Chapter 177: _Don’t Plan On Being Nice
With Elder Gita’s guidance, we were able to make it to the gathering place of the Morrigan sisters.
I stepped out of the car, scanning my gaze around.
Standing before us was a wooden cottage with smoke coming out of its chimney and rising into the night sky.
The cottage was situated at the outskirts of the city which was covered in woodlands stretching for miles, but this particular part of the forest had been cleared of any tall grasses.
“Hmm. Cozy.” Phoebe muttered when she stepped out of the car, forcing me to glance at her.
She stared up at the cottage, her gaze filled with warmth.
This place probably brought back memories of her peaceful and quieter life with her family.
Before she was forced into life as a Luna.
“Yeah, cozy and deadly quiet.” Beta Negan scoffed when he got out of the car as well, turning his gaze to Elder Gita. “Are you sure your witch pals haven’t left yet?”
A slight smirk curled up my lips.
There’s a glimpse of the Negan I was used to.
Meanwhile, Elder Gita ignored him, taking the lead and stepping away from the car.
She tightened her grip on her staff but didn’t say a word or move when she paused a few meters away from the door.
“Why isn’t she knocking?” Lycan Davos asked with a mix of irritation and impatience.
Everyone was on edge after the attack and all the losses we each got, but I couldn’t let it continue.
“Patience, Davos,” I muttered calmly, folding my arms in front of my chest. “Elder Gita knows what she’s doing.”
I stared curiously at her, tapping my fingers on my elbows.
Suddenly, the door swung open seemingly on its own, causing everyone to glance warily at each other.
Elder Gita glanced back at our group, giving us a curt nod before she walked into the cottage like it was her home.
I glanced at Phoebe, grabbing her hand and walking with her, the others following behind us.
“You don’t have to always hold my hand, you know?” She remarked when we stepped into the cottage, her voice low.
However, before I could say anything in response, a soft feminine voice spoke from a corner, forcing me to turn my gaze there.
“Werewolves of the Blue Moon pack. Welcome.” The voice belonged to a woman standing close to a fireplace.
She was dark-skinned and had a bright smile on her face… Not exactly what I was expecting.
The inside of the cottage was quite cozy, indeed, but it also had a ‘witchy’ vibe to it.
Crystals and animal fur were hanging on the walls, while the woman who greeted us wore a necklace adorned with flowers, crystals, and bones.
“A green witch,” Negan muttered at the side, causing all of us to glance at him.
However, before any of us could query him on how he knew that, a door creaked open at a corner, forcing me to turn my gaze there.
Four other women walked into the room through the door, all having somber expressions on their faces.
“We heard about what happened in your pack, Elder Gita.” One of the women said with a sad tone. “The birds whispered the news to us. Those Hunters are despicable as always.”

The women all seemed to be around the same age range, looking like they were in their late thirties or early forties.
However, for some odd reason, I felt like they were much older than that.
After all, it wasn’t shocking to see witches living for centuries.
“Yes, the attack was unexpected, my sisters.” Elder Gita acted as our spokesperson, gesturing at the rest of us. “We’ve all lost something today but we aren’t here to dwell on loss.”
There was a pause after that, the tension in the room seeming to triple.
I glanced at Phoebe who seemed to be nervous, her fingers tapping the side of her dress.
“Ah, you seek knowledge.” The first witch who welcomed us, who also seemed to be the leader asked, snapping her fingers soon after.
The action caused a cup to materialize in her hands after which she squatted and picked up a kettle placed in the fires.
I furrowed my eyebrows when I noticed that the flames had touched her and she wasn’t even affected by it.
“Well, Gita, we have access to tons of knowledge. What kind do you seek?” The first witch asked with a calm smile. “Necromancy? Reconnecting with the lost? I can perform a seance to help you with that.”
Wow…
Unlike what Elder Gita had led us to believe, these women seemed nice.
They were way more chill when compared to other witches that I’ve come across.
“We don’t need knowledge on any of that, Freya.” Elder Gita shook her head, her tone becoming more solemn than before. “What we seek is knowledge to change everything. To stop the Hunters before they could even develop a way to find us.”
I subconsciously tensed up with each word she uttered.
This was taking too much time and I was becoming impatient myself.
“Time travel.” I blurted, causing all eyes to land on me. “We seek knowledge on how to time travel and prevent the events that happened today from actually–”
“Stop.” The leader, Freya, raised her hand, the gesture causing the flames in the fireplace to increase in intensity.
I glanced at the others behind me, who all became alert, Lycan Davos’s hand already holding the hilt of his sword.
“Time travel? We aren’t capable of such, Alpha Kaene.” She stated, glancing at her sisters who all nodded their heads in agreement.
I clicked my tongue, stepping forward and standing beside Elder Gita. “Maybe you don’t have the power to do that. But you never said anything about it being impossible now, did you?”
The witch remained unfazed, but I looked into her emerald green eyes and saw the irritation in them.
Whatever kindness that had been present in them a few seconds ago had been dispelled now.
Well, I didn’t plan on being nice either. These witches obviously knew something.
