Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 180
Chapter 180: _No Sudden Movements

After everything that happened, the last thing I expected was Elder Gita coming in and telling us there was a possibility that we could change it all.
Change all the death. All the destruction.
Change time.
I never imagined that magic could be used for time travel. It sounded like something out of the movies.
Anyway, after Kaene and Elder Gita assembled a group composed of the surviving leaders of the pack and two elderly noblemen, we went off to see some witches who were acquainted with Elder Gita.
I hadn’t considered the possibility that our trip wouldn’t end there… And now we were here, in the forest of ancients.
“What do you mean something’s watching us?” Negan whispered with an alert tone, glancing around after Kaene made his observation.
The group stuck together, turning around slowly as if we were expecting something to jump out of the bushes at any second.
Something was wrong.
I couldn’t hear anything but my instincts were beginning to pick up on whatever Kaene was sensing.
“No more talking,” Kaene whispered, that statement obviously directed at Negan.
He seemed oddly excited, but at the same time, it was as if his mood kept fluctuating since before we got here.
He’d barely said a word to me apart from when he explained how paths can be formed naturally in a forest a few seconds ago…
‘I didn’t even get to tell Caleb and mom goodbye.’ I thought to myself, my heart racing in my chest.
What if I died here without them even knowing? They’ve already lost Dad… I couldn’t imagine what would happen if they lost me too.
I balled my hands into fists, silently promising myself to survive. For them.
Suddenly, my wolf howled from within me on high alert, seeming distraught about something that she saw as a threat.
“Duck!” Elder Gita yelled out just then, jumping out of the spot we stood on.
By the time the rest of us followed suit, the ground where we’d been standing crumbled, rocks and debris flying everywhere, and dust covering the place.
I landed on my butt at another spot, coughing and covering my nose with my elbow while trying to search for the others through the cloud of dust.
“Kaene? Negan?!” I called out, squinting my eyes through the dust.
However, my eyes widened in terror when I saw the outline of something in the dust cloud.
Something HUGE.
I got up quickly when I heard a low, guttural rumbling coming from the creature within the dust cloud.
“Everyone, follow the light!” Elder Gita’s voice rang out just then.
Suddenly, a bright white light shone at a spot a few meters away from me, and then the dust cloud cleared in an instant.
However, when the dust settled, I instantly felt like it should’ve remained.
“What the fuck is that?!” Lycan Davos yelled out in panic, drawing out his sword and pointing it at the thing.

The ‘thing’ in question was a panther-like creature standing about twenty feet tall on its four limbs, with spikes on its shoulders and tail and a pair of eyes that glowed with an otherworldly green fire that seemed like they could peer into our souls.
“I figured that a forest controlled by such ancient witches would have… Otherworldly creatures.” Elder Gita muttered from where she stood beside me.
I scanned my gaze around and saw Kaene standing several meters in front of me with Negan beside him.
Meanwhile, the creature growled, the rumble from its growl causing the very ground to vibrate.
“No. Sudden. Movements.” Kaene said cautiously, slowly taking a stance as he stared at the creature.
The creature didn’t seem to be willing to attack anytime soon, but it’s bared fangs dripping with foamy saliva, and its tensed muscles made me feel like lunch.
It’s lunch…
“Hold,” Kaene whispered, his tone getting even warier.
I glanced at one of the elder nobles who stood beside Elder Gita.
He was shaking in his boots, taking a step back away from the creature.
“Sir Elijah, I said hold,” Kaene whispered with gritted teeth, glaring at the older man.
Unfortunately, the creature already had its eyes on him and took a step forward, prowling like a typical feline.
That alone was enough to make Sir Elijah take a few more steps back before he turned around and began running.
“Shit!” Kaene cursed and in the next second, all hell broke loose.
The creature roared, its muscles tensing again as some of the spikes on its shoulders shot out, heading toward Sir Elijah.
The older man was able to narrowly avoid being hit by the spikes which pierced through the ground instead.
However, he stumbled in the process, falling face-first to the ground.
“Bloody hell…” Negan muttered from where he stood before sprinting toward the older man.
I glanced back at the creature, which now had its green eyes on Negan.
Just when I was about to shift into my wolf, a ghastly howl echoed around the forest, followed by a large bipedal wolf-like beast pouncing on the panther-like creature.
Lycan Davos…
Though he was way smaller than the creature in his transformed form, he was able to put on a fight, clawing at it and forcing it to stumble backward.
“We have to kill that thing!” Elder Gita yelled out just then. “All this commotion will attract the attention of other creatures and that’ll only make things harder.”
Yeah, good point. But how do we even kill this thing?!
Suddenly, the creature gained the upper hand and swatted Lycan Davos away like a fly.
However, before it could step forward and finish off the Lycan, its body began shaking erratically, and its eyes opened wide.
My eyebrows furrowed into a frown, but that soon turned into a shocked expression when I spotted Kaene on top of the creature, his right hand placed on its forehead.
I was confused about what was happening until I noticed the black glove he wore on that hand.
It was sparking with actual bolts of electricity!
