Rise To Stardom - Chapter 49
Chapter 49: Music Video Script
Finishing up his workout session for the day, Kyle sat at the lobby of the gym, his muscles aching.
Compared to last year December when he had first started though, this was pretty manageable.
Slowly but surely, he was becoming muscular and Kyle was sure, that within the next three to four months, he’d have achieved his main goal; a buffed, lean and toned build. Nothing too crazy.
Honestly, he himself had never expected that he’d come to enjoy working out this much but the noticeable changes that came with seeing his physique getting slightly bulkier was very rewarding.
‘Come to think of it, shouldn’t [Growth Spurt] also effect my body itself?’ he suddenly pondered, curiosity taking over as his fingers rested on his chin.
As he was thinking of that, Oliver walked from around the corner, his own body perfectly sculpted.
Wearing a black tank top and grey work-out pants, it was obvious that he’d been staying fit for years now judging by his moderately bulky build.
Seeing him, Kyle slung his work-out bag across his shoulder and got up as they both headed out of the gym.
Walking across the street side-by-side, the amount of ladies checking Oliver out was in no small number to say the least but both individuals seemed so oblivious to it due to the discussion they were having.
“Oliver, I was wondering; Why not shoot a proper music video for the song this time?”
Listening to his question, the agent answered, his expression thoughtful.
“Sure, why not. We can have the song released in the next two weeks instead… Should be enough time to make one just in time to release alongside the song. February 12 or 13 maybe…”
“We’ll also need to hire a small professional filming crew for that, though it shouldn’t be anything too problematic. I know a few people…” Oliver continued, his voice trailing off a bit.
“The main issue though, will be the music video itself. If we’re going to do this, we’ll need a really good music video script. It has to be just as good as the song itself…” the agent concluded while gently tweaking his aching shoulder joint.
‘Hmmm. A good script huh…’ Kyle mused.
And then, like a lightbulb switch turned on, he snapped his fingers as a certain lady’s face came to mind.
Turning to face Oliver who found his sudden gesture curious, Kyle, with a light smile on his lips, said;
“You know what, don’t worry about the script Oliver. I’ll handle it. You just get a competent director and we’ll be golden.”

Working as a waiter for a small restaurant, Christina finally got off her shift.
Already quite tired, the lady quickly greeted her peers and proceeded to head home.
Just as she got into a taxi, she felt her phone beep and with eager anticipation, quickly retrieved it.
However, after receiving the news of another one of her scripts being rejected, Christina’s already tired mood took a turn for the worst.
Holding back the tears in her eyes, she quietly leaned onto the window of the cab, all while staring at the rejection letter in her e-mail.
A bit unsure of if she should even continue this hobby of hers, especially after having fifty-nine different scripts rejected over the past year and the very first one being rejected this year, the lady quickly shook her head.
‘This isn’t like me. I shouldn’t give up. Let’s keep giving it our all…’ she told herself even though she herself was struggling to believe those words.
About to exit the app and switch off her phone, another message came in almost immediately.
Seeing the sender of the message, Christina’s ever-green irises widened in a spark of joy and quickly, she sat upright, reading through the contents of the message.
Just a few minutes after, she quickly motioned to the cabbie to change his destination to a restaurant downtown.

<Hi!>
<Hi.>
<How’ve you been Kyle? I saw you act in [Grow Up] the other day. You were great!>
<Splendid. I’ve been splendid. Thank you for saying that Christina. What about you?>
<Surviving I guess…>
<The zombie apocalypse?> Kyle joked, his eyes widening and his eyebrows arched curiously.
Christina giggled at that and then responded;
<Maybe…>
<Well, you do look really tired. We can have the discussion tomorrow if you want.> Kyle signed, a hint of worry in his sapphire eyes this time.
Christina however, gently tilted her head and then replied playfully;
<But the world might’ve ended tomorrow. Zombie apocalypse, remember? We might never get the chance to have the discussion if we don’t have it now…>
Chuckling a bit whilst shaking his head in resignation at the words of the pretty lady sitting from across him, Kyle then retrieved his phone and ear buds, passing it over to Christina whose coquettish expression changed into that of surprise.
Questioning him with her eyes, Kyle simply motioned to her to listen to the song on the phone.
Nodding her head, Christina curiously took the earbuds, placing it into her ear to listen to the song.
As she did, Kyle took the opportunity to appraise her.

‘Wow. She’s upgraded by a level from the last time I checked’ Kyle pondered to himself, remembering that her writing was at Level 13 as at early November last year.
The lady on the other hand, not even ten seconds into the song, already seemed to be so mesmerized by it and her big round, green eyes, widened in further amazement.
Eventually, after the song was over, her heart still beating a bit fast from just how great yet emotional the song was, Kyle then signed to her with a hopeful smile.
<If you’re up for it, I’d love for you to help me with a music video…>

Three days later, after Christina and Kyle had met up, they were once again at the restaurant they had previously met up at.
This time though, Oliver tagged along, along with a pretty lady in her mid-thirties that went by the name of Maria Dominique.
Having a mature-looking face with dark-brown, brunette-styled hair, dark-brown eyes and thin lips, she exuded a strong hint of professionalism.
Considering Kyle had already informed her about their appearance before hand, Christina didn’t find the presence of the two surprising.
Quickly, all three introduced themselves, Kyle translating for Christina while Oliver gazed at him with a most curious yet impressed expression.
He had no idea his ward understood sign-language.
“Well, now that the formalities are done, let’s get down to business.” Kyle clapped his hands and simultaneously, Christina retrieved the music video scripts from a brown envelope.
Passing it over to Oliver and Maria, Kyle who also had his own copy in hand, couldn’t help but be amazed by the proficiency rate of the script.

Written by Christina Aubert, the music video script crafts a compelling narrative that will mesh very well with the power-ballad written and sung by Kyle Kestis.

Gauging the reaction of all three as they read her script, the budding scriptwriter nervously fidgeted in her seat.
This was far different from her playwriting scripts from college and the ones she would submit to the Writer’s Guild every so often despite the constant rejections.
Due to that, there was a certain fear of having her script getting rejected again even by Kyle so her anxiousness, was very much understandable.
Awaiting their verdict, Maria was the first to speak, breaking the silence.
“This… This is really good!” she said, an impressed expression on her face.
“You really wrote this?!” she then asked, still finding the script amazing.
Meekly nodding her head, Christina replied as a big wave of relief washed over her.
“Fantastic! Do you write other types of scripts too?” Maria asked with a curious expression.
Nodding her head again in response, Maria’s eyes had a glint of amazement and she was planning to quickly remove and hand over her business card the young lady.
“Aah, ah, ah. Don’t, Maria. Not right now.” Oliver finally spoke up, directing a warning gaze towards her.
Clicking her tongue, Maria reclined back into her chair, inwardly swearing to herself that she would poach Christina no matter what.
‘We could really use a good scriptwriter in our crew.’ she thought to herself.
“Well, as she said, it’s a really good script Miss. Aubert. If you don’t mind, I’d like to negotiate the contract with you at a later date. Tomorrow perhaps?” Oliver respectfully asked.
Nodding her head again, this time with a gleeful smile, Oliver exchanged contacts with her while Maria, reading through the script again, spoke up, her professional demeanor returning.
“We’re going to need to direct two separate videos if we really want this to work. Then we’ll edit them into a singular one later.”
“For the first video, we’ll have to rent the place we’ll need to use…” she added, her voice trailing off as she continued.
“… and as for the second, hiring quite a few extras will be necessary to pull it off.”
“You might end up spending close to $10,000 really.” she concluded, her eyes flicking over between Oliver and Kyle.
“That won’t be an issue.” Oliver casually answered.
“Yeah, as long as it’s done right, I don’t mind.” Kyle added, smiling a bit as he raised his gaze up from the script.
Turning his head over to Christina, he then asked;
“Say Christina, would you like to star in the music video?”
Widening her eyes, unable to comprehend what she had just heard, the lady quickly shook her head in denial.
“Are you sure?” he asked again, a thin smile on his lips.
“It’ll be fun.” he added, this time while gesturing with slightly spread arms.
Pursing her lips, a few thoughts running through her head, Christina then gently nodded her head in affirmation this time, a response that elicited a warm smile from Kyle.
