Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 165
Chapter 165: _Sanctuary
After watching Lycan Davos guide the family of wolves to Elder Gita’s residence, my mind subconsciously went to Phoebe.
I’d entrusted her to Negan, and I trusted him, but seeing the scale of the attack first hand had me worried.
What if they get caught up with something too much for even them to handle?
I brought out my phone just then, dialing Negan’s number.
No response.
“Damn it!” I grunted, my mind racing as I tried to make a decision.
Either I find Phoebe and make sure she’s okay or I continue fighting out here and protecting as many of my people as possible.
It was a tough decision but when I heard the cries and screams of werewolves from different parts of the pack, I shook my head.
Instantly, I shifted back into my wolf and sprinted toward the Alpha mansion.
If my guess was correct, the Hunters would target that part of the estate more than the others.
I was right…
Troops of Hunters lined up, lighting up the mansion’s compound with explosives and then waiting for the wolves who were hiding inside to run out.
I gritted my teeth, increasing my speed, and instantly pounced on one of the Hunters.
“What the–” Before she could curse, I gave her a swift death, biting her head off and then jumping to the next Hunter.
“That should be the Alpha of the pack!” One of the Hunters, a male, yelled in a panic, pointing a gun at me.
“How the heck do you know?” Another asked.
“Don’t be dumb. Look at the size of that thing.” He gestured at me before taking a shot.
How flattering…
However, I easily dodged the bullet and then proceeded to swipe the gun out of his hand before slashing a deep hole through his chest, causing blood to spray everywhere.
I continued like this, avoiding the silver daggers and silver bullets of the Hunters and then killing them with a slash here and a bite there.
Unfortunately, there were too many, and soon, one of them drew out her hand before sending a palm strike to my head when I was about to bite her.
When her hand made contact with my head, it sent a surge of electricity through my body, causing me to jerk in pain before falling to the ground like a rag doll.
‘Electric gloves?’ I thought to myself, whimpering silently before growling at the female Hunter.
She seemed skilled, her expression calm and stoic, as expected of a leader.
She tilted her head, a cold smirk curling up her lips. “The legendary Alpha of the Blue Moon pack. Your pack has somehow managed to survive all our attempts to wipe you out of existence, but luckily, that ends today.”
Suddenly, she stretched her hand to her back, drawing out a silver pole with a sharp silver blade pointing at the end.
I stared at the blade, struggling back to my feet while still in my wolf form.
I didn’t have time for this.
Just when she was about to step forward and make a move, I drew in a deep breath and howled.
But it wasn’t any ordinary howl.

The howl was a sonic attack, sending a strong torrent of wind at the female Hunter and her comrades behind her that pushed them.
They struggled, trying to keep their footing but unfortunately for them, I wasn’t willing to let them off that easily.
‘Let’s give them everything we’ve got, boy.’ I said to my wolf before increasing the power of the howl without pausing.
This time, they had to place their hands on their ears, gritting their teeth in pain.
Soon, they all got flung away, landing on the ground several meters away.
Their pained grunts weren’t satisfying enough. I needed them dead.
Without warning, I sprinted at them, instantly using my paw to crush the head of one into the snow-filled ground, sending blood and brain matter everywhere.
I proceeded to slice off the heads of the other two before finally grabbing the leader of the group by her stomach.
“Ahh!” She screamed, placing her hand on my head again and activating her electricity attack.
But I ignored the pain, sinking my teeth into her stomach and then cutting her in half, howling with satisfaction when I saw both halves of her body on the floor.
However, the shock from the electric gloves finally caught up to me, forcing me to shift back into my human form for the second time since I joined this battle.
“Well… That was something.” I muttered to myself, staring coldly at the corpse of the female Hunter.
I never knew they had such skilled women.
Just then, my gaze went to the black glove on her right hand.
Without a second thought, I took it off her hand and wore it, checking it out a bit before balling my right hand into a fist.
“Help! Somebody help us!” A voice screamed from the Alpha mansion just then, snapping me back to reality.
Right… The people.
With help from my enhanced sense of smell, I was able to pick up the scent of survivors within the mansion who had come here during the attack, thinking it was safe.
I ran through the flames and smoke, watching the mansion that I’d grown up in burn down around me.
It was sad, but I had no time to grieve.
After a few minutes, I was able to successfully get over ten wolves out of the mansion.
They were covered in ash and shaken with fear, but my presence seemed to calm them a bit.
“Follow my lead.” I glanced at them briefly before shifting into my wolf.
Without another word, I sprinted out of the mansion, slowing my pace a bit so they could catch up.
Eventually, we got to Elder Gita’s residence, a nice little one-story duplex surrounded by a lush ecosystem of trees and flower beds.
But apart from this, there were also several magic wards, placed here with help from witches.
I led the survivors into the compound which was surrounded by pack soldiers who were all on high alert.
“Where’s Gamma Thane?” I asked one of the soldiers, dimming my eyes in search of him.
However, the soldiers all had solemn expressions on their faces, causing my body to tense.
“He’s dead, sir.”
