Rise To Stardom - Chapter 148
Chapter 148: Homemade
“It’s perfect.” Kyle smiled as he perused through the multiple videos Ryan had sent him.
A few hours later, after his meeting with his employees, Kyle was currently at home, now with more workload on his plate than before.
Still, the fact that the newly wedded couple had been extremely receptive of his idea when he shared it with them last month regarding the music video for [Now & Forvermore], gave Kyle all the motivation he needed to craft the beautiful idea he had in mind.
Moving over to his small table by the couch and switching on his high-end laptop, one that wouldn’t make rendering videos in crisp quality and smooth edit transitions an issue, Kyle instantly got to work.
That said, for the feel of the video, Kyle was more or less going with a homemade, vintage-feel… something that looked and felt like it was made in the early 2000’s.
Currently, the time was around 1:00pm in the afternoon and yet, no sooner had the young man started working, he completely immersed himself in bringing the lovely vision he had in mind to perfection.
By the time he was done with everything he wanted to do, the clock had struck 6:00pm.
…
…
…
It started with an old, grainy, camcorder shot of a well-kept lawn, the hedges trimmed to perfection.
And in the lawn, were two children, barely four years of age, playing around.
A boy and a girl, running around in circles, hands interlocked whilst laughing as the rain fell.
The bliss in their eyes was unmistakable and the purity of their souls, was on full display.
The rainfall was moderate, yes, but their clothes were already soaking wet, their hair, slicked back against their young foreheads.
“Ryan Parker! Katie Chopra! Get in right now! You’ll catch a fever!” a feminine voice, Katie’s mum to be precise, called out to both of them as Ryan’s mom, simply recorded.
“No!” both kids retaliated, hands interlocked as they vigorously shook their heads.
And just like that, the soft tune of the piano, entered the video as it slowly took over the natural audio of the old time capsule.

–
“Oh they were always such little rascals…” Ryan’s mom stated, the warmest of smiles on her face as Katie’s mom, alongside their husbands chuckled in response whilst watching the video on the TV.
They had planned a small get-together and had decided to re-watch the music video of [Now & Forevermore] after the dinner before they had dessert.
–
At the exact same time, the shot changed to a picture of Ryan and Katie at five, both in matching outfits for Halloween as they seemingly scrutinized the others attire with the most mischievous grins.

Can’t say, how we got this far,
Can’t say, if it was written in the stars…
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
At that moment, the picture slowly flipped past, showing as a few other pictures slowly flipped past, one after the other.
It was a compilation of their pictures as children, each and every one of it, highlighting the various things they did together as kids.

But I’ll walk this line…
And I’ll cross this tightrope with you…
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
From flips of pictures, the entire page of the video itself, smoothly flipped open, showing a short clip of the two in their tweens as Katie acted as a princess in a castle while Ryan, acted as the valiant knight who came to save her in a theatre performance.
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
Now and forevermore…
I promise to be yours…
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
Just as Ryan was about to climb the props that imitated the castle, the video transitioned to another short clip, this time of both individuals at prom as they threw down on the dance floor alongside Lily instead of slowly waltzing to the slow song that was being played.
–
‘My goodness…’ Lily inwardly commented with a hearty chuckle as she listened to song with her ear pods whilst watching the music video again.
Selena, her agent who was sitting right beside her, similarly chuckled as she watched the video from her periphery.
Both were on a flight to L.A as Lily had an appointment to model for a fairly popular brand she was an ambassador for.
–
With an animated, rug-like fold of the video this time, a white paint was splashed onto the wooden walls of a house, the video, making it clear that a teenage Ryan and Katie were the perpetrators as they slid across the screen like the rambunctious souls they were.
It was one of those odd jobs they had gotten during one of their summer breaks.
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
Right here, and right now,
I see my future, in your eyes,
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
–
Christina, who was watching the music video after a hard day’s work on set with Maria for a music video they had shot for another indie musician, chuckled heartily as the two souls in the music video, messed about instead of actually painting the walls.
–
Using the white paints on the walls as a canvas of sorts, the camera extensively zoomed in on it for a brief moment and then, zoomed out to reveal a white script, one that a concentrated Kyle was reading through while a happy Ryan in the background, who had a loudly giggling, honey badger Katie latched onto his back, spun around while scattering the scripts after their final year exams in college.
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
To come home to you,
Every day of our lives…
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
To this, the other members of the theatre club, despite their laughter being inaudible due to the instrumentals of the song, laughed as the scripts, scattered about the stage.
–
Sharon Winters, despite obviously finding the current scene in the video amusing, had her eyes trained instead on Kyle who remained particularly undisturbed by the joyful mirth of his friends.
Added to that, was an immensely possessive glint in her deep-blue eyes.
–
As the papers fell down, the video transitioned once more and now, Katie, was in her bridal gown, as she and Ryan took their vows.
The video’s quality had now shifted from the vintage, homemade feel it had to a much more, modern feel as the couple, sealed the deal with a sweet kiss.
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
Can’t say, how we got this far,
Can’t say, if it was written in the stars,
But I’ll walk this line…
And I’ll cross this tightrope, with you…
🎹 🎵 🎼 🎤
As the music video came to a close, the tune lingering on, the video, slowly faded out and then back in, showing a fully audible clip of Ryan taking his vows, leading up to the part where he botched the vows with his ‘Waffley Wedded Wife’.
The video then continued on, with Katie’s infectious laughter, being the highlight as the video, finally faded to black…
That was the end of the music video of [Now & Forevermore].
–
As Ryan and Katie watched the music video for the umpteenth time, the most blissful smiles on their faces, both shared another sweet kiss as the cold night’s air of the beach, blew through the fairly luxurious condo they had rented for their honeymoon in Hawaii.
As for Kyle’s fans, music lovers and enthusiasts, their reaction to the music video, was pretty much expected.
–
SinglePringle: I’ve never felt more single in my entire existence than I have as of this moment… Why’d you have to do me like this K.K?!!
Princess Peach: Hey. Hey @SinglePringle; respectfully, no one asked you to watch the video, you know. You came here of your own volition so don’t be blaming our cinnamon roll. Blame thyself for being maidenless.
BuiltLikeATank: Yeah. I only shed manly tears while watching the music video. Just manly tears. No biggie. Yeah. Manly tears.
WeDoABitOfTrolling: @BuiltLikeATank; Delulu is the solulu.
ShoeOnHead: These two are 100% soulmates! No one can tell me otherwise! The fact that I just see them as a newly, happily wedded couple and not just the typical, ‘popular celebrities getting married’ schtick, just seals it for me. I wish them a happily married life!
Sir_Prankerton: Pfft! Waffley Wedded Wife! I haven’t laughed so hard in such a long time. Literally fell off my bed!
Denizen_1245: @Sir_Prankerton; Someone actually clipped that particular scene and posted it on ViewTube. It’s already close to million views as of the moment in fact.
Peter_Writes_Fantasy: This just might be Kyle’s best music video till date. Not the most popular but possibly the loveliest, artistic-wise.
Wendy_The_Witch: I know right @ Peter_Writes_Fantasy! Especially when you consider that he’s not even in about 99% of it. The simplicity of it is also what makes it so darn beautiful. Can’t wait to hear our cinnamon roll’s next song too… whenever that will be.
NiceGuysAreCool: So much love. So much joy. So much hope. Makes me wanna believe in love again man… but, these darn hoes keep breaking my heart into tiny pieces every, blessed time!
* * *
It had been a few days since Kyle had released both the song and the music video for [Now and Forevermore].
And it didn’t come as a shocker to anyone that once again, Kyle’s song was a hit.
Probably not as viral as [Paradox] at the start of the year or even [Strange Canvas] last year but, it did outperform the stats of [No Clue] without breaking a sweat.
14.1M streams on GrooveBox.
20.4M views on ViewTube.
And also, No. 1 on the ‘Buzzing 100’ chart… all in the span of three days.
No matter how one spun it, a popular song was still a popular song regardless of how its stats compared to previous ones.
DiscoTune, as of the moment, couldn’t have felt more proud of themselves that they had negotiated a deal with Kyle earlier this year to help him promote his songs.
This was because, possibly, due to hits after hits from the young star, more artists, both indie and a few mainstreams, started contacting their distribution company to help with song promotions.
Business was booming for them and they were loving it.
And just as all these was happening, a certain director, was seriously contemplating having Kyle, part of the cast for a movie he was supposed to have rounded up the shooting for.
Yet, due to a falling out between he and an obnoxious musician dipping his toes into acting but was evidently, such a pain in the ass to work with, the movie’s shooting was placed on hold till he could find a good replacement.
Luckily for him, Silver-Line Studios trusted in his decision to fire said pain in the ass and as a result, they held back on pressuring him to round up the movie’s filming.
That said, the more Danny Rock thought about extending the script to the now popular actor, the more he felt that the young chap would most definitely decline his offer.
After all, last year, Kyle did audition for the first part of the movie and was ultimately cast aside because he as the director had felt that having ‘Alex Hunt’ and a young actor without variety in a dance movie, wouldn’t sit well with his vision of the movie.
