Rise To Stardom - Chapter 128
Chapter 128: Fury of The Curator
Gradually, two more weeks had passed by on set.
During that time, two more episodes, the 7th and 8th, had been shot.
The 7th episode, involved a situation whereby the planet The Curator and Kiera went to visit, had a certain envying, parasitic god, slowly devouring the peoples’ thoughts and memories to satiate his boredom.
How had the Curator resolved the issue?
He simply allowed this ‘god’ to devour his own memories instead.
Of course, this had backfired considerably for said god because, even he, couldn’t contain all the memories it had stolen from The Curator, leading it to overload and explode to oblivion, thereby, rightfully returning, both The Curator’s memories and those of others it had stolen.
As for the 8th episode, The Curator, alone, an in an effort to keep Kiera out of harm’s way, had gone to deal with a certain war that was getting out of hand.
This war, which was actually waged by the Immortals (a race of aliens who never got along with The Curator because he never liked their barbaric way of trying to evade death to achieve immortality), whom had allied with the Kalis, resulted in the Saurons being pushed into a tight spot and driven to a corner.
Due to this situation, the usually peaceful race whom had been pushed so far to the edge that they had considered, extracting the biological energy out of Earth in an effort to fight back against their adversaries, was eventually resolved by the same Curator who had scared them off.
How did he do it?
The Curator, basically, took a vortex bomb he had been creating in his spare time, enough to destroy an entire city block, to Immorra, the home planet of the Immortals.
After doing this, he had then paraded around their palace grounds with a megaphone from earth, jokingly informing all and sundry that he had left an explosive gift on their grounds.
He had also told them, in the most harmless way possible, that if they didn’t find the gift an hour, it would come greet them itself.
But for the Emperor who news of this quickly reached, he knew for a certain, that The Curator, wasn’t the type to joke around when he had his eyes on them.
Wars after all, were basically just people in the higher hierarchy, employing foot soldiers to fight for a stupid cause of theirs.
The Curator, perfectly understood that.
This was why, he had gone provoking the main culprit on purpose.
Because, when faced with adversities beyond their controls that would directly affect them, these same leaders, wouldn’t hesitate to call off their stupid wars to protect themselves.
As a result, in quickly response to The Curator’s ‘joke’, The Emperor of Imorra deployed battalions of his people to locate the source of the vortex bomb on said palace grounds but, even after 59 minutes, they were unable to find it.
This was bad news for their Emperor, especially because he had no other choice but to discard a certain agreement of his to meet with the demands of The Curator.
Scared witless, especially because they also knew that no good would come out of harming the mad man to get their way due to the many lessons he had taught them over the years, they had no other choice but to succumb to his ‘joke’ and call off the war against the Saurons.
Later, it was then revealed, that the Vortex Bomb, was in a small compartment in the handle of the megaphone The Curator had been using to speak all along.
Hiding in plain sight, The Curator had practically threatened a whole Emperor of a planet by also making him feel stupid.
Once again, The Time Traveller had stopped another pointless war.
Unfortunately, unknown to The Curator, the actual reason why The Emperor was unwilling to simply call off the war earlier even though he was wary of The Curator, was revealed at the end of the episode.
A certain agreement was made by him with The Kalis, to stall The Time Traveller for a while.
They, whom had predicted The Curator’s eventual arrival on Immora from the very beginning of his new metamorphosis, had simply been biding their time to find a way to make The Curator succumb to their plan to invade the earth again.
The war itself, from the very first episode, along with all the other shenanigans they had pulling throughout his iteration, had been a total diversion.
An elaborate, big plan to say the least.
What the Kalis were actually after, was to kidnap a defenseless companion of his at some point or the other when he was away from them…

A plan they succeeded at.
Added to that, they had now summoned an entire battle station of ships to invade earth, believing that they could suppress The Curator with their hostage.
Now on the third week of May, the last episode of the tenth season of The Curator, was about to be shot.

Walking into The Index after sorting out the war, The Curator, glanced about the entirety of his library, watching as scattered splinters of wood, burnt books and blood, stained the floor.
No one needed to tell him what had happened here.
That much was pretty obvious…
There was a violent fight between two parties; The Horologium and Kiera being the victims.
Facing The Horologium, watching as she had been severely injured, her shattered hourglass-shaped pane housing none of its usual holographic pendulums which had stopped functioning, The Curator, simply stared.
As he simply gazed about for a few more seconds, a certain transmission, soon came in through a holographic projection.
In the projection, were multiple, cybernetic-looking ovoid-shaped tin cans with rectangular bolts all over their bodice, flexible and retractable, bladed mechanical arms, fitted with five sharp claws at its ending.
Held hostage amidst them, was a knocked out Kiera, drops of blood, trailing down one side of her face as it leaked from an injury on her forehead.
“We have your associate.” the Kali General whom had led their battalion to kidnap Kiera, spoke to The Curator, its almost otherworldly-like, high-pitched, reedy, robotic voice, unnerving.
“You will not intervene.” it continued as The Curator stared at them, dead in the eye through the projection, the expression on his face unreadable.
“Intervene in our plans to take over the earth and she will be exterminated.” the General concluded, its tone almost authoritative.
Yet, even after it had concluded its speech, The Curator, simply stared at them with an unreadable expression.
Casually removing his long coat, placing it on one of the destroyed shelves, The Curator, finally spoke, his tone emotionless;
“You can still stop now. While I’m still, The Curator.”
No sooner had he replied, the Kalis, were visibly disturbed by his words, one that was immediately evident through their asynchronous bodice turns.
“Explain yourself.” the Kali General, unable to understand what The Curator meant, asked in confusion.
“No.” The Curator replied, his tone revealing a level of apathy and hatred that rivalled even theirs.
“Obey or she will be exterminated.” The Kali, pointed his bladed, retractable clawed arms, towards a knocked-out Kiera’s neck.
“I said No.” he defiantly stated again with a festering tone of hostility.
“What is the meaning of this negative?” The Kali, unable to understand how The Curator could care so less for someone he was travelling with for a while now, asked in confusion.
“It means No.” The Curator, once again repeated his decision, after which he then said maliciously;
“Now listen closely and relay my words, word for word to your Emperor.”
“Tell him I’m coming, the long way around.”
“Tell him, that he just crossed a line he never should have.”
“And make sure to let him know, that I, and not The Curator, is coming for him.”
“Because trust me, I’m going to wipe every last one of you, out of the bloody exosphere!”
“But you have no chances of winning against our troops of millions. Even your time machine is destroyed.” The Kali, responded to his words, a hint of fear, slightly noticeable in its reedy, unnerving voice.
“Yeah. Yet, doesn’t that just scare you to death.” a furious hybrid, grinned maniacally at the Kalis and instantly, phase shifted out of existence.
“Cut, Print. Check The Gate.”
–
Even though the Kalis were all apathetic cyber-robots, there was an inherent, deep-rooted hatred, resentment, and most of all, genuine fear they had for The Curator.
He was after all, the one whom had indirectly brought about their creation by saving their creator on one of his many journeys and travels.
Said creator, now the Kali’s Emperor, who was just a young alien back then, wanted to create something in the image of The Curator by using his DNA, something he had acquired without The Hybrid’s consent.
But, in the course of actually creating something in The Curator’s image, he had fatally messed up their genetic coding and literally, added up all of The Curator’s worst traits into the sequencing, thereby leading to the creation of The Kalis.
Yet, even then, he had wished for The Curator to acknowledge his creation like the way he held him in such high regard.
But, when The Curator met the Kalis, he had completely rejected their entire existence, because they were inherently diabolical in nature, especially since he realized he couldn’t reverse engineer the genetic coding.
They were literally him, but completely evil and heartless.
And that, exactly, was why The Curator, hated the Kalis with every fibre of being in his body.
At the same time, it was also why the Kalis, were terrified of the things he was capable of once he became furious.

“Time goes by so fast, doesn’t it?” Jasmine said to Kyle who was gazing at the busy hall before him with a genuine expression of appreciation.
Tiana, as at the moment, was checking the cameras for a scene Jasmine, along with some other extras who were playing the footmen and general of the Kalis, had filmed a few minutes back.
It was also the previous scene where both Kiera and The Horologium, did their best to repel the Kalis, but to no avail.
“Yeah. It does…” the young man soon replied to the lady, realizing that he was going to miss being here.
So many scenes from the show, both from the older and the current season, was shot here.
But for him, who was a literal fan boy of the show, it held so much more importance.
It was a place, he had never known about, much less ever felt that he’d even get to see.
Yet, right now, before his very eyes, it was a place he had seen so much of and still hadn’t gotten tired of.
Added to that, it was his very first time, being the main lead…
In a show that he had grown up watching, and as the titular time traveler no less.
As a result, the fact that he’d be leaving by the end of the week, still left him feeling bittersweet.
But, Kyle also knew, that it was necessary for him to keep moving forward as an actor.
As much as he never really gave the business side of things much thought, Kyle kept it in mind, that him playing The 10th Curator, whether it came out to okay or great acclaim from fans, would grant him a nice cred as a dynamic actor, capable of playing various roles to Directors, Producers, Film Studios and the likes.
That, evidently, would open up more opportunities to him as he’d be able to have a variety of roles to pick from as an actor and not just a multitude of offers to play another Alex Hunt clone.
That said, as at the moment, a certain, amusing thought, ran through his head as he spoke;
“It’s quite interesting though, isn’t it?”
“What is?” Jasmine curiously questioned, waving over to a friend of hers who had just walked in a few minutes ago.
“Well, you play your role as The Curator for a season and it’s over. But then, some other individual just loots it from you and bang! My companion’s now their companion.” he angled his gaze in a certain direction with a light grin.
“Oooh~. Is that jealousy I spot?” Jasmine shoulder bumped Kyle with a sly smile.
“You wish.” Kyle snorted in retaliation, one that only served to make Jasmine, smile even wider.
“Alright everyone. Quiet on set.” Tiana, having checked the shot and ensured it came out great, clapped her hands once and said.
Hearing that, everyone figured the next scene would be shot in about five minutes as this was how Tiana usually operated.
And they were right because, exactly five minutes after, Kyle was already in character as Tiana commanded;
Start.
