Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 96
Chapter 96: _See It As A Warning
Negan

Rowland kept insisting that I was getting distracted from the mission because of Phoebe.
That scoundrel!
Never in all my years have I ever let a woman or anyone stop me from completing any of my goals.
Phoebe was merely a pawn I needed to stick around with to bring Kaene down. Nothing more.
It seemed I needed to remind some people just how brutal I could get so I decided to pay a visit to the brotherhood’s main branch outside the city.
Coincidentally, Phoebe also wanted to go out of the estate so I drove her out and dropped her in front of her parent’s house.
Throughout my interactions with her, I subtly kept my distance while trying to gauge her feelings.
I got nothing.
“I have no time for girl drama.” I groaned to myself while driving into the night, setting my mind on my mission for tonight.
People in the Brotherhood were threatening my leadership. And if I were to make any guesses, it definitely had something to do with some of those Elders seeing me ‘unfit’ and feeding that delusion to the younger ones.
I’ll show them.
It was a long drive but I was finally able to reach the forest region where the brotherhood’s headquarters was located.
I stepped down from the car, taking a deep breath before moving forward.
Before me was a thick foliage of woodland, bushes, and trees.
But there was no sign of any ‘headquarters’. Well, at least not to an outsider anyway.
I stretched out my hands, muttering a spell while envisioning a gate.
Suddenly, a portal opened in front of me, causing me to smirk as I stepped through it.
The portal led me to a serene-looking manor with trees, gardens, and even a beautiful water fountain at the side.
Who would believe that this was the headquarters of one of the most powerful supernatural organizations on the planet?
Just then, Mathias stepped out of the manor, his eyes dimmed suspiciously as he scrutinized me.
“Negan? What are you doing here?” He queried warily, clutching his staff.
I smirked, stretching out my arms as if I wanted to hug him. “Surprise, Mattie boy. After your visit earlier today, I decided to drop by here myself and see what all the scuffle is about.”
Mathias didn’t seem pleased, his already wrinkled face looking even older thanks to the deep frown on his face.
“Don’t tell me you’re here to cause any trouble.” He remarked, arching an eyebrow.
I was about to speak just then when some more elders walked out, all wearing black attire like Mathias.
They were all part witch–part werewolf and all centuries old.
“What is he doing here?” One of them, a male, pointed his finger at me.
Another one chimed in. “There have been a lot of reports about you, Negan. The most recent being that you’ve gotten yourself entangled with the Luna of Blue Moon pack.”

Really?
Who was spreading all this misinformation about me?!
I never get ‘entangled’ with anyone.
“Believe me, Lord Eli, I don’t plan on getting myself entangled with anyone anytime soon.” I tried to sound reassuring but alas, these old geezers never liked things the easy way.
“I don’t know why we’re wasting any more time with this brat.” One of the elders hissed, stroking his comically long beard as he did. “We only sent him to Blue Moon because of his connection to the pack and only made him our leader because of your suggestions, Lord Mathias.”
Mathias retained the calm expression on his face but had his jaw clenched as he stared at me.
It seemed he was trying to tell me not to do something.
Oh well, too bad I didn’t know what that was. I already had something in mind.
“We must call for an election among ourselves and elect a new leader. Negan has disrupted and disregarded the stability of this organization, and we–” Lord long beard or whatever his name was about to bore me out with more yapping, but I’d had enough.
I sped to him, catching his old ass off guard and grabbing him by the neck, raising him off the ground.
The other Elders reacted quickly, baring their wolf teeth at me while others prepared spells.
But I turned my gaze to them before they could do anything.
“Ah, ah, ah…” I waved my finger, a sadistic grin appearing on my face. “Make any stupid moves, and I’ll sink my claws into Dumbledork’s neck.”
They all seemed hesitant at first but then reluctantly lowered their hands when I increased the pressure I applied on the old man’s neck.
He squirmed and wheezed, trying hard to catch his breath, but it was no use.
I was stronger and they all knew that.
“What is the meaning of this madness, Negan?” Lord Mathias queried calmly, not seeming as bothered as the rest.
He thought he knew me so well, huh?
“What this means, Mattie boy, is that I’m reminding you all that I am not to be trifled with.” I scanned my gaze past all their faces, making sure each word I uttered was clear. “Yes, the mission with Blue Moon is taking more time. Yes, you old hags are eager to see our dreams of our kind becoming the supreme beings of the planet come into reality…”
I paused, glancing at the old man who I still held suspended in the air.
He had his hands on mine, tapping it gently as if that would convince me to release him.
The rush was exhilarating! The feeling of having someone’s life in my hands has always been the most addictive to me.
I didn’t care if they were human, werewolves, witches, or hybrids. If I see them as dead, rest assured that they will end up dead.
Anyway, I continued after my little pause. “But at the end of the day, I am the leader. Other members of our organization at different packs all over the world are also working to bring our dreams to fruition while you old geezers cause disputes.”
I gazed intently at Mathias, whose eyes glinted with dread for a fleeting moment.
Too bad…
“See this as a warning.” And with that, I brought out the claws in the hand I used in choking the old man, causing blood to spill as I ripped his head clean off his neck.
“No!”
