Rise of the Rejected Luna - Chapter 97
Chapter 97: _Little Side Mission
The night became silent as the old man’s body dropped to the floor, blood spurting out of the stump where his head was supposed to be.
His bloody head rolled to my feet, but I kicked it away, a scowl appearing on my face.
“That takes care of that.” I sighed, turning my gaze to the other elders who all jolted with fear.
I tilted my head, a wide smirk curling up my lips. “Is anyone else against my leadership?”
They all either shook their heads or remained silent, staring at me like they wanted me dead.
The truth was, they probably all did.
They probably saw the old man’s death as unnecessary, but it was necessary.
While holding his neck, I’d used my magic to read his emotions. I read the disdain, the irritation… Everything that pointed him out as the one telling the others to be against me.
The last thing this organization needed right now was dead members but that was still better than members who couldn’t fucking work together.
“Anyway, I have to head out now.” I pointed at the gate of the manor, smiling gingerly like I didn’t just kill someone. “You know the drill. Places to be, werewolves to manipulate and kill.”
They all gawked at me, but none of them dared say anything.
Not even Lord Mathias.
Seeing this, my smirk only widened as I blew all of them a kiss before stretching out my hands and casting the spell again, causing a portal that led out of the manor to appear in front of me.
That gate at the front was just for fancy.
The manor was hidden by a powerful cloaking spell, and the only way to access it was through a portal opened with magic.
But a witch or any magic user would have to know where to look before doing something like that.
Anyway, I got out of the manor and into the forest, walking straight to my car.
I glanced up at the moon which hung in the sky with a half phase.
“Watch me ruin everything your corrupt children have built,” I muttered, hoping that the moon goddess was watching.
I was going to give her a show soon enough.
.
.
The next morning, I sat in my private residence, bored beyond my wits.
I’d hit a stumbling block in my mission and didn’t want to admit it.
The next step would be getting rid of Kaene but I was leaving that to the Delta and Mr. Thatcher.
What was taking those bloody idiots so long?
“Good morning, master Negan.” Rowland suddenly spoke up as he approached me where I sat at the built-in bar in my house.
I glanced at him, rolling my eyes. “What is it?” I asked bluntly.
But he chuckled, shoving me playfully on my shoulder. “Yo, chill out, Negan. You came in last night looking all bloody and then didn’t even say anything. I decided to leave you but you have to tell me what happened.” He said with a pleading voice.
I smirked, taking a sip from the drink in my hand. “Let’s just say the Elders don’t have a problem with my leadership anymore.”

Rowland seemed surprised but then a smirk soon appeared on his face. “Did you get rid of all of them?”
What? That would be outrageous, even for me.
“No, just one who was being a nuisance. He was the one spreading news of me being an incompetent leader.” I scoffed when I remembered the emotions I felt from the idiot.
Hmph… I should’ve fried his brain from the inside out before snapping off his head.
“Well, may his soul burn in hell,” Rowland commented, grabbing the bottle of the drink and pouring himself a glass. “Oh, that reminds me. The Alpha was getting restless when he found out that Phoebe snuck out.”
I paused my drinking, subconsciously clenching my drink.
Kaene…
“Well… What did he do about it?” I queried, pretending like I was unbothered.
However, Rowland was the definition of unbothered, his expression showing boredom. “Ugh, nothing fun, unfortunately. Ever since he found out about the affair, he’s been letting his mother baby him around, without his knowing. It’s been pathetic to watch.”
Pfft… He’s telling me.
Anyone who killed Kaene right now had an easy shot. The affair had left him completely distracted.
“What I find most amusing about all this though, is the fact that someone out there spread information about the affair to the entire pack.” Rowland sniggered, playing around with his drink. “Now, wherever Phoebe goes, she’ll be marked as the cheating Luna.”
Hmm… Yes, there was also that.
Someone else other than Catherine, Elsa, and myself was trying to make life difficult for Phoebe.
But who could that be?
Wait a minute, this could be it! The next step in my mission.
Call it a side mission, if you wish.
“I think I know the next step to carry while watching Kaene’s eventual assassination,” I muttered, getting up.
Rowland seemed confused, arching an eyebrow before he asked. “Where are you going now?”
But I waved my hand dismissively. “Going to test something out. Don’t bother yourself, just update me about any new information you get.”
With that, I stepped out of the house and headed for the Alpha’s mansion. If my suspicions were right, then someone in the mansion was responsible for leaking the information.
It would be awkward going in there, especially after the video leak and the way my dear pal Kaene had punched me in the face in the presence of all those nobles.
When I stepped into the compound, the morning sun shining brightly above me, I got a few weird and judgmental stares from some guards.
I smirked at them, even though I was withholding the urge to snap their necks.
Anyway, I got to a spot in the mansion gardens and brought out my phone when I noticed some maids loitering around.
“Yes, hello,” I called out to the phone even though I didn’t dial any number. “It’s been hilarious. I am honestly so grateful for whoever leaked out information about the affair.”
I glanced at the maids, scrutinizing their expressions. Some seemed shocked while others seemed disgusted, murmuring among themselves or walking away.
Maybe I needed to add some spice.
“You can’t imagine what I went through that night. Phoebe just threw herself at me and I was helpless. I had no control.” I made it sound like a sob story, rubbing my forehead for better effect.
Yet, there didn’t seem to be any promising reaction from the maids.
Time for the big guns.
“I’m in the Alpha’s mansion now to explain everything but whoever leaked that information has my heart. I’ll be willing to do anything for them because now everyone knows how deceptive the Luna–”
Before I could finish, a shy voice spoke behind me. “Uh, Beta Negan?”
Oh, la, la. Got ya!
