Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 193
Chapter 193: _Phoebe’s Dream.
My eyes shot open. I was no longer in the ritual room.
I knew the dream had begun.
I stood at the entrance of a large hall. Large chandeliers hung from the ceiling, emitting warm golden lights, the hall was decorated with white roses and their scents wafted through the air.
I could hear soft music playing and the guests laughing as they each held a glass of wine.
It was breathtaking.
Everything felt perfect. Too perfect.
“Are you ready, baby?” I turned to the direction of the voice and then, I saw my dad.
His eyes softened as he looked at me, a warm smile on his face. He was dressed in a black suit and a white rose was attached to his chest pocket.
His hair was styled backwards and he looked so handsome and healthy.
My eyes welled up at the sight of him. I knew he was dead, but it felt so good to see him again.
He smiled softly as he spoke, “Come on baby, we don’t want to keep the groom waiting.”
I raised a brow in confusion, “What Groom?”
“It’s your wedding, silly girl.” He said playfully as he raised his arm, showing me that our arms were intertwined.
No way! This Isn’t real.
I glanced down and saw that I was dressed in a white ball gown.
A wedding gown.
It was embellished with pearls and tiny silver lights seemed to glow from the gown.
It was exquisite and looked crazy expensive.
My dad walked slowly into the hall. My legs dragged me along with him and my left hand held on tightly to a bouquet of flowers.
I took in the view of the guests as we walked in, their faces familiar yet strange. They had wide grins and looked at me with admiration, as if I were a bar of gold.
My eyes swept around the hall, then I saw him.
Kaene.
He was in a black suit that had hints of silver. His eyes locked with mine, filled with warmth and love. He looked every bit the Alpha he was meant to be, the looks, aura, stance and style.
Oh, I love this man.
He moved toward me and took my hand from my dad.
“You look beautiful, my love.” His soft voice melted my doubts away.
I felt my heart beat faster.
It felt real.
His touch, scent, voice and beautiful smile.

But I suddenly remembered, it was my wedding. An event that had already happened.
My mind screamed at me that something was wrong, but everything looked perfect.
This was my greatest wish, wasn’t it? A life with Kaene, no betrayal or loss. A future where we ruled together in peace.
Something was enchanting me, making me ignore that this was a dream I had to wake up from.
I looked around in search of an exit, but suddenly soft music began to play and Kaene pulled me closer.
“Dance with me.” He whispered as he pulled his face closer to my neck.
I nodded meekly, allowing him take the lead.
I was getting lost in the moment once more.
Then, everything changed.
The lights went off and the music stopped playing.
I looked around, the guests were still smiling, still dancing, but there was no light or music.
Their faces started melting. They didn’t have any facial features except for a large cruel smile on their faces.
A chill ran up my spine and I suddenly felt cold.
“This isn’t real.” I whispered.
Kaene tilted his head. “Why aren’t you dancing love?”
Why would I dance when there was no music?
I immediately snatched my hand from his grip. I had to leave this place.
My eyes scanned the hall for an exit once more and I finally saw it.
I wanted to run, as far as my legs could take me, but Kaene grabbed my hand.
“You’re leaving our wedding?” His eyes darkened, emptiness evident in them.
“This is not my wedding and you are not real.” I yelled, pushing him away.
Yes, I was back to my senses.
I ran as fast as I could to the exit, the guests trying to grab me as I ran past them.
I opened the exit and darkness enveloped me.
I shut my eyes tightly as I tried to catch my breath. Fear still running in my veins.
I opened my eyes and I found myself standing in the ruins of the pack.
The sky was filled with dark, heavy clouds, as if it were mourning the lost souls. The smell of burnt houses and blood filled the air, I saw bodies scattered across the ground.
And then I saw my dad, his body lifeless and eyes closed, a pile of rubble had fallen on top of him.
“Dad?!” I choked out a sob, placing my hand over my mouth as I tried to control myself.
“No, this isn’t real!” I screamed.
My voice echoed like I was in an empty room, making me realize that what I saw was indeed an illusion.
I fell to my knees, crying hard. I didn’t deserve seeing my dad alive and well one minute and the next he’s laying under a pile of fallen bricks.
I clenched my chest as I kept crying, but I heard a sound different from my echoing cries.
I stayed quiet as I tried to listen to the sound once more. Soon, I heard it again.
I stood up, trying to find the source of the sound.
I was glad, maybe I wasn’t the only one here.
I got closer and the sound was louder now, it was a clanging sound.
I could see someone, a child precisely. His back was turned to me as he kept hitting two iron bars against each other.
I was confused, do the witches make children undergo this ritual too?
“Who are you?” I whispered, stepping forward as I tried to reach his shoulders.
The boy turned to face me. He sniffled, his voice barely audible. “Mommy? Is that you?”
I trembled with fear, gripping the edge of my dress tightly. The boy looked so much like Keane, like his younger version.
“Mommy, help me.” He spoke once more, his voice louder now.
Panic surged through me. I couldn’t find the right words to say, but I knew I wanted to help him.
I took a step forward and the ground cracked, I took another step and the crack expanded, forming a straight line to the boy.
A small circle formed around his tiny frame and the ground where he sat began to crack.
He screamed. I panicked too.
“No! Hold on, I’m coming.” I wanted to jump, to grab him in one go.
The ground cracked wider, faster and before I could blink, the boy fell through the circle.
I froze in shock, he screamed as he fell deeper into crack.
I screamed with him in terror.
And then, silence. I didn’t hear him anymore.
