Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 194
Chapter 194: _You Are Not Real
I fell to my knees, still shaken by what had just happened.
This was pure torture. I couldn’t take it anymore.
I stood up, looking at the circle the boy fell through, a sob escaping my lips.
The boy’s screams still echoed in my mind
He had called me his mom too. I clenched my chest as I felt the pain of losing him.
I didn’t want to stay there anymore, so I ran and didn’t look back.
My vision blurred with tears as I sprinted through the ruins of the pack. I didn’t know where I was going, but I just wanted to leave this place.
I slowed down when I saw the Alpha mansion standing tall in all its glory. Then I noticed the scenery had changed once more.
The mansion wasn’t in ruins like it had been when the hunters came. I looked around and there were no ruins. It was as beautiful as I remembered it to be.
I walked slowly through the gates, observing the surroundings.
The sky was bright this time and sunlight escaped through white clouds. The ambience seemed to speak peace.
For a moment, I almost believed I was safe.
But I knew better.
This wasn’t real.
Finally, I made my way to the door of the mansion, opening it. I was instantly attacked by the sounds of talking and laughing that came from the dining area.
I walked in and was shocked by the sight. I saw Kaene and Elsa sat to his right, giggling at whatever he whispered in her ear.
That was my seat.
And I saw her father, Mr Thatcher. He drank from a cup of wine and wiped off the remnants of a piece of cake that was left on his moustache.
Kaene’s mom sat right by him, cutting a piece of steak with utmost composure and class. She smiled as she listened to Elsa yapping.
They looked like a happy family.
I swallowed hard. What’s going on?
This is wrong, very wrong.
Is this what it would have looked like if Elsa married Kaene?
Determined to find out what’s happening, I stomped forward. Perhaps I was angry or I was just jealous, but I didn’t care.
This was my house and Kaene was my husband. I would have it no other way. Dream or not.
“It’s so hard to keep a secret so I’ll just spill it.” Elsa’s annoying voice rang through my ears.
She turned to face Kaene with a large smile on her face.
I wished to wipe that stupid smile off the bitch’s face.
Kaene smiled back, and I almost lost my mind.

What the heck?!
Why would he smile back? He hated Elsa.
I hated her.
“Baby, I’m pregnant.” She squealed in happiness.
I came to an abrupt stop.
Rage pulsed through my veins and I didn’t think straight anymore. I felt blood flow faster in my veins.
She was pregnant with whose child? Kaene’s?
I didn’t wait for their reactions to the news. I immediately lurched forward, grabbing Elsa’s hair from the back.
I pulled her out of the chair and I punched her as hard as I could. Elsa screamed like the little bitch she was and I definitely enjoyed it.
She fell to the ground, blood dripping from her nose.
I smirked, satisfied with my work. I reached for her again, but a hard kick sent me flying into the wall.
I heard my rib crack as I hit the wall and I swear it hurt like hell. I glanced up to see Kaene towering over me.
“Who do you think you are?” Kaene roared, his eyes darkened as raw anger flashed across his face.
Kaene kicked me. He kicked me to defend Elsa. The realization was enough to break my heart.
“It’s_its me, Kaene.” I stuttered, not finding the right words to say as I winced from the pain in my ribs.
“It’s Alpha Kaene, you lowly maid.” Kaene’s mother spat out in fury.
My eyes widened in shock as her words registered in my mind.
No, I was not a maid. Not anymore.
I am the Luna of this pack and I would not take this.
I refused to be treated this way.
I held my ribs as I slowly stood up, placing my hand on the wall for support.
“Stay down.” I heard Kaene say as a kick landed on my ribs once more.
I wheezed from the pain, struggling to breathe as blood flowed from my mouth.
“Guards!” Kaene yelled and I heard booming footsteps. They came in, bowing their heads.
“This thing just attacked your Luna, throw her into the dungeons.” Kaene said.
So Elsa was the Luna.
Very funny, witches. I see the game you’re trying to play.
I let the guards take me. I was in too much pain to resist, and I didn’t want them dragging me away roughly.
I saw Kaene by Elsa’s side, rubbing her back as he tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.
“Baby, I want her dead.” She locked eyes with me, a wicked smirk played on her lips. A smirk only I could see.
I froze in my tracks. No, Kaene wouldn’t kill me.
He loves me.
He looked at me with pure disdain and then, he turned to the guards. “Kill her.”
Fear gripped me tightly. “No! Kaene, you can’t do that to me.”
He didn’t look at me once or hear my pleas.
No, Kaene you love me.
You can’t kill me.
A sharp pain surged through my head as the guards dragged me away.
I shut my eyes, trying to escape the pain.
Tears ran down my cheeks as I thought of everything I had gone through.
The love I shared with Kaene, my parents and after all that, I would die because of Elsa.
The guards placed my back against a wooden pole and tied my hands behind my back.
Wait! This is a dream.
This isn’t real.
My eyes shot open and I saw that I was brought to the training ground.
A guard was standing in front of me. He had his claws out, ready to slash my neck any moment.
didn’t know where my courage came from, but I was no longer afraid.
I would not die in this dream or because of Elsa.
I would survive this.
I stared straight at him and said with all the strength I could muster. “You are not real.”
And then, I woke up.
I gasped, sitting up so fast that my head spun.
My body was drenched in sweat, my fists balled tightly.
I was back.
