Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 188
Chapter 188: _You Are Not Pure
What?! This woman had pushed the buttons.
I was boiling with anger when I glanced at Kaene who slowly turned his head at her direction. His face had confusion written all over it.
“My husband is the alpha and I reserved that seat for him, do you always have a problem with my decisions, Iona?” I stood up as I clenched the edge of the table in front of me.
She scoffed as if mocking me. I lost it when she turned her gaze to Kaene ignoring me.
She ignored me! How dare she?
“Alpha Kaene, please know that Elder Gita is the spiritual leader of your pack, that chair is meant for the spiritual leader, She’s the one we know.”
Oh, this woman had guts!
I was beyond angry at this point, feeling blood pumping faster in my veins. I felt the need to do something… Anything.
I would not be disrespected!
My eyes subconsciously traveled around in search of anything that could do the job until I heard a sound. It was the chair scraping against the floor.
Kaene stood up and his alpha aura was unleashed. I was surprised by how strong his aura was despite the disconnection from our wolves.
I could see Iona shrink, the pride in her eyes slowly disappeared.
“I don’t appreciate my wife or me being disrespected.”
His voice was filled with power, the kind that shuts everyone up and puts them in their rightful place.
I was shocked by the quick switch from being lovey-dovey with me a few minutes ago to the ever-domineering alpha.
I folded my hands as I watched her lower her gaze, it was my turn to smirk.
She cleared her throat and finally spoke out “Apologies Alpha, I was merely telling you the wish of the ancient ones, I am only but a mouthpiece.”
There she goes with her bullshit. The ancient ones want Elder Gita to sit on that chair?
I didn’t believe her, she was lying.
” The alpha can sit wherever he please, I’m sure the ancient ones will understand.” I turned my head to the familiar voice and I heard right, it was Elder Gita.
She was dressed in a gown like mine but it was white instead, her hair was let down with a few strands braided and beads attached to them.
“If that is what you want, sister.” Iona spoke in a calm voice that I almost got fooled.
Hypocrite.
I pulled Kaene as we both sat. I couldn’t describe how tired I felt from all this drama, it was barely noon and I almost prayed for the day to be over.
Elder Gita sat by Kaene’s left, she looked different… Peaceful. She looked like she enjoyed this place, like it was her home.
At least that makes one person that liked this place. She pulled a plate and began to dish her meal.
Oh right, the food! I’d forgotten thanks to Iona.
I pulled plates for Kaene and I too and I made sure to take from every dish on the table.
That was how famished I was.
Digging into the plate for my first bite, the others walked in together, including Negan.

My eyes filled with excitement as I saw him, he looked much better except for a slight discomfort on his face anytime he walked.
The wound hadn’t healed up completely, that was expected.
The first thing I noticed while they walked in was the matching cream coloured clothes, it was the same as Kaene wore and I grew increasingly suspicious by this.
Everyone wore cream coloured clothes except Elder Gita in white and of course Iona in a peach coloured form fitting gown. It had no sleeves, revealing her white skin and plum breasts. The top half was covered in what looks like crystals and it looked quite expensive too.
She got to wear expensive clothes but we didn’t.
Right on cue, before I could question the reason behind the choice of clothes, Iona cleared her throat “You have all cleansed your body, now it’s time to cleanse your mind.”
I glanced at every one at the table, we all wore the same look, confusion.
However, she continued “You all have cream coloured clothes because this is representing your mind, you simply are not pure.”
No kidding, genius. No one was pure or prefect including her lying ass.
I glanced at Elder Gita, she was wearing white, was she pure? I mean she is our pack’s spiritual leader and the moon goddess speaks through her.
At that moment, Negan pointed out the obvious “So, Elder Gita is wearing white because she’s pure?”
He scratched the back of his head but soon looked away as my eyes met his. What was wrong with him?
“Allow me to finish kind beta” she blurted.
“You can interpret Elder Gita’s outfit however you like but in as much as you have all done good deeds, you have all done bad things and you have unspeakable secrets too.”
She paused slightly as she stared at everyone, her gaze lingering slightly longer on me.
I wished I could pluck out those eyes.
“Your minds need to be cleansed before you can see the ancient ones.” The room fell into silence as we all weighed her words.
Sir Alan suddenly spoke “What does that mean and why do you have to make it sound like that?” he looked genuinely scared, like his secrets were about to be exposed.
Iona walked slowly like she had all the time in the world, reaching his chair. She placed her hands on his shoulders “How does it sound?”
A maid walked in before Sir Alan could reply her. Turning to Iona, she bowed her head “It is done.”
Iona gave a dismissive wave of her hand, making the maid bow once more before leaving the room.
I gave in to curiosity and asked her “What was done?”
She took in a deep breath “Tonight, you shall have the mind cleansing ritual.”
