Chapter 362: Rays of Blue
Theron’s eyes shot open, a radiant light coming from them. There was a sharpness to him now that felt almost inhuman, and a sensitivity that made him almost feel like he was still in a dream.

It was hard for him to grasp just the sort of clarity he felt. It was almost like he could see the Mana floating around him, approaching him, reflecting away from him, finding balance with him.

The various types of Elemental Mana formed and were rejected. Only Water Mana in all its various forms seemed to respond to him at all, looping around him like a puppy looking for love.

‘What…?’

Various forms?

Theron looked around in confusion, blinking. He thought that after this, the sights would disappear, but all that really happened were the other Elements becoming duller to his senses until they vanished entirely, while Water Mana only began to take up more and more of his vision until he started seeing it everywhere.

It was odd. It was almost like he was reforming his affinity in real time. There was no other reason for the other elements to appear at all.

But why did he feel like he was being reborn? What was this odd sensory perception coming from?

Theron blinked again, but it wasn’t disappearing. Streams of Water Mana formed around him, and when he took a breath, they seemed to pour into his body, flooding his pores, and elevating his mind.

However, there was still something confusing him.

Why did the Water Mana feel so… different? No, why were there different types? Was there more than one kind of Water Mana? What was the difference? Why could he tell that there was a difference, and yet remain unable to tell why there was a difference at all?

Theron frowned.

For the first time… he actually felt that his talent was lacking.

When he first started his cultivation journey, he hadn’t really thought about it. He never cared about cultivation and only liked his books, so when he picked it up he didn’t know much about it.

When he saw how easily it came, he began to care less about cultivation itself, and more about the intricate details of it—what could make him stronger, faster, more equipped for revenge.

But until now, everything his mind had wanted to execute and everything he was able to accomplish seemed to be one and the same, hardly having any difference between them.

But now, he actually felt like he was inferior. Like he was looking at a complicated equation that he couldn’t make heads or tails of.

The Water Mana still flooded into his body just the same, but he could really… feel them in the way his eyes could see them.

Theron closed his eyes and took a breath. He didn’t know what had happened to him while he was asleep, but he assumed it was related to the evolution of his Third Eye again. But now it seemed that his Third Eye had actually surpassed what his body was capable of withstanding, and that left him feeling uncomfortable.

Slowly, Theron stood to his feet, opening his eyes once again and looking toward the platform.

For now, he could only press these ill feelings down.

Clutching the moon stone in one hand, he leapt down the stands, having the Alpha stay in place. Soon, he was in the middle of the elevated platform.

While he was asleep, if there had been anyone that came here, they had left fairly quickly. Assassins were usually quite sensitive to danger. A young man sleeping out in the open clearly denoted a sense of fearlessness none of them wanted to get involved in.

That was fine enough by Theron.

Chi.

Theron slit his wrist open, large pools of blood falling in lingering crimson curtains. With a flick of his hand, it was sent out in controlled streams, pooling across the platform.

In truth, Theron didn’t know exactly how this worked—he only had certain guesses and extrapolations. He also knew that for some reason, others needed this platform while he did not.

So he wanted to see something.

Understanding the secrets of his own bloodline would definitely be key to him getting the revenge he wanted. However, he also had no intention of relying on this platform either.

So, he would have to strike a balance—a balance that would require his full mental faculties. This was why he had insisted on resting first.

And now that his mind was at full capacity…

It was time.

Theron clenched the moon rock and pulled out his father’s sword. His steps suddenly gained a rhythmic cadence to them, and his swordsmanship bloomed as his eyes traced the Water Mana in the air.

In the eyes of others, it was just an elegant dance. To Theron, it was like he was following the currents of Water Mana in the air.

He could feel that the strength of his Water Resonance Swordsmanship was on another level as he did so, but he quickly refocused himself, returning to that state he had been in within the Luminescent Moon Sect’s Secret Realm…

As though he was beneath those nine moons again, he began to dance, one step after another forming a rhythmic motion.

The platform shook.

Theron’s eyes sharpened, and the glow of the moon stone in his hands grew along with it.

Theron didn’t pause his steps, waiting for something as the rumbling became more feverish.

And then came the first ray of blue.

The platform was completely underground, and yet it seemed to shine down from above, coming from a location Theron couldn’t quite understand with just a glance.

And then came another, then another.

They fell into the wells of the platform, glowing fiercely and pooling into Theron’s blood as though to mesh into one.

The rays continued to form until there were nine of them.

Theron felt something shift in his blood and the blood on the platform. One rotated in one direction, the other rotating in the other.

‘This is it.’
