Rise To Stardom - Chapter 87
Chapter 87: Differing Experiences
Disoriented from the bombing, dust and rubble flying everywhere, along with blood leaking from their heads, Sam and Alex struggled to get up after a while.
Watching as the The Spider whom was now just a few meters ahead of him, headed for Sam, Alex willed himself to lunge at the man who was about to fire a bullet.
The Spider was dead meat and he was definitely going to make sure of it!
At the same time, Alex gestured to Sam to stop Abraham from escaping!
“Don’t let him get away Sam! Leave The Spider to me!”
Soon enough, another chase scene ensued, this time between Abraham who wanted to escape before the cops got there and Sam who was hell-bent on making him pay.
However, as the audience watched, the scene soon cut back to Alex and The Spider duking it out.
“(You bastard! I’ll kill you!)” The Spider declared with a furious expression.
“(And you’re going down for planting that chip in my father’s suitcase you fucker!)” Alex replied back in Fluent Russian, catching the everyone in the cinema off-guard.
However, without giving them any chance to recover, they watched as a tired Alex struggled to keep up with the more energetic Russian Mafioso.
Eventually, the fight ‘seemingly’ ended with the latter slamming one of the rocks from the destroyed debris onto Alex’s head, knocking him out in an instant.
Moving over to pick up a gun to finish the job, The Spider returned to finish the job, only to scream in pain as Alex drove a pen knife into his shoes before he could shoot!
Quickly, Alex used the opportunity to disarm the man with a leg lock takedown, evening the playing field if only for a short moment.
But the Russian Mobster was still stronger than a tired Alex so he eventually disentangled from the lock, only to realize that Alex had already retrieved his gun to use against him.
Quickly, he tiredly ran out of the destroyed hall as Alex fired a few shots, his accuracy lowered due to the concussion he was experiencing.
Luckily for him, one still hit the Russian Mafioso in his back so the man staggered and fell to the ground for a short while, grunting in pain as he did.
Around that same time, the Russian man, stumbled upon a gun with an empty mag from one of the dead bodies littering the hall. Quickly grabbing it, he made his way out of the hall, his steps uneven.
Struggling to get up too, Alex soon made his way into the parking lot, only to see the The Spider fumbling to reload a gun in his shaky hands as he stood near a car.
He was planning to escape after being severely wounded but Alex wasn’t going to let him.
Limping towards the closest car to him, Alex fired at the window, jammed his fist immediately through it and then opened said car.
This caused the The Spider to glance back at Alex from a distance, a look of fear etched onto his face.
Starting the car with a quick hotwire, the engines revving, Alex drove the car straight towards the terrified man who had now fully reloaded the gun.
Emptying the magazine into the oncoming car, specifically targeting Alex in the driver’s seat, Alex himself dived out of the car, much to the dismay of the screaming Russian man.
“(You fucking bastard!!!)”
The car drove straight into him, crushing him like a twig of wood against the body of another car.
There were a few winced expressions of pain in the audience as the The Spider finally met his end at Alex’s hand.
However, as they watched Alex himself whom had landed roughly onto the ground slowly get up, they realized from the way his arm was dangling that it had been dislocated.
This was truly unexpected as in most action movies, the characters would usually do things like that with literally next to no detrimental effect.
Seeing it in now this movie though, added a layer of grounded realism to the movie and as they watched Alex limp over, a pained expression on his features as he popped the arm back in with a muffled groan.
Finally reaching the crushed body of The Spider, a few words escaped his mouth once he verified that The Spider was truly dead.

“(I told you I’d put you down you fucker!)” he spat in Russian, a victorious expression on his tired face.
Some people in the audience felt a sense of relief as they watched him say that.
His triumph over the The Spider had been hard-earned yet so satisfying to them, especially because he had been at a severe disadvantage when their entire scuffle had started.
No sooner had that happened though, the camera then cut back to Sam and Abraham.
By this time, the old agent had gotten into a car and was about to run a tired Sam over in an effort to kill him.
Sam on the other hand, unwilling to die till he made sure Abraham got his due punishment, shot through the windshield of the oncoming car and then employed a crazy move where he jumped straight through the weakened windshield, effectively taking Abraham down in the process.
That scene alone, caused some people in the audience to seriously wonder just how crazy Sam was to still try to employ a move like that despite his fatigue.
After that though, the aftermath and the last few minutes of the movie was shown.
The cops as usual, arrived far later than they should have and sorted out all the necessary things.
Abraham was detained and sentenced to life imprisonment by the court while Sam was reinstated as an EMF agent, this time as a higher executive.
Pierce’s name was finally cleared and the entire microchip market was shut down so no more serial bombings.
As for Alex, he was currently in a café with Sam who was speaking to him.
The color palette in this scene was, ever-so slightly, brighter than the other scenes, adding more to that feel of a movie, gradually reaching its end.
“So, what’s the plan now?” Sam asked the young man, a slightly curious expression on his usually stoic visage.
Stirring his cup of coffee, a casual expression on his features, Alex replied;
“I don’t know. Dad’s name’s cleared now so I don’t really have anything better to do. Might just dip my hand in a few things here and there till something sticks.”
Visibly thinking about something, a look of contemplation in his eyes, Sam then asked;
“How… how about working with me?”
“Your father may not have approved of you following in his footsteps but… I have to admit, you’d make for a truly valuable asset to the EMF.” he continued.
“So, what do you say kid?” Sam asked again, hoping for a positive answer.
Raising his gaze to stare at Sam, Alex tilted his head a bit, seemingly mulling over the offer.
However, watching as a thin smile spread on his lips a few seconds later, Sam waited for Alex to speak.
And just as he opened his mouth to do so, the movie ended, leaving the audience to guess what Alex’s answer must’ve been.
Watching as the credits rolled, most of the audience in the room felt like they had truly watched a very fun movie.
How long had it been since they had watched a movie that was just pure, unadulterated, fun.
The movie had done exactly what it said it was going to do.
Be a fun action movie.
Bruce and Jeffrey as expected, had killed their roles in the movie, making the audience get invested in the storyline with their stellar acting.
But more than that, almost everyone in the cinema were now also sure of one thing.
Kyle Kestis wasn’t just a good singer.
In fact, from what they had seen in the movie, his acting chops were quite possibly, way stronger than his singing skills.
The fact that throughout the movie, they had completely forgotten that he was the indie singer whom had gone viral and were completely glued to the image of him as Alex Hunt, spoke volumes about how he was able to completely embody his character.
Even despite being among acting powerhouses like Bruce and Jeffrey, Kyle’s acting was able to stand out and go toe to toe with them on the big screen.
Add that to the fact that he was still in his earlier twenties, made him a marketable commodity a lot of filmmakers, wanted to get their hands on.
Jon Quentin too, was no different.
He, whom had been on the fence before about Kyle’s acting chops, despite Jeffrey praising him so many times, finally made his decision.
The same could be said for a lot of other people in the room because no sooner had the movie ended, a lot of them began to search for him, praising him for a job well done.
“Are you sure you want to pursue a singing career Kyle? Seems like you’ll excel even better in acting industry.” a producer amongst them asked while handing over his business card to which Kyle simply replied while politely accepting it.
“I can make it work sir. Singing and acting.”
“What other projects do you have on the horizon?” one well-known movie critic in his late sixties asked this time.
“None at the moment. This is my very first film.” Kyle exchanged handshakes with the elderly man.
“Kyle.” Jon soon came around and said.
“Will you be interested in an offer of mine?” he asked with a thin smile.
Widening his eyes at those words, a genuine look of pleasant disbelief on his face, Kyle quickly reeled in his excitement and responded in a composed manner.
“Most definitely Mr. Quentin!”
“Good. I’ll be communicating the details to you down the line.” Jon exchanged a firm handshake with the young man who was all smiles.

As the screening of [Bohemian Days] ended, despite the hype surrounding the project with its many A-listers, most viewers, critics and reporters whom had come to the screening, felt very unsatisfied with the movie.
Truly, it had been quite the lackluster experience.
It wasn’t a bad movie by any means but, it really wasn’t a good movie either.
Simply put, the movie was mid.
The fact that it had multiple characters with different struggles that the movie wanted to focus on, a concept that should’ve been appealing if it had been executed well, ended up falling flat on its face.
The actors had actually acted really well, but it wasn’t enough to sell the story or sell the bland storyline.
More than that though, there was an unequivocal agreement between everyone even if they hadn’t said it out loud.
Austin Wilde had the weakest acting through the entirety of the whole movie.
