Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 210
Chapter 210: _Someone Powerful.
Dinner ended soon after and everyone said their goodbyes. Sir Alan and the others returned to their various homes while the rest of the family retired to their rooms.
I escorted Phoebe gently to my suite. She was visibly relaxed and I could tell that she was happy.
When we entered, I wasted no time to pull off my clothes for a shower. As the water ran through my body, I thought of everything we had gone through.
The guilt, the betrayal, the sacrifice, the rumors from the men in the pack lands, Phoebe’s breakdown and of course the impending unknown.
I lost track of time of how long I stayed under the water. Desperately wishing the water could wash away my pain and worries as it ran through my body.
After what felt like an eternity, I finally got out of the shower, stepping into the room. I caught sight of Phoebe sprawled in bed, sleeping already.
I smiled as I saw her gentle features, her face as delicate as a flower. Her face showed how peaceful her sleep must be.
She must have been so tired that she couldn’t wait to have her bath before sleeping or maybe I just stayed so long that she couldn’t wait anymore.
At that moment, I silently vowed to give whatever it would take, anything at all, to give her the peace that she truly deserved.
I got in bed and tucked her in next to me, placing her head on my chest. She snuggled closer to me, placing her leg over mine.
We hadn’t slept like that since we came back from the ancient ones’ realm.
I held her tighter, not wanting to let her go for even a second as I shut my eyes.
As the morning sun peeked through the curtains, I opened my eyes feeling very relaxed.
I remembered the warmth of last night’s dinner, Phoebe’s smile and laughter. Since we got back from the ancient ones realm, it had become increasingly rare to see Phoebe smile so genuinely, and for that alone, I was grateful.
Phoebe was not by my side when I woke up. I didn’t hear the shower running so instinctively,
The balcony came to my mind.
I stood up, heading to the balcony. I saw Phoebe’s fragile figure, her hair gently swaying in the morning breeze.
Even from across the room, I could see the tension in her shoulders.
Walking up behind her and holding her waist from behind. “Morning, darling.” I murmured.
She leaned her back into my chest slightly, embracing my touch, but she didn’t turn to face me. “Morning.” She replied softly.
I knew what she was thinking about. The fear of what was coming.
Before I could say anything, we heard a knock at the door. I frowned, can’t a man have peace in his house?
“I’ll be right back.” I said, reluctantly removing my hands from her slim waist.
I walked to the door, annoyed at the person who kept knocking. I pulled it open to find one of the guards standing outside.
“Elder Gita is here and she wishes to speak with you.” He announced, bowing slightly.
I stiffened at the mention of Elder Gita, my somewhat relaxed mood plummeted. I didn’t need to ask why, I knew she brought news of our last visit.
I turned back sharply. I wanted to inform Phoebe of the news, but I was shocked to see her already back in the room.
“I heard him. Let’s go.” Her voice came off as a command and her face was stern.
Without further delay, we got dressed and made our way to my office where I knew Elder Gita was staying.

Elder Gita was inside the room, her back turned to us, waiting. She turned back, giving a slight smile as she saw us.
“You’ve received an answer?” I asked, keeping greetings and formalities aside.
She nodded once, her expression grim. I didn’t need to be told that I won’t like what she would say.
Phoebe wrapped her hands around herself, as if she were cold. “Tell us.” Her voice calm, but I could hear the fear in them.
I reached out, stretching my hand to hold her like I always do.
Elder Gita didn’t sit. Instead, she stood by my table. “I reached out to the Moon Goddess, and she answered.” She began.
I felt Phoebe’s hand tighten around mine, her pulse quickening and my heart raced.
“The rumors are true.” Even her voice shook a little. For once, she was not the always calm Elder Gita I knew.
My breath hitched as I heard the words I’d dreaded. No! I had wished it was a mere rumor and I was merely worrying myself.
Phoebe stiffened beside me, I felt her suddenly go cold.
“So, what does this mean? That our pack will fall?” Her voice barely audible.
“No, It means something worse is coming. But like I said last night, your victory is certain.” Elder Gita replied, her tone filled with pride
My heart raced. If the hunters weren’t the real threat, then what was? Something worse?
I clenched my fists, forcing my voice to stay stable “Tell us everything, I don’t appreciate this suspense.” My tone cold and domineering.
Elder Gita let out a breath. “I don’t know what this danger is. The Moon Goddess only showed me that the rumor is true. I certainly can’t say more than I know.”
Phoebe shook her head, almost at the verge of tears. “Why us? Why this pack?”
Elder Gita’s gaze softened, “Because this pack carries something powerful. To be more clear, this pack carries a powerful person, this person makes our victory certain.”
It took me a while to process her words, the events has taken a different turn. If there was truly a person like that in this pack, then I need to find that person.
The room fell into silence until Phoebe spoke up.
“Who is this person, Elder Gita?” Her tone pleading for a solution.
Elder Gita’s expression didn’t change. “It’s you Luna, you need to find your true self.”
