Chapter 133: _She’s At The Center Of Everything
Everyone became silent, fixing their gazes on the Lycan at his revelation.
I tilted my head, curious to hear if he could throw more light on what he was saying. “Go on, Lycan. Do you have anyone in mind who could be a threat out there? And do you have any ideas on how we could fish them out?” I queried.
The Lycan sighed, readjusting his sitting position before he continued. “Well, I don’t have any suspects right now. For all we know, the threat in question could be someone in this room.”
He paused, scanning his gaze around everyone present to emphasize his point.
Everyone became silent once again, the tension in the room becoming palpable as they glanced among themselves. But I kept my gaze fixed on the Lycan, drumming my fingers on the armrest of my seat.
Seeing my gaze on him the Lycan cleared his throat and continued. “Anyway, while I don’t have any suspects in mind, I have noticed a pattern which I’m certain others here have noticed. And that’s the fact that all these bad things happening in this pack seem to revolve around one person.”
He paused yet again, keeping his gaze away from me while his fingers fidgeted.
It didn’t take a genius to know who he was referring to.
All eyes subconsciously went to Phoebe who sat there, lowering her gaze with a complicated expression on her face.
She seemed nervous to speak out. But I discreetly held her hand, trying to reassure her that I trusted her.
After our brief exchange, I turned my gaze back to the Lycan, my eyes dimming as I spoke. “What are you insinuating, Lycan Davos? That Phoebe is the other threat within this pack?”
The Lycan’s eyes widened in surprise especially when he saw the menacing expression on my face.
He quickly shook his head, waving his hands in front of his face. “No, no, no. That’s not what I’m saying at all… I… I just…” He stuttered, glancing around as if he was searching for some kind of support.
But everyone else in the Council pretended as if he weren’t there, looking away and trying to avoid chiming in.
I crossed one leg on top of the other, tilting my head with an expectant gaze on the Lycan.
“I’m not exactly trying to insinuate that the Luna is a traitor.” He explained, trying to sound calm even though the fear in his eyes was noticeable.
I couldn’t care less about that.
If he didn’t make himself clear, I might do something rash right here in the presence of the other Council members.
After everything Phoebe and I have been through and after we saved each other’s lives on different occasions, our bond has become significantly stronger.
She’s MINE. I had my mark on her to prove that.
Regardless of what happened between her and Negan, I wouldn’t let anyone come between me and what was mine again.
Speaking of Negan, he seemed oddly quiet in the meeting.
Usually, he was rather playful and liked making his opinion known loud and clear in discussions like this. He’d barely spoken since this meeting started.
I just took it as him still being awkward after everything and ignored it, turning my gaze back to the Lycan who gulped.
“Alright, please hear me out, Alpha.” The Lycan sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose and trying to collect his words. “What I’m trying to say is that every bad thing that has happened in this pack seems to revolve around the Luna. From the poisoning at the Luna ball. To the murder of her first maid, Miranda, which are both still unsolved cases by the way…”
Everyone became deathly silent, glancing among ourselves as the Lycan’s words began sinking in.
That… Really was an odd pattern.
“What I’m suggesting is that maybe the threat who’s still out there has some obsession of some kind on the Luna.” The Lycan finalized, shrugging.
Suddenly, Beta Negan, who’d been quiet all this while, chuckled silently, causing everyone to turn their gazes to him.
When he noticed our gazes on him his eyebrows furrowed seriously. “Pardon me, I just found the Lycan’s statement amusing. What would make this ‘threat’ obsessed with the Luna? What could be so special about her that would make them do all these atrocious things because of her?” He remarked.

Once again, no one had an answer and remained silent.
I mean, if someone asked me what could be so special about Phoebe, I would probably be able to make a whole list.
But that’s also because she’s my mate and I love her.
Gosh, it still sounds weird admitting it but I really do…
“Well, I guess this is getting us nowhere.” Gamma Thane suddenly sighed, placing both his hands on his lap. “However, I’d suggest we come up with something. An event of sorts with the Luna in the limelight. If this threat has some obsession with her then they’ll certainly be drawn by this.”
A slight smile curled up my lips as I turned my gaze to everyone else.
They all seemed to silently agree with the idea and funny enough, I already had an event in mind.
It was one that I’d tried planning with Lyra before the whole betrayal.
“I had a gathering in my mind where I’d make things clear about my feelings for Luna Phoebe and come clean about everything that has been happening,” I announced, holding Phoebe’s hand and glancing at her.
She glanced at me as well, her lips curling into a smile that matched mine.
After a few seconds, I realized that we were staring at each other and it was becoming awkward, so I forced a cough and continued. “Anyway, we can organize the gathering and invite everyone. All the pack members, both the elites and those of the lower class.”
Everyone nodded their understanding, simply ignoring the exchange between Phoebe and me.
Just then, Negan coughed awkwardly, standing up and bowing slightly. “It’s settled then. We’ll organize this event, and hopefully, we’ll be able to use it as a means to fish out the threat obsessed with our dear Luna.” He stated.
He proceeded to give me a wink with a knowing look in his eyes before walking away.
The Gamma and Lycan glanced at themselves, lost on what to do until I gave them a dismissive wave. “You all can go. We’ll begin making preparations for this gathering, including security details and the like.”
The two men nodded their heads before getting up as well, following behind Negan and shutting the suite door behind them.
When they left, I grabbed Phoebe’s chin, forcing her to turn her gaze to me.
