Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 175
Chapter 175: _Change Everything

Elder Gita’s plan to obliterate all the Hunters in one move worked.
It was just too bad she had to bring out a trump card like the blue moonstone after we’ve lost so many people.
Not to mention the injuries, both internal and external that I’d sustained in the process of carrying out her plan.
“How are you feeling?” Phoebe asked, patting my back lightly with a wry smile on her face.
I forced a smile as well, trying to move my back in the chair I sat on.
Unfortunately, all the wounds I sustained stung like I’d been poured hot acid, forcing me to rest my back on the chair with a defeated sigh.
“Does that answer your question?” I turned to her and asked, chuckling dryly.
This wasn’t the first time I was poisoned by Wolfsbane, but it was the first time I’ve been exposed to such a large amount all at once.
Not to mention the fact that I was shot in the shoulder by a silver bullet.
“I should’ve never let you go out there,” Phoebe said bitterly, lowering her gaze.
We sat in a private room within Elder Gita’s sanctuary where we were being administered treatment by her maids.
Just outside the door was the sound of people crying and mourning loved ones, while also screaming in pain from their injuries.
It was horrific.
Anyway, I held Phoebe’s hand, forcing her to raise her head and stare at me. “I’m still the Alpha, Mi Amor. I still have to fulfill my duties to the people of this pack. And sadly…”
I paused, breathing heavily.
“Sadly, I wasn’t even able to fulfill that duty,” I said with a despondent tone. “More than half the pack members are dead. Hundreds of people were slaughtered because I was too incompetent to–”
“Their deaths aren’t your fault!” Phoebe snapped, slapping my wrist.
I withdrew my hand, the slap actually hurting me a bit due to the poisoning of the wolfsbane.
But Phoebe ignored that and continued. “You did your best. It was an ambush and was supposed to be our wedding day. We’re literally being treated for our injuries in our wedding clothes.”
I subconsciously glanced at my body and realized that I was still wearing a white long-sleeved shirt that was buttoned down halfway.
I chuckled at the realization, shaking my head. “Maybe we are cursed,” I muttered.
She sighed, wrapping her arm around my shoulder. “Even if we are, it doesn’t dispel the fact that there are some shitty people out there. But we’ll face all of them like we’ve always done.”
She grabbed my hand, squeezing it a bit before adding with a whisper. “Together.”
I smiled, nodding my head as a maid walked up to me, holding a steamy cup of what seemed like tea.
“Elder Gita said I should give you this, sir.” She said with a bow, presenting the cup to me.
I glanced at Phoebe who gave me a knowing look.
We both know what happened last time I took tea.
However, before I could take the cup, the door burst open, and in came Elder Gita, her staff in her right hand and a somber expression on her face.

“I’ve administered all the right medications to Beta Negan. He should be recovering soon.” She announced, dimming her eyes when she looked at me. “You can take the tea, Alpha. It’s not poisoned, don’t worry.”
I gulped, nodding slightly as I took the cup from the maid’s hands and stared at the bluish-green tea inside.
After a little hesitation, I began drinking the tea, ignoring the bitter taste while Elder Gita cleared her throat to say something.
“You all can leave.” She addressed the maids, glancing around the room.
They all bowed before exiting the room, closing the door behind them.
“We need to talk.” She said, unintentionally adding more tension to the room. “Our pack has suffered great losses unlike anything we’ve seen in centuries. Moving forward from this will be difficult. Almost impossible even, especially now that we’ll have to relocate.”
She paused, sadness lingering in her eyes. “We’ll have to keep our interactions with humans completely nonexistent now. We’ll have to live in the shadows even more than before. Coming back up to half of our former glory will be nearly impossible.”
By the moon…
I tightened my grip around Phoebe’s hand, subconsciously glancing at her.
She glanced at me as well, despair showing in her eyes.
However, Elder Gita added with a low tone. “The key word there is ‘nearly’ impossible. Unless, of course, there was a way to change everything that happened. To go back in time perhaps.”
What the heck?
“Is… Is that even possible?” Phoebe asked, sounding uncertain. “Maybe the Blue Moonstone? Does it have such power?”
I tilted my head, staring at Elder Gita expectantly.
What she was insinuating was madness. Or at least, it sounded like madness.
In a world of werewolves, witches, vampires, and other supernatural weirdness, was time travel really that far-fetched?
“No, the Blue Moonstone doesn’t have such power.” Elder Gita shook her head with a wry smile. “However, all hope isn’t lost. The coven I mentioned knows a vast array of things. Including, according to rumors, knowledge on controlling the concepts of space and time.”
Well… this was a lot of information to digest in a few seconds.
“These witches. Would you suggest we go see them?” I asked the obvious, shaking my head soon after. “What am I saying? When can we go see them? Today? Tomorrow?”
I was getting excited and rightfully so.
If this was true, we could change everything. Go back in time and stop the witch who made the device from doing so and prepare for any possible Hunter attacks.
We could bring everyone back!
Mom…
“We can go today, Alpha.” Elder Gita said calmly. “But we’ll have to be quick. News of the attack would reach other supernatural factions in the city and they might have to go into hiding.”
