouth.
Lyra seemed lost and didn’t know how to respond to Elsa.
But I did.
“Can you be any less repulsive, Elsa?” I snapped, swerving my head to her. “Regardless of how much you hate her, can’t you show even an ounce of humanity?”
Elsa scoffed, rolling her eyes. “Humanity? No offense, my Alpha, but Phoebe doesn’t deserve any sympathy from me. She cheated on you and–”
“And that’s my burden to bear!” I couldn’t take it anymore and snarled, turning my body fully to face her.
I advanced a few steps forward, my wolf growling inside me.
My intimidating Alpha aura was enough to frighten her, forcing her to take several steps back as her body quivered with fear.
“K– Kaene. I… I…” She stuttered, her mouth shaking as she found it hard to speak.
As much as I wanted to slash her in the face and more, I withheld myself, calming my wolf down before he made me do anything rash.
This was all him.
Well… Mostly him.
Phoebe betrayed us but she was still our mate. She was still MY mate.
Not to mention I’d marked her, making the bond even stronger. Now I couldn’t stand someone insulting her in my presence, despite everything.
“You have no right to talk about Phoebe or my life with her.” I pointed my finger at her, baring my teeth which were so close to becoming fangs if I didn’t calm myself.
Elsa seemed hesitant at first but then gathered confidence to speak. “B– But you know it’s true, Alpha. You deserve someone who’s going to stand by your side without betraying you. Someone whose name bears importance in this pack. Someone like–”
“You?” I tilted my head, disdain laced in my voice. “I don’t have time for this, Elsa. But this should be the last time I witness you talking about stuff that has nothing to do with you.”
After glaring at her one last time, I turned to Lyra who blinked at me awkwardly.
Ugh, I didn’t like the poor girl witnessing all that.
“Let’s go,” I grunted, about to head out of the suite when Lyra held me back.
“Sir, you’re… You’re still in your night robe.” She said with a blush on her face, her eyes lingering on my body.
Oh…
Currently, I was wearing a black robe with fur linings on the neck and hands, as well as black pants. But the robe was open, leaving my chest exposed.
“Elsa, leave,” I ordered, rushing back into the suite.
I glanced at Lyra and added. “You, prepare one of my cars. I’ll be out in a minute.”
Lyra nodded and bowed her head before scurrying away while Elsa stood there gawking at me speechless as I stepped into my walk-in closet, completely ignoring her.
I had other things on my mind right now.

After I’d gotten dressed, I accompanied Lyra to the hospital, sitting in the back seat of the car she’d prepared.
She sat beside me while the driver drove.
“What was the accident like?” I queried, staring out of the window.
My mind was barely here but I needed some kind of distraction.
Luckily, Lyra was quick to respond, tapping a bit on her iPad. “Our sources said she was hit by a car and got rushed to a hospital run by a werewolf, sir. Her parents should be there with her.”
I nodded my head, though I had my hand on my chin, rubbing it while my mind drifted away for a bit.
If she hadn’t run away, she would still be safe and okay back in the pack house. But of course, she just had to be stubborn.
“That woman is giving me a headache,” I grumbled to myself, rubbing my forehead with frustration.
But Lyra probably thought I was still talking to her and asked. “What was that, sir?”
I came back to reality, shaking my head before turning my gaze to her.
I waved my hand dismissively. “It’s fine, Lyra. It’ll be better if we get there on time and transfer Phoebe to one of the pack doctors. There’s only so much werewolf doctors with access to human medicine can do.”
Lyra nodded her understanding but still had her gaze on me. “I’m sure the Luna will be fine, sir. She’s a strong woman.” She blurted.
I arched an eyebrow but merely smiled. “I know that.”
Soon enough, we arrived at the hospital, which seemed small, in my opinion.
We hurried into the lobby where Lyra moved to the receptionist and helped with questioning.
“We’re here to see Phoebe Skywalker,” Lyra announced with a whisper.
I squinted my eyes as I scanned my eyes around.
The lobby was a mix of humans and werewolves and also some witches from the smell of magic I got from them.
I became wary, even more eager now to get Phoebe out of here. All the supernatural beings in the world have been on high alert since the increase in Hunter attacks.
Even the most simple-looking human could be a Hunter in disguise.
It was weird seeing supernaturals and humans mixing in this part of the city.
Fortunately, the receptionist was a werewolf and immediately recognized me thanks to my Alpha aura.
“Alpha Kaene.” Her voice trembled with respect as she pointed her fingers in a direction. “Take those stairs to the first floor. Third door to your left.”
I smirked wryly and acknowledged her with a curt nod before following her directions.
When we got to the door upstairs, I burst into it without knocking but then spotted a man and a woman sitting close to a hospital bed.
They both jumped, startled by my abrupt appearance but I briefly ignored that when my gaze landed on the person on the bed.
“Phoebe…”
