Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 77
Chapter 77: _Shitty Morning
Just like I suspected, the following days after Kaene found out about my affair with Negan were tough.
Today, in particular, was just the next day after the incident, and I felt like I was about to lose my mind when I woke up in the morning and looked at myself in the mirror.
“It’s already a shitty morning with you in it,” I grumbled, pointing at my reflection in the mirror as if that would make me feel better.
News flash: It didn’t.
Just then, I heard a knock at the door, causing me to jolt in surprise at first until I relaxed, sighing to myself.
“Come in,” I mumbled loud enough for whoever it was to hear me.
The door opened and just like I expected, Brittany walked in with a hesitant look on her face.
After everything that happened, I’d half expected Kaene to strip me of my privileges as Luna, including taking away my personal maid.
I wouldn’t mind since I survived without those anyway.
“G– Good morning, Luna.” She bowed with a shaky tone.
Brittany and Miranda had been assigned to me at the beginning of my stay but eventually, the former was pulled out, leaving only Miranda.
I was never actually a fan of both girls when I was a maid but Miranda’s time as my maid brought her closer to me… Until her unfortunate death.
Moving away from the mirror, I waved at Brittany. “Good morning. You don’t need to do much today, I need space.” I blurted without bothering to spare her a glance, already heading for the bathroom.
Brittany didn’t dare protest my decision but instead bowed. “Very well, Luna. I’ll take my leave but you can always alert me if you need me.”
Hmph… How disappointing.
If it were Miranda, she would protest and argue until I agreed to let her help me or at least until I saw things from her point of view.
She’d been very vocal with me, even if our interactions were weird and awkward sometimes.
Anyway, Brittany left with a bang on the door, leaving me alone in my suite.
I stripped myself of my clothes and walked into the bathroom, my body jolting a bit when my feet met with the chilly floor of the bathroom.
I sat in the bathtub after turning on the hot water and adding some of my favorite scented soaps, closing my eyes and relaxing as I let all the stress pour out.
“I can do this…” I muttered, drawing in deep breaths while trying to dispel the thought of everything that happened.
But alas, it was a daunting task as images of that unfortunate night flashed through my mind.
I bit my lips, seeing flashes of Negan’s naked body as he plunged into me until I was forced to open my eyes, panting heavily.
“Holy moon goddess.” I rubbed my forehead, proceeding to bury my face in my hands.
Was this some kind of sick joke?!
These lewd thoughts of the Beta had left my head for days now but ever since Kaene found out, my mind has been a hectic landscape, showing me images of the dreadfully steamy night on repeat.
Maybe it was just my subconscious mind’s way of showing guilt… Or, maybe I was slowly losing my mind.
Whatever it was, I didn’t like it one bit, especially the way I blushed stupidly while it happened.
Suddenly, I heard a bang at my suite door, forcing me to open my eyes.
I picked up the sound of several footsteps and a few voices that all seemed distinct.

But one stood out like an annoying pimple, causing me to grit my teeth as I got out of the bathtub, quickly using a towel to dry myself before wrapping a fresh one around my body.
I barged into the room and spotted four or five people, a mix of men and women, all wolves, making measurements around my suite and writing down stuff in notebooks.
Was this a dream?
“Hey!” I yelled out, clenching my fists as I did. “What the fuck do you guys think you’re doing here?”
However, they all ignored me, continuing with whatever the heck they were doing.
My eyes twitched as I scanned my gaze around the suite for that familiar annoying voice I’d heard from the bathroom until I spotted a young woman with blonde hair standing on the balcony, making a phone call.
Elsa…
Shoving one of the men who blocked my way away, I waltzed toward her, breathing frantically while trying hard to keep my wolf in check.
When I got to the balcony, she still had her back facing me and was too busy on her call.
“No, he hasn’t given the green light yet.” She chuckled, taking a sip from a glass of wine in her other hand. “But, I mean, it’s obvious where all this is headed. The Alpha can’t possibly continue staying with a cheating Luna, so it’s only a matter of time before he accepts me, and then we can have a human wedding.”
My heart dropped when I heard that.
How shameless could this bitch be?
“I’m currently in his cheating ex’s suite.” She continued with her rant, not even noticing my existence. “Girl, can you imagine all this space was given to a peasant maid who probably lived in a roofless house before getting here? It’s crazy!”
Alright, that tears it!
Before I called her attention, she giggled like a little kid, before speaking again. “Yeah, who gives a fuck about where she sleeps this winter? I’m claiming the suite as mine!”
“Ahem!” I faked a cough, forcing her to swerve her head to me.
Her eyes fluttered as her gaze trailed me from my head to my toes with disdain, after which she spoke into the phone. “I’ll have to call you back, baby girl. The trash brought itself in and it’s… revolting.”
With that, she hung up, keeping her phone in her small purse before giving me a bright smile. “Why, hello, whore. Feeling extra naughty this morning?”
Oh, now she was asking for it.
