Rise To Stardom - Chapter 175
Chapter 175: All Aboard
“Three?” Camille, Miguel and Stuart simultaneously asked, one to which Kyle nodded.
Glancing over to Oliver who nodded in approval, Kyle then spoke;
“Yes, three. I have three major goals for now.”
To that, everyone listened attentively as he continued;
“One. I’m gonna produce a superhero movie, sometime in the future.” Kyle brought one finger down, earning genuine gazes of surprise from everyone.
Producing a superhero movie was a daunting, expensive and ambitious goal, especially if said person who wanted to produce it, didn’t even have an agency, film studio or production company of his own.
However, little did the crew know, that Kyle had already started taking steps towards that venture, slowly.
In fact, ever since he knew that a certain game was been developed the day he ran into Jasmine at the park bench last year, the idea had been gradually swirling around in his head till he finally, found a great opportunity to take a few small steps towards it.
He after all, he hadn’t decided to simply buy out SpawnSpoint Studios and also the Intellectual Property and Rights to [Tech Wiz], only to scratch the surface of what he could do with it.
That said, Kyle wasn’t a greedy person, and neither was he a mastermind of sorts.
Just a guy who wanted to live his dreams to the best of his capabilities.
“Two. I’m gonna open my own production company. I think that’s something I’ll really, really need to establish going forward.” Kyle listed his second goal.
It was a goal that was somewhat, intricately linked to the first but, even then, his team was already starting to realize that the young star sitting before them, wasn’t playing around as he spoke.
“As for the last, it’s very doable within the coming months.” Kyle smiled as he said, one to which Owen curiously asked on the behalf of everyone else;
“And what’s that?”
“I’m gonna be making my very first album.” the young star declared, one to which the team did indeed believe, was very feasible in comparison to his other plans.
It wasn’t going to be easy yes, but, it was definitely, achievable.
As for his other plans, those seemed like something that could only happen in the distant future.
To them at least.
“So, we’ve laid the cards and the groundwork on the table for Kyle’s future goals. What do you guys say?” Oliver, having allowed his talent to have the floor for most of the conversations, finally spoke as he leaned forward on the couch, his tone of choice, cool and composed.
“All aboard?” Kyle then asked with an inviting tilt of his head and a gesture of his arms towards his team, a similarly inviting smile on his lips.
To that, Owen, Gwen, Camille, Miguel and Stuart, glanced over to each other for a few seconds and then, gave a brief nod as they simultaneously declared;
“All aboard!”
* * *
“You have a Game Studio?!” Owen, Gwen and Camille asked, a bit of shock evident in their voices.
“Well color me surprised…” Miguel added, a genuinely curious expression on his features.
Considering all four had done some really deep search into Kyle Kestis’s life, especially because they were very thorough people who liked to know whom they were working for, this came as an unexpected news to all of them.
Stuart on the other hand, simply listened, just as interested as the rest in Kyle’s business ventures.
Having already decided to sail the high seas with the young star, the team had gone around exploring the apartment, realizing that there was a personal room to each of them on the upper floor.
In fact, there were eight mid-sized rooms upstairs, each with its own kitchen and toilet, one each for Kyle and Oliver to use if they needed to stick around for the night and one extra room, left unoccupied.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
This extra room was one that the team wondered whom was for, to which Oliver had then explained, that he was still trying to get said person to come on board and join the team.
But that’s beside the point.
Since his team members already had accommodations of their own, their individual rooms were more or less prepared notwithstanding, in case they needed to stay over and work the night at the office.
Having done that though, they had then returned back to the office downstairs and began discussing a few important things here and there regarding Kyle’s enviable career in Hollywood and how they needed to push him to new heights.
Some part of that conversation had been what eventually lead to the conversation they were having now.
“Yes.” Kyle casually responded to his team while Oliver, placing a few fingers on his chin, thoughtfully spoke;
“He’s been a CEO for close to four months now if my estimations are correct…”
“He’s also worked me to the bone as his stand-in secretary. Not that I mind though.” Oliver glanced over to Owen who realized he was in for it and then, back to Kyle with a light smile on his lips to which he then added, deviously;
“I haven’t even taken my lady on a date this past month come to think of it…”
To that, Kyle coughed a bit, his agent’s words, subtly cutting into his bones as he swiftly changed topics;
“The album! That’s our focus for now.”
Laughing a bit at their interaction, the team then focused on the matter at hand, their gazes serious as Gwen, the Social media and PR manager spoke;
“Are you gonna be collaborating with any artists?”
“Yes. I will be collaborating with quite a few.” Kyle replied confidently.
Collaborations between artists after all, especially amongst the popular ones was something fans were always typically, very excited to hear.
It was also something that Kyle was really looking forward to.
Added to that, even though Kyle had no agency or record label, sorting out distribution was going to be a cinch, especially since Oliver had already informed DiscoTune and GrooveBox about his talent’s upcoming album.
“Alright then. Happy to hear that.” Gwen replied, a subtle hint of excitement in her tone.
“It’d be in your best interests that the album is completed before March though, Kyle.” Stuart, the tour manager then spoke this time, his tone of choice calm.
“That way, we can position you for an April release while avoiding all the craze that usually comes with the SXSW festival and the wave of releases from other more mainstream artists earlier in the year.” he explained his reasoning even further, one that everyone else agreed with.
Usually, whenever an independent artist planned to drop an album, it was always advised for them to set aside a month or three months to give themselves a breather and also, use that period to organize a strategy, prepare marketing campaigns, promotional contents and most of all, build up hype for the eventual release of said album.
March was a typically a good month to release but, that was only if you were a mainstream musician whose record label could take excellent advantage of all the music festivals and the likes that’d be happening then, the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas being the major one.
And sure it could be argued that Kyle had more or less reached that status but still, he was, by industry standards, an independent artist that was well and far above indie but, not quite yet, mainstream.
That was why Stuart had suggested an April release instead.
There was no point in taking any chances when they could very well, prepare for Kyle’s album release without any competition in sight.
“Yeah. I understand. It’d probably take me about four months to come up with three to four songs more so that won’t be an issue.” Kyle stated, a thoughtful expression on his features.
Since they were currently in September, possibly by January ending next year, Kyle’s album should’ve been ready… speculatively.
That meant they could use the rest of January, February, March and early April to effectively prepare for all the other variables, alongside shooting and preparing the music videos to release in sync with the album.
“Wait, three to four?” Owen soon asked, a bit concerned by that information, one that Gwen and Stuart also shared.
Three to four more songs in an album in addition to the other songs Kyle had produced previously was in no way a small number for an album but, typically, musicians tended to go for more.
“If that’s what you’re worried about, don’t be.” Oliver, having understood their concerns, casually spoke.
“He already has two sorted out and apparently, had a great idea for another today so you can be rest assured he’s making more than four songs.” the agent explained to Owen and the team to which Kyle slightly grinned in appreciation.
Over the course of the week he had returned, the young star had first finished up the rest of the game’s soundtracks and then began working on his album pronto.
Atypical of him though, a lot of hair pulling hadn’t gone into trying to get the guide tracks and the lyrics of the song he wanted to create down this time.
This was mostly because Kyle had been consciously keeping the ideas for the songs in mind for more than a few months now, hence, when he eventually got around to making them, it had been an unexpectedly smooth process.
That said, Kyle was certain the idea for the new song he got today was really going to test and put him through his paces.
Not that he wasn’t up to it though. The young man loved a good challenge that pushed the limits of his creativity.
“So, six to seven songs then? That’s great.” Gwen nodded in understanding this time, earning a small sigh of relief from Owen and Stuart.
And with that, a few more tidbits here and there were discussed amongst the team regarding Kyle’s album till eventually, the topic of conversation shifted to various other things that was also of importance to his career, the release of [Level Up 2] next year February being one of the major things.

Danny blinked his eyes a few times, the screen of the editor’s PC reflecting on his pupils and irises.
Having already finished up filming for [Level Up 2] two weeks ago, the movie was now in the first stages of post-production.
Luckily, the Director had also met up with the deadline of 1st of October that Silver-Line Studios had set for him…
Just barely though.
That aside though, Danny had been involved through every step of the post-production that needed to do with polishing up the movie, especially since he wanted the final cut to be as perfect as possible.
Added to that, he wanted to ensure that the last dance scenes especially, wasn’t butchered to oblivion by the editors and just as Silver-Line Studios had trusted in him from day one, they didn’t interfere with his wishes this time either.
“There. That scene. The transition is a tad bit too late.”
“No that’s fine. It’s perfect.”
“Hmmm… the cut is a bit too early here. Please push it forward a bit.”
“No. No. Don’t cut that scene out. Xander bumping into Lance just makes The Deviant’s dance scene after even better.”
Just like that, without nagging at the editor, Danny would occasionally comment if he felt some scenes could be more cohesively put together, he and the editor working together in harmony.
That was until Sean walked in and said with a genuinely uncomfortable expression;
“So uh, apparently, [Prom Perfect 3] will be hitting theatres the same day as ours.”
In response to that, Danny Rock scowled in absolute disdain.
