Chapter 106: Eager Anticipation
Despite having being a few hours after the Star Awards Ceremony had aired, Kyle’s fan group, were pretty much still pissed about how their favorite artist was snubbed.

To them, it was pure bullshit and really, it made them question if there was any point to an award show if they weren’t going to be transparent.

Peter_Writes_Fantasy: I’ve been saying it for years now. Award shows, are literally just, over-glorified popularity contests. Utter waste of useful time and resources.

Kyle’s Girlfriend: Just when I thought 2019 couldn’t surprise me anymore… Damn. What a sour way to start off December.

Trix Or Treat: @Kyle’s Girlfriend; Quite literally. I’ve been salty all night. Switched off the television the moment I saw the nominated contestants for each respective brackets and Kyle wasn’t in any. Zero transparency with these people honestly!

WaifuWithARocketLauncher: So, we are all, FINALLY, on the same page to cancel the Star Awards. Good. Now I can safely nuke their headquarters with no regrets.

Mamma Mia: Honestly, you don’t even need to be a fan of Kyle’s music to realize how badly he was snubbed! Like seriously, not even a single nomination, much less an invite?!

ShrekLovesFiona: Although we all know [Strange Canvas] deserved that award but still, if the Star Awards were at least going to do right by newer artists that were nominated in that bracket, there were far better songs than [Sensual] that deserved to win it.

N0c: I swear to God these award shows need to have their license revoked. If the Star Awards are already this corrupt, I wonder how next year’s SCAMMY’s are going to pan out.

WeDoABitOfTrolling: Must be some super weird grudge or some shit for them to completely boycott our boy. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Kyle decides to similarly boycott their ass next year. Absurd stuff honestly.

As more and more messages kept pouring into the fan group over the lack of transparency in the award ceremony, another netizen, casually dropped a comment;

The Impostor: Kyle just dropped a teaser for his new song, [Paradox]. Check it out.

Instantly, the group went deathly silent, everyone, rushing over to Kyle’s main page.

In fact, they didn’t need to verify the authenticity of those words from The Impostor.

Considering how he was always the first to find out about anything pertaining to Kyle and it wasn’t also the first time he was doing something of such, they completely trusted his message.

And so, upon listening to the teaser of the song, just a ten-second snippet to be exact, literally all of Kyle’s fan club knew;

Kyle was completely unperturbed by the Star Awards controversy!

Rather, their boy was cooking!

No sooner had the teaser for [Paradox] being revealed, with the release date being on the 1st of January, 2020, Kyle’s fans, along with people who were quite hooked by the hypnotic tune of the song’s teaser, began to wait in eager anticipation for it.

So far, so good, Kyle Kestis had been releasing bangers after bangers so, it was a given that people were favorably looking forward to it!

Sure they were still in the first week of December but still, hype was gradually building up for the song, enough that people even went as far as digging out snippets from the performance at the bar the music video was shot at.

Considering most of the regulars at the bar had mostly just being hooked by the song, there were very few among them who got their smartphones out in time to record the performance.

As a result, only snippets of blurry and uncompleted videos could be found here and there, scattered all over the internet.

Added to all that though, a lot of the general public, most of whom were interested in everything that took place in Hollywood, saw the release of Kyle’s new song as a sort of statement for the young star.

One where they were curious to see how successful the song would turn out to be, even despite the award shows, indirectly claiming that there were musicians better than Kyle who deserved an award with their music.

Considering it would be a big blow to their credibility, one that would literally rub it in their face that despite all the odds, he was still going to be successful, many, many individuals, looked forward to how it would all unfold.

At this point, they were practically itching and looking for every blessed reason to lambast the award show even more.

Sure there had been a lot of questionable controversies in the past with the Star Awards but this year’s, really took the cake.

Asides from Kyle being snubbed, Lily, Steven, Katie, Ryan and Joe, among many other, much more deserving artists, lost the awards to less competent musicians.

Although Lily, just like Kyle, was completely snubbed at the award show with not a single nomination, the rest however, were nominated in various brackets, only for them end up also losing out to other artists.

Really, the internet was simply waiting, biding their time to find a proper avenue to bash, flame and cancel the Star Awards ceremony to oblivion.

But, for that to happen, Kyle’s song, needed to be very successful.

Yet, despite all this, Kyle himself, had literally no idea that something of sort was brewing in the background.

The young man, was simply just glad, that he had completed his newest song.

Kyle was happily humming the tune of his new song as he awaited his order, his fingers, gently drumming on the table with a subtle hint of composure in his mannerisms.

There was a certain joy for him, that came with conceptualizing an idea and then, following it through till the end to create something even far better than he had anticipated.

As a result, the young man, couldn’t help but pull up the appraisal window for his latest song again;

“Now that’s what I call a stupid grin. You’ve been practically like this, all morning.” Lily gently elbowed him with a chuckle, although she had an inkling as to what the cause was.

In response, Kyle simply glanced over to her, had the same stupid grin on his face and kept humming, causing Lily to lightly shake her in amusement.

Christina whom was sitting on his other side though and also knew the reason for his happy mood, soon peeked her head out, a piece of paper in her hands with the written words;

-He’s been like that since last month. Perhaps, he received his Christmas gifts early???

To that, Lily let out a hearty laughter, one that drew a bunch of individual’s attention to her in the bar.

Even despite the chilly weather and the falling snow, winter and Christmas preparations already in season again, the lady’s upbeat spirits seemed to embody, springtime.

As this was happening though, with Christina also chuckling, Kyle who was watching them, smiled in amusement and then, simply pulled up his status window a few seconds after;

Having composed [Paradox] and elevating it to a proficiency of 98%, Kyle had been bombarded with a crap ton of notifications that day.

First were the 5000 exp. points he was awarded, which was then followed by a level increase in his singing, composing and piano instrumental mastery.

Added to that, [Resonance] had increased by a grade from {C} to {B}.

‘I’m so grateful.’ Kyle thought to himself, simply glad to be making progress.

As for his points which had constantly being piling up, he had one particular skill in mind he wanted to create.

However, he was also certain it would take all of his points without mercy.

As a result, he simply allowed for his points to keep piling up, hoping that when he did create the skill, he’d have enough exp. points left to test the efficiency of said skill.

That said, this current stage of his, was very commendable to him.

Closing the panel though, Kyle’s eyes soon locked onto his other friends, all four of them, coming through the door of the restaurant.

The moment the ladies around him also noticed, they waved over and soon, everyone, with the inclusion of Steven and Joe this time, exchanged pleasantries.

Just like last year, they were having another small get-together.

Sure they were all still busy with their respective careers but, considering December was a rare time in which they were somewhat afforded a bit of free time, they ended up banding together again.

“Perfect. This is absolutely, perfect.” Kyle soon stated, his eyes mischievously glinting as he locked onto Steven’s.

The Swedish man on the other hand, soon felt the gazes of almost every other person around the table, focusing purely on him, especially Ryan’s and Joe’s who had a similar glint.

Frowning slightly, wondering what they were up to, a wave of realization soon hit Steven, causing him to audibly mutter in acceptance;

“Well, shit.”

Last year, after they had gotten eliminated from Rising Voices, he had promised; “We should hangout again if we ever we get the chance. Tabs on me.”

The boys, definitely didn’t forget.

They were going to hold him to that promise!

The ladies on the other hand, simply burst into laughter, Lily and Katie especially, finding the situation, way more amusing than Christina who simply chuckled after Kyle explained the cause of their actions and the ladies’ laughter to her.
