Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 83
Chapter 83: _Lord Mathias
I swerved my head quickly to the door when I caught a particularly disgusting Alpha scent.
Shit, not him!
Without hesitation, I bolted to the nearest window and jumped out of it, just in time, too.
“That was close…” I muttered to myself until I realized that I was hanging on the side of the Luna’s room with my dick exposed in the air.
Well, that’ll make for another juicy scandal, won’t it?
I smirked to myself, hastily placing my dick back into my pants before raising my head and peeping into Phoebe’s suite.
Right there stood Kaene who’d stepped into the dark room, his gaze landing on Phoebe.
He seemed a bit… Different.
Even from this distance, I could catch the stench of alcohol coming from him. He’d drank way too much and had now found himself in his cheating mate’s suite.
Well, this should be fun to watch…
Anyway, Kaene walked to Phoebe’s bed after closing the door behind him. For someone who was intoxicated by alcohol, his footsteps were steady, showing his resilience as an Alpha.
When he got to the side of her bed, his back facing me as he gazed down at her face, I tilted my head.
What the fuck was he doing?
I squinted my eyes when he slowly parted her hair aside. She turned in her sleep but didn’t wake up, probably due to the after-effects of my spell.
Suddenly, Kaene picked up a pillow, causing my frown to deepen.
No… He couldn’t be about to do what I thought he wanted to do, right? Geez, was he really THAT hurt?
I tensed up, my jaw clenching as I watched him intently.
I could feel the anxiety oozing out of him, despite his calm facade. He raised the pillow close to his head, just above Phoebe’s face.
“Do it…” I muttered, smirking to myself. “Do it if you have the balls, Kaene.”
For an odd reason, I felt excited watching this unfold.
Phoebe would go down as the first Luna in history to cheat on her mate with his Beta, and then Kaene would go down as the first Alpha to directly kill his mate.
All within my lifetime!
The sadistic side of myself I’d been keeping hidden under my ‘kind Beta’ mask for so long started revealing itself as I watched Kaene’s hands quivering.
But soon, to my disappointment, he buried his face in the pillow instead, dropping it back on the bed.
I knew he’d be too much of a pussy to do it.
I gritted my teeth, watching as Kaene stared at her one last time before walking out of the suite, shutting the door behind him like nothing happened.
So, what I got from that whole thing is that Kaene resented Phoebe so much right now that the thought of killing her crossed his mind.
But he… Cared about her too much to do it?
Sigh, I’ll never understand these sinful werewolves.
The funniest part was that Phoebe didn’t wake up while any of this was happening. She was probably going to wake up this morning, not remembering a thing.

“I wonder what other exciting things happen next as a result of this video clip…” I mumbled to myself, landing perfectly on the ground with a smirk on my face.
.
.
The next day, as expected, Phoebe didn’t seem to remember anything that happened the previous night.
I showed up in her suite through one of the windows, offering her a shawarma, which I’d gotten Rowland to buy.
He found it ridiculous that I would do that, but it never hurts being a bit considerate of the enemy sometimes, right?
Besides, at this point, it was safe to say Phoebe wasn’t the ‘enemy’. At least, not right now.
She was just so refreshingly different from the other werewolves.
Anyway, after bringing up an update on Delta Asher, we got up and tensions rose.
At that moment, when I stared down at her, looking into her eyes, I felt it again.
That annoying feeling was like a surge of electricity that coursed through my body.
But before I could understand what it meant, a knock sounded at the door and I was forced to run out of the suite through the window like some petty thief.
“Hmph… There would come a time when I wouldn’t have to see you by sneaking around, Phoebe.” I said to myself after slipping out of the compound.
However, just when I stared into the sky, my mind drifting away, I felt a presence beside me, causing me to sigh.
“Rowland. How is it? Any updates on our traitorous Delta?” I queried without glancing to see who it was.
But there was no response.
My eyebrows furrowed into a frown as I paused in my tracks, glancing to my right side to see who it was that dared sneak up on me.
“Lord Mathias. Funny seeing you here.” I muttered, my shoulders relaxing a bit.
The man who stood beside me was an elderly man who seemed to be in his sixties or seventies.
But anyone who knew him like I do would know that he was actually centuries old, his exact age unknown.
Anyway, Lord Mathias was dressed in black attire, with a black cape flowing behind him. He held a staff and had a stern look on his face.
“Negan. There’s nothing ‘funny’ about me showing up here today.” He sneered, clutching his staff tightly. “Me and the other Elders of the Brotherhood would like to know why it’s taking you so long to complete your mission.”
Oh… Great. Just what I needed right now, more politics.
I rolled my eyes, shrugging. “It’s taking me some time but it’s all coming to fruition. Recent developments will ensure that the Alpha is taken down by one of his followers. And once that happens, the rest of the plan will begin–”
“I do not need you explaining your tactics to me, Negan. I just want the mission completed soon.” Lord Mathias chimed in before I could finish explaining my glorious plan.
My eyes twitched as I glared at him sternly.
