Rise To Stardom - Chapter 144
Chapter 144: Future Investment
Sitting from across each other in a small, secluded yet obviously lavish restaurant for the wealthy, was Oliver and Griffin, their black suits pristine as it stuck to their bodies like second skin.
Having discussed all the necessary details regarding all the legalities for the ownership of SpawnPoint Studio, both, currently had their poker faces on.
There was also the waft of smell and vapor from their steamed coffees, setting a casual atmosphere between them even though they meant business.
“Five million dollars.” Griffin bluntly stated his price, hands interlocked as he rested his elbows on the sleek yet stylish restaurant table.
“Deal.” Oliver too, bluntly replied, expression unperturbed as Griffin, instantly countered;
“I’m sorry but I won’t take anything less. Five million dolla-… Wait what?!” Griffin’s expression faltered in an instant once Oliver’s words fully registered.
“Five million dollars, right? It’s a deal.” Oliver affirmed, picking up his mug of coffee as he did.
On an average day, Oliver, already having a good feel for the kind of businessman he was dealing with, would’ve instantly negotiated to have that price cut down by half.
However, hearing the urgency in his ward’s voice to still go ahead and buy out the studio irrespective of the price, all while also ensuring that none of its employees lost their jobs no matter what, Oliver felt the need to be more accepting as of the moment.
“So, where are the documents?” the agent soon added without batting an eye as he took a sip of his coffee.
Blinking his eyes a few times, still trying to register if the words of the suave man from across him wasn’t some sort of mind game or he himself hallucinating, the business investor soon recovered.
“Ah… yes… Here it is.” Griffin donned an affiliative smile whilst retrieving his briefcase from under the table.
Truth be told, roughly 2.8 million dollars was the actual worth of SpawnPoint Studio as a whole.
However, Griffin, being the greedy businessman that he was, one whom was willing to throw an old friend under the bus, simply for the sake of his own profits, wanted to more profits even still.
Considering the previous company he had wanted to sell the studio to, had only offered three million dollars tops to buy it off his hands, Griffin wanted to see if he could push his luck and get a juicier deal from the suavely dressed man before him whom, from what he had gleaned in their conversations so far, seemed to be filthy rich.
As a result, he had tested the waters to see if Oliver really was as rich as he had predicted.
Turns out, he seemed to have been right on the money!
Bringing out all the necessary documents that required signing, Griffin gently pushed it towards Oliver who took another sip from his coffee, eyes casually glazing over the multitude of papers.
Yet, before Griffin could even ask of Oliver to sign them and close the deal, someone, burst through the doors of the restaurant!
Dressed in a hoodie and plain blue jeans, the individual, had a face mask on and rectangular-framed glasses, framing his sapphire irises.
Glancing about the restaurant, even as the few people currently seated inside wondered who the hell the weirdo destroying their ambience was, the hooded figure’s eyes, soon landed on Oliver and Griffin’s table.
Briskly, he walked over, taking a seat right next to his suavely dressed agent.
“And who’re are you supposed to be?” Griffin frowned in annoyance, ready to call the cops on their intruder.
However, hearing Oliver’s next words, Griffin instantly wished he had retracted his statement.
“Took you long enough. Was wondering if I was going to end up signing the documents myself.” the agent, casually commented with a light, warm smile.
“Apologies. Was held back by traffic, unfortunately.” Kyle responded with a small sigh, taking off his mask and hoodie to reveal his attractive features.
“That bad?” Oliver curiously questioned, simultaneously also gesturing to the young man’s face mask with a slight tilt of his head.
“Yep. Some vehicles even got into a minor accident.” Kyle replied, continuing on to then explain why he had dressed up like a drug dealer;
“Well, let’s just say I didn’t want anyone to stop me for autographs and pictures on my way here since I was in quite a hurry…” Kyle lightly smiled, a glimmer of excitement in his eyes as he ran his hand through his hair.
Oliver on the other hand, simply nodded in understanding, taking another sip of his coffee as he watched Kyle’s attention, shift to Griffin’s.

“Glad I got here just in time.” the young man then offered a respectful smile and a handshake towards the man whom was still shocked yet wary to see Kyle Kestis seating before him.
Quickly shaking off his shock and wariness though, realizing that Kyle didn’t take offence from his earlier comment, the business investor, received the handshake firmly, donning a polite, business smile as he responded;
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Kestis.”
“The pleasure’s all mine, Mr. Colt.” Kyle reciprocated with a curt smile of his own.
Oliver, just before he had met up with Griffin, had more or less given Kyle a few details regarding the CEO of the company… not that Kyle himself hadn’t keeping close tabs on the SpawnPoint Studio itself.
That was how, even as Griffin arched a curious eyebrow as to how Kyle knew him, the popular celebrity himself, paid no mind to it.
No sooner had they exchanged greetings though, the focus shifted to the documents that Kyle needed to sign, the young man, taking his sweet time to read through every single document.
About an hour later, after everything was sorted out, Kyle, was now the new CEO of SpawnPoint Studio.
Rounding up the meeting on another firm handshake, Griffin, watching as the duo left the restaurant a few minutes later, had a condescending expression grace his face, a small laugh of mockery, escaping his lips.
“Celebrities. Probably some of the easiest to dupe in the business…” he equally commented, his tone arrogant as he finally, took a sip of his own coffee.
“Doesn’t matter though… now I can buy shares from GameSoft’s Studio’s stocks…” he muttered to himself with a thin smile, already picturing himself swimming in more and more money.
Apparently, GameSoft’s Studio, one of the biggest Videogame Studio-Publishers in the world right now, had been working on a massive, AAA, open world video game that was set to be the next big thing!
Added to that, live service elements were going to be incorporated into the core gameplay loop of the game and from what select insiders had heard, it seemed as if the Studio was certain the game was going to rake in a shit ton of cash.
A forever game, they were even terming it.
Now although Griffin, solely as a businessman, didn’t give a shit about all the technicalities of the supposed videogame, and quite frankly, neither did he really care, he more than anyone, knew that GameSoft’s Studios stocks would start rising very soon!
That was more than enough reason for him to invest heavily into the highly reputable company.
As for Kyle and Oliver, both were currently conversing as they made their way over to their respective vehicles at the parking lot nearby.
“Five million dollars is a whole lot of money Kyle…” Oliver pointed out with a side glance at his ward.
“Yeah. It really is…” Kyle nodded in agreement, the reality of the amount he had just spent, dawning on him.
“But, I’m fairly certain that I’ll make back all of that money and then some if all goes well…” he confidently stated, a determined expression on his features.
Seeing the resolute expression on his ward’s visage, Oliver soon spoke;
“So, you have a plan?”
“Not really… but I do know one thing’s for sure…” Kyle had a light smile, tug on the corners of his lips as Oliver inquired curiously;
“And what’s that?”
“Gamers will buy a good videogame that sells on its promise, especially if it’s a single player, story-driven, open-world, superhero videogame that respects their time and money…” the young star, replied to Oliver who didn’t understand half of the videogame jargon he had just said.
“And besides, I’ve always felt that [Tech Wiz], had the potential to become a big thing.” he added with a light grin.
“Now, it’s just a matter of bringing that dream to a reality!” Kyle concluded, a strong hint of excitement in his sapphire irises.
As Oliver watched his ward, geek out on his interests, he couldn’t help but shake his head in resignation, a hint of curious amusement in his grey irises.
If Kyle saw a rich business prospect in the studio he had just bought, irregardless of gaming also being a hobby of his, then he was interested to see how it would all play out.
That said, currently unknown to both parties as of the moment, this would be one of the best decisions that Kyle had unknowingly taken to secure a lifetime’s worth in billions upon billions of dollars.
But as of now, Kyle was just happy that the videogame he had been looking forward to playing, wasn’t going to get shoved into the dumpster, never to see the light of day again.
As this was happening though, Oliver just as he had gotten into his vehicle to take his leave, received an e-mail.
Checking who the sender was and reading through the contents of the message, the agent widened his eyes in excited shock!
Swiftly, he exited his Porsche, calling out to Kyle whom had already started the engine of his Mustang.
