Rise To Stardom - Chapter 132
Chapter 132: Wedding Bells
The trailer for the 10th season of The Curator, even after over 5M views now in about one hour and thirty minutes, only had 127 dislikes.
127 dislikes!
That was practically baseless when compared to its current, 1.39 million likes!
That meant, that roughly 25 to 27% of the people who watched the trailer, loved it!
And in an even more realistic sense, possibly about 85 to 90% of the people whom had watched the trailer, would have loved it also because, for the most part, more than 90% of the people who watched videos on ViewTube, usually never liked the videos they watched.
It wasn’t because they couldn’t or didn’t want to but, it was more because it wasn’t really a feature people really actively engaged with… for the most part.
But the main reason, was because of passive consumption.
There were many more videos to watch and a deeper rabbit hole to go down into so, why waste precious seconds, liking or disliking a video when they could already be watching the next one that interested them.
But, the fact that the trailer, was good enough to retain 25-27% of the audience’s interest, enough for them to like the video, a few seconds after the video itself had ended, spoke volumes about how good and entertaining the trailer itself was!
As for the people who disliked the video… or even people who disliked ViewTube videos in general, it was either because, they actually, for some reason or the other, genuinely disliked the video.
But, for the most part, most people who disliked ViewTube videos, either do it for the fun of it, to annoy certain ViewTubers, or to drive home an agenda, be it a good or a twisted one.
And so, due to that exact reasoning, even the first comment underneath the trailer, said it all;
–
The 78th Curator: Before man and God, if for some stupid ass reason, you disliked this trailer, you seriously need to be doused in holy water because good lord! That was the best trailer from any piece of media I’ve laid my eyes upon in years! Also, first episode is this weekend?! Sign me freakin’ up!
Princess Peach: What do you mean ‘Spoilers’, K.K?!! Don’t you be gatekeeping the rest of your audition from us darn it! Let me in! Let, me, fucking in!!!
Boy_By_The_Table: My day is made, and my joy, immeasurable. Um… I may also have to apologize in advance because… that elderly expression that Kyle delivered, still hasn’t left my head.
The 100th Curator: Quentin is back baby! Only he could make [The Curator], rejuvenate and sprout back to life after all these years! As a fan, I haven’t been this excited in years! Also, I love this trailer! Very innovative stuff. Far different from the samey shit Hollywood keeps shoving down our throats in recent memory.
Sigma Papa: This is [The Curator] I grew up with people. A show, that respected and adored its fans, enough to get them excited for every new season. That said, I really don’t know much about Kyle Kestis as an actor but, with what I’ve seen from the trailer, I have, very high hopes.
WeDoABitOfTrolling: Smell that people? Smell, that refreshing air? That refreshing air of a change in perception? Yeah, that’s the smell of success! Go K.K!
Adam With An A: Heavens I loved this trailer! I wish every trailer was like this, period! No fancy ass explosions, no big plot reveals. Just, a trailer, that did what it was meant to do. Pique my darn interest again after all these years!
Kali_Vanquisher: Dear, Hollywood! Please, take notes. This, is how you make your audience excited to watch something without spending a shit ton of dollars! Just by trusting your actors, you can make something, infinitely more exciting with a fraction of that money! Peak trailer!!!
Peter_Writes_Fantasy: I like, how even though we now realize we’re going to know The Curator’s actual name after all these years, we actually don’t know how it’ll happen! And that’s exactly, how a trailer is supposed to be. Give us just enough information to be excited about something without actually ruining the mystery behind it. Also, Kyle’s a perfect casting for The 10th Curator! Yeah. I said it. Bite me!
DumblingDore: Can we just take a few moments to admire and appreciate both Kyle and Jamsine’s acting?! He alone, already had us hooked in the first half of the trailer but, the second half, made things so much more interesting!
WaifuWithARocketLauncher: I have been a big sci-fi fan and an even bigger fan girl of K.K, ever since his time on [Grow Up]. Now, just as I’d hoped for, this season looks to be a good one. I am so hyped! Even my rocket launcher’s excited!!!
Annie Are You Okay?: Apologies in advance for my upcoming bad decision, Mum. I’m going to shut myself in my room come weekend to watch and rewatch the first episode of the new season of [The Curator], instead of prepping for my in-course assessment. Sincerely, your stupid daughter. Thank you.
Queen_Galactica: Against all odds, this trailer, came out to an overwhelmingly positive reception. But then again, a trailer is just a trailer. The actual episodes, are what will determine if the season will be good or not. That said, if DreamLand Inc., think they did a good job of getting me genuinely excited for [The Curator] in years, then I have to say… they succeeded.

Being the top comments amongst over 5K comments, more and more people, couldn’t help but agree with said comments, all of which drove home certain points.
First was the perception of the fans of the show, most of whom had previously been apprehended about Kyle’s casting, slowly realizing that they may have spoken, way too soon.
Secondly, was the fact that the 10th season was now something that everyone was genuinely excited for and looking forward to.

Lastly, although not perceptible to most people, was the fact that Kyle himself, hadn’t been the focus of the trailer.
Proving he was a fantastic choice for The Titular Time Traveler, wasn’t the actual goal here.
Rather, the main goal, which the trailer had effortlessly done in spades, was to invoke excitement and curiosity in fans and the general audience alike!
That was why, for Kyle and Jasmine at the moment, along with Tiana, they finally, felt like all the hard work that had been put into making the trailer vastly different from the typical yet still very exciting was completely worth it.
As for Oliver, Christina and Lily, all of whom had come to watch the trailer together at the young man’s house, they were currently cheering them on with words of praise.
A few minutes later though, all of them began chatting about frankly, very mundane things, the drinks and snacks they had brought, along with Kyle’s crème brûlée, keeping their mouths busy as they conversed.
At some point though, Tiana, indirectly, did garner everyone’s attention as she began sharing her stories about a few interesting things that had ever happened on set while she was filming as a Director over the years to Oliver.
Her pupils were also dilated as she conversed with the agent and her expression was soft and warm.
As for Kyle and the others though, a certain thought, soon began to wriggle into their minds as they watched Oliver, also actively engage with her, a similar expression on his visage.
…
…
…
Even though everyone had helped out a bunch before they left, Kyle still found something to sweep off the floor.
Ensuring that everything was spick and span, the young man, after returning the broom, watched as Oliver walked back in after seeing Tiana off.
Gazing at his agent with a bit of mischievous expression, Oliver soon crossed his arms over his chest with an expression of resignation.
“What?” he sighed and asked his ward.
“What do you mean ‘What?’.” Kyle on the other hand, maintained a casual expression on his features, not willing to come clean.
“Don’t play games with me Kyle. I can see it in your eyes. That glimmer of mischievous amusement.” Oliver on the other hand, countered, both he and his ward, staring at each other dead in the eye as he asked again;
“So, out with it Mister. What?”
“Oh. I don’t know. Maybe, someone, has a thing for another someone?” Kyle also countered with a question of his own as Oliver, let out another sigh.
“So, when’s the wedding?” his ward asked almost instantaneously with the most amused expression.
“You can hire me you know. I’d be a great singer! I’ll even bring wedding bells! Add more flair to the ambience…” Kyle continued messing with his agent who simply, let out a small laughter in response.
Taking his seat on the couch, Oliver was almost about to respond to Kyle’s words properly when his doorbell rang.
Glancing over to his agent briefly, seemingly asking with his eyes if they had ordered anything, Oliver shook his head in denial.
Having confirmed that, Kyle quickly moved towards the door while responding;
“Coming!”
Opening the door, the young man was a bit surprised to see a mail man, delivering a letter to him directly, especially when considering he had a mail box.
“Thank you.” he politely thanked the mail man who simply nodded with a thin smile and went back into his van.
“A letter?” Oliver, sharing the exact same curiosity as Kyle, questioned as his ward sat beside him.
“Yeah. Must be quite important if they had it delivered directly to me…” Kyle replied, casually opening the sealed envelope with a curious expression.
And no sooner had he seen the contents of the letter in the envelope itself, two invites present in it, both he and Oliver, glanced over to each other with a genuine expression of shock and happiness!
